Hi Sir, just to confirm, is health insurance specifically HMO which was not covered by law (Philhealth) subject to fringe benefit tax / graduated tax?.. Thank you Sir for your feedback.
PHILHEALTH is protected by the law, the Philippine Legislation regarding its inception and all throughout operation amongst 15 regions, as well as overseas through remittance. Similar to SSS, it has a tested and proven system that protects its health owners from fraud, misuse and abuse, it is also legally compliant since it is registered VAT amongst its regional offices domestically. HMOs as it is described, only Health Management/Maintenance Organization, it needs to have organization in order to retain itself, WHEREAS, PHILHEALTH/MEDICARE is deducted to employees salaries by employers subject to Taxation, that is why it is tax protection and that it is Insured similar to depositary receipts deposited to Issuing BANKS and CENTRAL BANK GUARANTEES, it is INSURED for P500,000.00 and is also subject to Reimbursements as to Tax code 1914, based on Patients status as to Persons with disability, Senior Citizen and All types of Citizens, since Taxation is designed for allocation, while exemption is designed for Quantification of items that are EXEMPT from VAT specially certain medicines, food, vegetables, housing, battery supplies, Equipment supplies and businesses where Senior Citizens or Junior Citizens would like to be, it is paid back to employees and Citizens Benefit. These should answer the specific and itemized claims for the said PHILHealth and HMOs) respectively certification. ******IMPORTANT*******
