    Man… I’m just discovering your channel and WHAT A SLAP 👋🫨
    I’m surprised you apologized so much, the level here is real high period.
    No editing during your performance just one rush, DOUBLE races against the clock on TWO different machines, with only ONE sample and TWO very different VERY GOOD results…
    Very original and personal, absolutely not easy sample base, HIGHLY EDUCATIVE, plus you’re really fun and entertaining…
    That’s a loooot of qualities there, “Chapeau bas Monsieur.”
    Thanks a lot for your share and big salut 🫡 from France !!

      The M+ defaults to some processing on the Mains (don't know if this was looked at in this video)... Removing the 2-bus plugins cleans it up in my experience. Audio out is solid sounding... but even then is shamed by e.g. the SP16 and s2400. The importance of the analog output stage is often overlooked in modern drum machines and samplers!

    Knock, on the MPC, once you convert your sample to a program, if you want to fine tune the start/end points of each pad, all you have to do is go to "Program Edit". Then hit the pad you want to adjust the start/stop point at and make your adjustments there.

    • @kb420ps
      @kb420ps 2 года назад +7

      When I use my MPC, I don't use the "Manual Auto Chop" feature the way that you did in the video. I chop on the MPC the exact same way that you do by hand on Maschine. I load a sample on to one pad, and then adjust it, then if I hold down copy, hit the pad I want to copy and then the destination pad, the pad is duplicated. I can then adjust that pad's start/end points, and so on and so forth. I thought you would like to know that since it seems like that is the workflow that you are more comfortable with in Maschine. MPC can do the exact same thing.

    Yo, that's a tough one. I kinda wanted to hear the same kit/sample on both beat boxes, but the way you did it was also fresh. Maschine + guy over here (with his MPC2000XL through a Burl as my sampling path into the + because why not) preferring the beat you did on MPC better, but mostly because for my taste the kit fit the sample better and you hit that bass line 17 seconds late, but it was right on time. And maybe is just my impression but also the sample timber is a little brighter on the mpc! btw u gave me a big inspowatching this video! dope! thx , peace!

  • @TangoJordan
    @TangoJordan 2 года назад +28

    This was really dope! I came away with a pretty consistent view of both units.
    1. The workflow is different.
    The Maschine is faster, but it wouldn't have the flow it has without the MPC Legacy
    2. The beats have a different personalities.
    Even if you tried to do the exact same thing on both, I bet we could still see a difference.
    3. I like the MPC better.
    Once you marry a workflow, you're biased. I grew up on that MPC 60 MKII and I yearn for it. I don't hate NI, I just prefer Akai. Doesn't stop me from appreciating Native, tho.

I got an MPC One, and i'm finally getting decent at it, probably should have got the MPC live 2 so i could phono directly into it, instead I need to run the phono input box for my headphone amp into my MPC One! I originally got it for drum beats and recording but i figured out it has built in synth, so i hook my little midi keyboard in and i got a synth. now im trying to learn how to chop samples so that way i can make beats with samples, midi drums, and real guitar.

    Bro, the way you chopped that sample on the maschine and literally found 4 variation in less than 2 minutes... man... I am so happy I went with maschine + (hasn't arrived but watching you got me super hyped)
    The drums sounded more appropiate on the mpc but i guess that's a non issue if you fill the maschine with your own sound curated for your own style and depart from there...
    I wonder if there is a functionality in maschine where you could capture midi playback in the same way Ableton does with its capture feature.. because bro... imagine you chopping those samples and getting all these ideas (like when you said oh wow...) man the business would be just tagging "capture" capture of all this phrases and putting it on different states or pattern ... THATS WORKFLOW!!! because at that point, in less than 2 minutes you KNOW you already have a vision full of potential, that being said I guess people could get the same speed of flow in both it depends how much you invest yourself into one or the other!

    I would've loved if you gave them both 30 minutes to really put some spice on it. Like what I heard so far enough to subscribe. Dope.

    Is there a way to sample all the music I have on iTunes into the Maschine?

    It doesn't really matter. Both beat machines are capable of roughly the same results. It's a matter of which one is your favorite to use or a better fit for you.
    I love that Akai MPC, but I'm more proficient while using the maschine.

    I'm biased. As an MPC guy, am I buggin' if I said it seem like the MPC hit harder??
    Anyway, my biggest takeaway is the nicest beatmakers are the ones the world's never heard of..🤷🏾‍♂️

    If I was drinking something when you started singing with the sample, whoever was in front of me would've been one THOUSAND percent wearing it

    I’m so stuck for my next upgrade I’ve been using akai products and software for a year with great results but something is pulling me towards the maschine workflow, only days to decide. 😒

    The Maschine is almost twice as expensive... But even not looking at the price I think the MPC is just as good or maybe better.
