Thinking of buying the Milwaukee diamond bit/hole saw but they are pricey. Not sure if I should go with a non brand drill bit. How many holes can you drill with a 1/4" or 3/16" or 5/16 Milwaukee bit?
Lovely idea with the fancy cups & pots.

Apparently you can drill a hole through glass with a diamond bit. I haven't done it myself, and I would probably recommend wearing a mask when doing it so you don't inhale any glass dust, but I have heard you can use the same method - perhaps not pushing down with as much pressure, but with light pressure.

What do you use to plug the hole if you are not using a saucer?
