Just added these guards to my 2021 KAWASAKI Vulcan/S ABS café - perfect fit and so easy after seeing this tutorial. All bolts fit perfect - done in about 1 hour! Happy in Nashville!
Hello I’m trying to install it on my 2021 Vulcan s and I couldn’t put it on. I was having a hard time lining it up. It’s the part that goes inside the bike…I’m struggling with that. Any suggestions please
Did you ? I just tried on my 2023 vulcan s and it doesn’t seem like the bars fit in the correct place around the rear brake pedal and behind the engine bar… it’s almost like it’s slightly out but not sure why. Did you have to do anything extra to this vid?
@@ABlackWhiteness The video shows everything as I mounted it. My Vulcan S is a 2018, and it's strange that you have a problem mounting it on a 2023, I don't think there should be any difference. As you can see here in the comments, there are those who installed it on 2023 without any problems...
I bought some bars for m 2021 Vulcan and they seem heavy and might add to much weight to the bike and effect the bikes performance. Did you notice anything different on your bike? Are the Puig bars made of Aluminum? Thanks
Great video Miles more helpful than the instructions. 3mm Allen Key 6MM Allen Key 13mm Spanner 10mm Socket 12mm Socket And corresponding Wrench 3/8 or 1/2 inch .. I used a 3/8 drive. The smaller 1/4 drive would be a little small to undo the 12mm bolts.
Thanks for the video. I have the same kit, installed the left side but the right side gets stuck behinde the metal piece that has the brake fluid reservoir screwed in. There is no enough clearance to align the top screwe. What is wrong?
If you have the same kit, you probably didn't do something right, because I didn't have any problems, and as you can see in the comments from others, they didn't have any problems either. Unfortunately, I can't check it on my motorcycle right now to inform you, because I'm on a trip and I'm not at home. I won't be able to see until a few weeks later...
I just tried to install the kit but it seems that the rod that is suppose to connect the two crash bars together is not long enough. The rod in my kit is 9 inches long. I would need several more inches. Is this length the same as the length of the rod in your kit? My bike is a 2024 vulcan S. Thanks
I don't have access to a motorcycle right now, so I'm not really sure about that length. My bike is 2018. Maybe there is a little difference in the model, or you don't have the same kit as mine?
Mike Pearson Hey... glad to hear it went well for you. I’ve read good and bad but I believe the product is designed spot on with a few minor access difficulties but not insurmountable. I have the product ordered and will go ahead and install because I believe it’s quite doable. Thanks for your input!
This install appears to be with the middle peg position. The bars can be installed with the extended pegs, but you'll have to do a simple mod that requires a few extra (cheap) parts. Basically, you just need to extend the rear left (shifter side) peg holder spacer and rubber boot a little so the shift pedal will clear the crash bar. On the right (brake) side peg holder you just need to use a shorter spacer on the front mount hole. Even though the directions below are a bit long, this is actually a super easy mod that'll cost you around $6 at your local hardware store. You will need the following parts: 2) M8 x 1.25 55mm (or 60mm) bolts Around 20-25) M8 or 5/16" flat washers 1) Rubber boot that's longer than the original one on the left (shifter side) peg holder. This part might be optional. Left (shifter side) peg holder: 1: Remove (or don't install) the bolt at the bottom of the crash bars that goes in the same front hole as the foot peg holder. 2: Replace the rubber boot on the foot peg holder with the new longer one after putting a stack of washers in the boot first (I used 7 washers, but depending on the washer thickness, you may have to use a different amount). You may still be able to use the original boot, but it may not stay on the peg holder as well as it did originally.) This allows the boot to stick out further than the original. 3: Mount the front peg holder hole using the other new M8x1.25 55mm (or 60mm) bolt with the original spacer. Don't torque the bolt yet. 4: You need to use a stack of washers to equal the thickness of the metal where you removed the bolt from the crash bar (I used 5 washers). If you have some super glue, glue these washers together for easier installation. 5: Slide one of the new M8x1.25 55mm (or 60mm) bolts through the rear hole of the left peg holder, then put the stack of washers on the bolt followed by the original spacer (creating an extended spacer). Mount the peg holder starting with the rear hole. 6: Torque the bolts appropriately. Right (brake) peg holder: 7: Remove (or don't install) the bolt at the bottom of the crash bar that goes in the same front hole as the foot peg holder. 8: Mount the foot peg holder starting with the rear hole using the original bolt and original spacer. Don't torque it yet. 9: For the front hole, replace the original spacer with a stack of washers (I used 7 here - this stack plus the thickness of the metal where the crash bar mounts should equal the thickness of the original spacer). For easier installation, glue the stack of washers together. 10: Mount the front hole with the stack of washers through the crash bar using the original bolt. 11: Tighten both bolts to appropriate torque. 12: Enjoy not having cramped legs and keep the rubber down! :D

iqcarlospinzon hi. There ... I to have the 2020 KVS and you say the install was quite easy. That is good, I’m not a top mechanic but this seems like a good and relatively easy install that I think I will do. I have heard of no issues and great success. The Kawasaki dealer wanted $150 to install these. I installed them today using this video in just a little over an hour. You saved me $150!!! 👍👍👍

does this interfere with the pegs moved all the way forward ?
