I know I came to this late. I watched your Niod discussion before shopping the sale. The niod lip bio lipid that I got in the sale last year was game changing. You are too young to really use it. As one ages (post 60) often lips start thinning out. I fell and also got a scar. Lip bio lipid used as directed got rid of the scar and makes my lips look like age 25🙂. I decided I should watch all your videos. I started skin care with the ordinary. So glad your video popped up whilst I was scrolling through RUclips. I have watched so many RUclipsrs talking about TO over the last few years, but I learned more in this one video than in all the others combined. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge; can't tell you how helpful I found it. Going to watch Part 2 right now!
Reza, thank you for sharing all your knowledge about the Ordinary products. The best I have heard on RUclips. You must have been a fantastic asset to the Ordinary company.
You're right about the coffeine solution, I bought it after someone from deciem recommended it for my dark circles, and I was 25 back then so I had the most baby-like skin under my eyes and after using it the skin started to have fine lines and be dry. I still wonder what would help make my dark brownish undereyes look better, cause that serum isn't it. After trying like 80% of the ordinary products, i reached the conclusion that the AHA+BHA mask and the EUK serum are the best for me and the only ones I need, since I don't have the time and energy anymore to do an entire routine with lots of proucts, nor do I need it. So I use the exfoliating mask once a week and the EUK every evening and that's more than enough, next to my sunscreen and hidrating cream (from another brand). But I am still looking for something for my undereye darkness because if they were just a tiny bit less intense, i could live with it without using concealer anymore.
I am enjoying Buffet with Copper, my skin seems to really like it. I mix niacinamide powder in it. My skin has been amazing since using The Ordinary products.
you're wecome! not your fault, not many people know wish the brand did a better job with labeling and educating the public on ingredients and how to *properly* use a lot of their products
you re gullible and so easily brain-washed!!!! i ve used it with a great succes..i put the serum at night and in the morning i wake up fresh...and i have really dark/black eye circles
I am the BIGGEST fan of Pycnogenol by The Ordinary! I do use the buffet because I’m in the 30s. I have the hyaluronic acid, I do like the way that feels on my skin for some reason, as long as my skin in DAMP! But pycnogenol has been such a standout for me. Never tried hyaluronic in my hair! But I do have the rose hip seed oil and I use that for my curls since I’m in a really humid climate and have fine hair so that doesn’t weigh it down at all.
Thank you for your prompt reply. The new microphones will help. You are very understandable. The little accent you have is sweet. It doesn't take away from what your statements.
Sure am glad I decided to watch this before I used the AHA + BHA mask I just got in the mail today! Went ahead and ordered the mandelic and lactic acid to use first. I DO NOT want to risk my skin getting any worse than it already is. I am so grateful for you making this video and sharing your knowledge with us Reza

Hey! Sorry if you've already fixed this but wanted to let you know your video volume is quite low and then the ads interspersed come on really loud, you might wanna up your video volume to equalise it so the ads arent overwhelming for people :) Great video though thankyou for making these!
hey! i apologize for the low volume - i was filming on my phone and i don't have fancy equipment, so volume was neglected during editing (i don't know if there's a way to fix that on a video that's already uploaded??) i can't control the ads, but i will be more cautious of volume going forward! or save up money for better filming gear lol but thank you for watching!
The video is really useful since I wanted to try new products from TO. My experience with TO: I have rosacea, this disease dries my skin even if I have combination skin. HA serum had a horrible consistency but worked, I'm now using the inkey list's one and even if the consistency and the formulation are better, I'm not satisfied... I guess I'll try the marine hyaluronic next. The cleanser is good, but I hated how long it took me to make it change its consistency! The azelaic acid has the worst consistency, it feels awful on the skin for me, but I have to say it calms my flare-ups. I didn't see any long term results because I haven't been consistent. The mandelic acid is good, brightened my skin and it is really gentle, but I think I need to associate it to a BHA to see some results on my pores. The NMF is a good cream and it absorbs quickly. I preferred it in the summer, it does nothing for my dry skin right now, so I had to associate it to the rosehip oil. I hope to be helpful to people with rosacea like me because there are so many products we can't use, sometimes it gets discouraging :(
hi! thank you for watching :) everyone's skin is different! don't stress yourself out if products from the brand don't work for you. there are plenty of other options out there, TO isn't the only brand in the world!
Just started using 4 products two weeks ago. I had no allergic reaction which was a pleasant surprise. I am allergic to cane sugar products and lavender. It took forever to read everything but I was so grateful to have it available
Thank you for telling the truth about HA!!! So many recommend it but fail to mention it can actually dry out the skin if the air is dry. When I wrote Deciem asking why the HA wasn't working they just blamed the customer (applied too much, didn't apply on damp skin, etc) 🤦🏻♀️
dry air isn't *that* detrimental when using HA, you just have to make sure it's applied to damp skin, paired with a moisturizer, etc. that said, some people still *do* notice a negative difference when doing all of the above correctly in dry climates, so it differs for everyone!
@@henrysmith180 people using HA as a moisturizer is a very common misconception! it's not just deciem, a lot of brands, beauty editors, etc. are guilty of perpetuating this
I really appreciate how thorough and honest these reviews are. As someone who unfortunately found your videos after buying a bunch of The Ordinary products- I just learned that you aren't supposed to combine vitamin c, AHAs (mandelic) and retinols...whoops.. I know now to just use antioxidants for daytime. For nighttime, what is more worth it, or how should one alternate between their AHA and retinol?
hey! thanks for watching :) yeah you don't want to layer vit c/AHAs/vit a in the same routine (exfoliation followed by a retinol, for example) technically, you can combine those ingredients together, but the risk for irritation is *very* high; lots of brands have products with these ingredients formulated together (like retinol + vit c together), that's a lot safer! if you really want to get the benefits of these actives at once, go for a formulation like that, don't try to experiment and layer separate products yourself AHAs and retinol do different things - AHAs are for exfoliation, and retinols are for resurfacing and cell turnover. if you're looking to treat texture and congestion, AHAs 1-2x a week at night are good. if you have aging concerns, some acne, or hyperpigmentation, retinols are better. some people do use both ingredients in the same week, but that depends on the person's skin concerns. i recommend a consult with a pro to figure out which one of these is right for your particular concerns!
This video helped alot thank you soo soo much..... im trying to rebuild my ordinary routine and didn't know what to get, add and take out and this helped again thank you and I want your hair lol hahahha!!!!!
So informative, thank you! Takes out the guess work out of TO products. I agree with the hyaluronic acid, it’s a bit of a miss. It’s become an overly available ingredient in so many skincare products now but people don’t necessarily know how it works and can actually dry out the skin even more (it has actually irritated my skin). I prefer a glycerin-based humectant- I hope TO would consider developing a straightforward glycerin serum/solution. Hello from the UK 🇬🇧
I have never.. ever.. tried any skin care in my 24 years of life lol I literally wash my face, morning and night, with a bar of soap. That's it. Is there any product(s) you'd recommend for a complete beginner from TO? I have no acne, my skin isn't sensitive at all, nor is it oily or dry. I think I'd want to try a retinol and something to brighten my skin if possible/anything you suggest? You must get so many questions, I'm sorry to add to them! I really appreciate your video, seriously ❤ you are so generous to share your time and expertise with us all, thank you 😊
thank you for watching! and no worries, i like talking to you all lol so don't feel bad about asking questions of course, i can't give a full, proper consultation because i'm not a pro, so i'll just stick to giving general advice: -what bar soap are you using to cleanse? there's only one or "soaps" that are okay to use on the face, the rest are no good, so i suggest switching to a gentle face wash (wldkat makes a good one, and so does cerave) -for brightening/evening out skin tone, you can use a couple of things: vit c, AHA, or retinol - which one is right for you, depending on your skin, an esthetician would be able to tell you best! that said, 24 is a good time to start using retinol (i started at 23 for acne, hyperpigmentation, and texture mainly but anti-aging as well)
@@RezaFarhin Aww haha I'm glad 🥰 thanks again. Ummm I would be lying if I said I knew what brand it was 😂 don't cry, but I think it's just a cheap supermarket hand soap bar LOL so don't worry, any skin care would be better than what I do now. My skin in surprisingly alright 95% of the time somehow. I'll definitely have a look at those ones you suggested though. Ah okay, I'll do more research on retinol, I'm really interested in anti ageing stuff, glad it's worked for you! You are glowing 💕
Great video! I love the Ordinary! For some reason The Buffet (the regular one) breaks me out, & there is not much that breaks me out but this did. 🤔🤷🏼♀️
Ive never used aha before and j jumped straight to the bha aha peel it purged the crap out of my skin really painful but at the sixth week my skin started to clear up no irritation for me amazing everyone’s different..thank you for all this info
I’m the same age as you and just starting on my Ordinary journey I was trying to decide which of the Buffet products to order...... do you think the Buffet with Copper Peptides is worth the extra cost? Its $48.00 in Australia
@@sulakaricats I definitely think the copper peptides are worth it. The Hylamide range has a copper peptide serum as well named SubQ Skin. I was considering changing to that although I have two still to get through of the Ordinary copper peptide. I believe it's still 23% off any items across the whole Deciem site?? US the Hylamide SubQ Skin is 16 dollars and change. In the past I tried the basic Buffet and it sat unused, shame.
They do still have the 23% off on their website. I just got the Hylamide Copper peptide X2 to give it a go after I'm done using the rest of my Ordinary copper p.

I discovered your channel yesterday, Reza, through the Niod video (I’m a fan of that brand) and have been binge watching since then ! you are so knowledgeable and you voice is so soothing (plus, you are beautiful). keep on going, this channel is going to be huge :)
The one you don’t recommend are the ones I can afford at the moment, if I have the privilege to choose non sticky version of hyaluronic & “not so good quality” of Niacinamide I would not be using what I have now. I live in a country where humid is almost nonexistent, even in summer humidity is in smaller percentage than other countries....Therefore whenever I’m using TO’s Hyaluronic acid, I would mist the area around my face with any water & homemade rose water on my face before application so some of the water can be “sucked” into my face. In the shower, I don’t wipe my face dry after face wash to keep my face as wet as possible while applying Hyaluronic acid. I also apply moisturiser as soon as possible to retain whatever that applied on my face. Thank you for your insights, it helps me a lot!
thank you for watching!! and that's exactly how you should be using HA (and all products in a routine): keep your face damp and mist throughout doing your routine to maintain the dampness, it helps with hydration and absorption (and moisturize to seal it all in) you're doing great!!
Thank you for the info! They really should change the names of certain products for consumer comprehension. If it says toner I assume it’s a toner not just acid on my face. I just ordered these products, hoping to get results 🙏🏾
Interesting. I used HA and it caused perioral dermatitis. The UK is pretty dry in Summer and in Winter we are inside most of the time with central heating so that might explain why it’s not good for my skin.
I just discovered your channel now. This is exactly what I needed now because I have almos all of TO products, and a fee NIOD, ABNORMAL, etc... AWESOME ! Now I can figure out what to use with what, and what not to mix. I also want to work on a nice DAY & NIGHT skin care routine.
Also....it would make sense to not block the Humectant properties of HA by covering it in OILS, right? I was told by a Hungarian esthetician w incredible skin to ALWAYS use a water based moisturizer immediately after your HA treatment and let it absorb for a few minutes Before any oils or serum, as oil puts a boundary to not only losing the water from your skin, but your skin being able to absorb any from the environment as a humectant as well.
it's not necessary to put on moisturizer right away after you apply HA - as long as you apply it at the end, you're fine lol i'm not sure how putting on moisturizer first and serums after would make sense - you're not getting any of the benefits of the serums if moisturizer is in the way. it's like putting on your shirt on top of your jacket oils also aren't moisturizing, they're more like a moisturizer topper
Hi! I am currently studying biochemistry and when you said about seeing people that study biochemistry it gave me hope because I thought it would be really hard to get to that point by only doing the course! So my question would be how can I also get involved in the company and also do they recruit biochemistry graduates with no masters (cosmetic science masters) and how easy/hard is it ? Thank you in advance!!
hey! if you want to work at the store associate level, they don't really look at your education history; many of my colleagues were studying things like biochemistry, dermatology, esthetics, etc. and it def helped them personally when learning about the products and helping customers (helped us out too!), but that wasn't something deciem was looking for when hiring however, if you want to work in their lab, then i'm pretty sure they're going to look at your education lol i don't know their hiring requirements regarding their scientists, especially because all of that happens in toronto (canada's licensing/work requirements are most likely different than the US as well), but i think reaching out to them personally with what requirements they need would be the best thing to do! i know one of their scientists (prudvi, i think his name is) did an AMA recently and people asked him how he got his job, but i don't think he answered :(
@@RezaFarhin You are amazing, thank you for the detailed reply I really appreciate and will do what you suggested!! Thank you again and I hope this works out!!
I loved the hyaluronic acid when my skin was dry. It plumped & smoothed my skin after one use. I stopped using it daily & can’t tell a difference now that my skin is normal. LOVE the rose hip oil! I do one layer of moisturizing factors, then I put 2 drops in my Cerave lotion every night & it is really good. The caffein eye serum DRIED my eyes sooo bad! You’re the first I’ve heard say it. Just got the lactic acid, granactive retinoid emulsion, & ascorbic acid to try. I’ve already been using adapalene & 8% glycolic acid for a long time.. so not sure if I need these. I use the azelaic acid like a spot treatment. I don’t think I’ll repurchase from TO. I like the ingredient just not the formulation so much.
hey! if you've been using glycolic and enjoying it, no need to scale down to the lactic (unless the glycolic was irritating, then in that case move down to the lactic/something gentler); both are AHAs, glycolic is stronger than lactic is the adapalene prescribed or is it differin? either way, talk to a pro to see which one would be more effective for you
@@RezaFarhin well shucks! I used to think I had sensitive skin. But apparently it isn’t sensitive to acids! I didn’t like the lactic acid bc like you said I’m used to stronger. Just heard so much about it you wanted to try it. But there’s just no room for it. I do enjoy the retinoid emulsion so will keep it. Not sure I’ll repurchase tho. I will use it on days off from adapalene or if I ever have dry skin again. I think I used the hyaluronic acid serum about one year. HA us in my Cerave lotion so no need for it really.
@@Jezebel066 no need to use two different vitamin A products together! just choose one or the other if the HA in your moisturizer is enough for you, then you can just stick to that - as long as you're getting hydration in some way!

I have dry skin and love all the ordinary oils and think the is quality and price are unbeatable. You have a great description of the difference between hydration and moisturizing. Thank you so much.
And THANK YOU for mentioning how HA dries skin in a dry climate. This is not talked about enough!
Thank you for the information. I have used the Ordinary for many years and love it. Buffet is my favorite.
So glad your video popped up whilst I was scrolling through RUclips. I have watched so many RUclipsrs talking about TO over the last few years, but I learned more in this one video than in all the others combined. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge; can't tell you how helpful I found it. Going to watch Part 2 right now!
this means so much, thank you! ♥
What's TO?

People are shocked, yet she’s s former employed. Dhu. It’s called 1st hand experience as she actually worked for the company. Jeeze.
😂💛
Reza, thank you for sharing all your knowledge about the Ordinary products. The best I have heard on RUclips. You must have been a fantastic asset to the Ordinary company.
This video is brilliant! Thank you so much for explaining so much!
glad it was helpful!
Easy to watch, thank you. Useful time stamps and notes on screen.
Super informative! Thank you! I watched the whole thing and now going to look for part 2 😅😊
I'm glad I found your video, very informative and I took note!
I am enjoying Buffet with Copper, my skin seems to really like it. I mix niacinamide powder in it. My skin has been amazing since using The Ordinary products.
These videos are amazing and so helpful. Thank you!
thank you!
I wish I watched your vid before buying the Caffeine, it gave me crow's feet too !! Thanks a lot for this valuable info.
you're wecome!
not your fault, not many people know
wish the brand did a better job with labeling and educating the public on ingredients and how to *properly* use a lot of their products

But I do have the rose hip seed oil and I use that for my curls since I’m in a really humid climate and have fine hair so that doesn’t weigh it down at all.
i really liked pycnogenol! last i checked, i think TO did away with it? :(
Thank you for this honest review!
You have saved me. From getting the caffeine serum.
For hyaluronic acid, I love the hadalabo brand (japanese).
hado labo is a great brand :)

I used Hyaluronic Acid and it's true it DOES PULL water from the environment. Once it was raining and I was under my umbrella, and due to the Hyaluronic Acid pull it started raining UNDER the umbrella. I don't recommend this product unless you don't mind rain
this is so interesting! never heard about this happening :o
Hey! Sorry if you've already fixed this but wanted to let you know your video volume is quite low and then the ads interspersed come on really loud, you might wanna up your video volume to equalise it so the ads arent overwhelming for people :)
Great video though thankyou for making these!
Also thanks to you I now know it's the HA that is causing my products to ball up! I'll definitely sub for the marine ones when I next order :D
hey!
i apologize for the low volume - i was filming on my phone and i don't have fancy equipment, so volume was neglected during editing (i don't know if there's a way to fix that on a video that's already uploaded??)
i can't control the ads, but i will be more cautious of volume going forward! or save up money for better filming gear lol
but thank you for watching!
i hope it works out!
I hope to be helpful to people with rosacea like me because there are so many products we can't use, sometimes it gets discouraging :(
hi! thank you for watching :)
everyone's skin is different! don't stress yourself out if products from the brand don't work for you. there are plenty of other options out there, TO isn't the only brand in the world!
Have you found any products that helped with your dryness?
@@cerealis_5432 not yet, I think I'll try mineral 89 by vichy and see if something a little more expensive can help.

@@RezaFarhin Yeah, they failed to mention the need to follow with moisturizer too. That was a game changer!!
@@henrysmith180 people using HA as a moisturizer is a very common misconception! it's not just deciem, a lot of brands, beauty editors, etc. are guilty of perpetuating this
You’re skin is amazing
I really appreciate how thorough and honest these reviews are. As someone who unfortunately found your videos after buying a bunch of The Ordinary products- I just learned that you aren't supposed to combine vitamin c, AHAs (mandelic) and retinols...whoops..
I know now to just use antioxidants for daytime. For nighttime, what is more worth it, or how should one alternate between their AHA and retinol?
hey! thanks for watching :)
yeah you don't want to layer vit c/AHAs/vit a in the same routine (exfoliation followed by a retinol, for example)
technically, you can combine those ingredients together, but the risk for irritation is *very* high; lots of brands have products with these ingredients formulated together (like retinol + vit c together), that's a lot safer! if you really want to get the benefits of these actives at once, go for a formulation like that, don't try to experiment and layer separate products yourself
AHAs and retinol do different things - AHAs are for exfoliation, and retinols are for resurfacing and cell turnover. if you're looking to treat texture and congestion, AHAs 1-2x a week at night are good. if you have aging concerns, some acne, or hyperpigmentation, retinols are better. some people do use both ingredients in the same week, but that depends on the person's skin concerns. i recommend a consult with a pro to figure out which one of these is right for your particular concerns!
@@RezaFarhin thank you so much for your response! Very helpful!!
You did a good job explaining. Thanks for a very informative video!

This video helped alot thank you soo soo much..... im trying to rebuild my ordinary routine and didn't know what to get, add and take out and this helped again thank you and I want your hair lol hahahha!!!!!
lol i’m glad it helped!
and thank you 🤗
@@RezaFarhin thank you again!!!!
Hello from the UK 🇬🇧
glad it helped! :)
I really appreciate your video, seriously ❤ you are so generous to share your time and expertise with us all, thank you 😊
thank you for watching!
and no worries, i like talking to you all lol so don't feel bad about asking questions
of course, i can't give a full, proper consultation because i'm not a pro, so i'll just stick to giving general advice:
-what bar soap are you using to cleanse? there's only one or "soaps" that are okay to use on the face, the rest are no good, so i suggest switching to a gentle face wash (wldkat makes a good one, and so does cerave)
-for brightening/evening out skin tone, you can use a couple of things: vit c, AHA, or retinol - which one is right for you, depending on your skin, an esthetician would be able to tell you best! that said, 24 is a good time to start using retinol (i started at 23 for acne, hyperpigmentation, and texture mainly but anti-aging as well)
@@RezaFarhin Aww haha I'm glad 🥰 thanks again.

that's interesting that buffet broke you out!
Ive never used aha before and j jumped straight to the bha aha peel it purged the crap out of my skin really painful but at the sixth week my skin started to clear up no irritation for me amazing everyone’s different..thank you for all this info

The Hyaluronic acid 2%+B5 is excellent! It’s not goopy and it hydrates well, it’s perfect for more mature skin!
This is like a master class.

I just turned 60 and have been loving the Buffet Copper peptides serum. I am on my second bottle and just ordered another.
glad you're loving it! :)

@@RezaFarhin thank you ☺ I wish you can do a video recommend brands for these products
Tank you very much for these great explanations. I wish i would have seen it prior to ordering several products.
This deserves to be upvoted to infinity!!!!
Super informative bout the ordinary products.
Love your skin glow !
Thank you for your insights, it helps me a lot!
thank you for watching!!
and that's exactly how you should be using HA (and all products in a routine): keep your face damp and mist throughout doing your routine to maintain the dampness, it helps with hydration and absorption (and moisturize to seal it all in)
you're doing great!!

Thank you for the info! They really should change the names of certain products for consumer comprehension. If it says toner I assume it’s a toner not just acid on my face. I just ordered these products, hoping to get results 🙏🏾
i agree! we reached out them about it several times but never seemed to get a response
Interesting. I used HA and it caused perioral dermatitis. The UK is pretty dry in Summer and in Winter we are inside most of the time with central heating so that might explain why it’s not good for my skin.
that's so interesting, i'm sorry that happened! where you able to figure out why the HA caused that?
@@RezaFarhin Afraid not. I got cream from my doctor which cleared it up but every time I use something with HA in it the dermatitis returns.
THANK YOU Reza!!!!
I just discovered your channel now. This is exactly what I needed now because I have almos all of TO products, and a fee NIOD, ABNORMAL, etc...
AWESOME ! Now I can figure out what to use with what, and what not to mix. I also want to work on a nice DAY & NIGHT skin care routine.
glad the videos helped! :)
What daytime and nighttime regime do you recommend for someone who is 65?
this is a little vague - what are your exact concerns?
Really love your honesty thank you
Also....it would make sense to not block the Humectant properties of HA by covering it in OILS, right? I was told by a Hungarian esthetician w incredible skin to ALWAYS use a water based moisturizer immediately after your HA treatment and let it absorb for a few minutes Before any oils or serum, as oil puts a boundary to not only losing the water from your skin, but your skin being able to absorb any from the environment as a humectant as well.
it's not necessary to put on moisturizer right away after you apply HA - as long as you apply it at the end, you're fine lol
i'm not sure how putting on moisturizer first and serums after would make sense - you're not getting any of the benefits of the serums if moisturizer is in the way. it's like putting on your shirt on top of your jacket
oils also aren't moisturizing, they're more like a moisturizer topper
Thank you in advance!!
hey! if you want to work at the store associate level, they don't really look at your education history; many of my colleagues were studying things like biochemistry, dermatology, esthetics, etc. and it def helped them personally when learning about the products and helping customers (helped us out too!), but that wasn't something deciem was looking for when hiring
however, if you want to work in their lab, then i'm pretty sure they're going to look at your education lol
i don't know their hiring requirements regarding their scientists, especially because all of that happens in toronto (canada's licensing/work requirements are most likely different than the US as well), but i think reaching out to them personally with what requirements they need would be the best thing to do!
i know one of their scientists (prudvi, i think his name is) did an AMA recently and people asked him how he got his job, but i don't think he answered :(
@@RezaFarhin You are amazing, thank you for the detailed reply I really appreciate and will do what you suggested!!
Thank you again and I hope this works out!!
Could you do a video with your skincare routine?
yes i’m planning on it!
Great!
I like the ingredient just not the formulation so much.
hey!
if you've been using glycolic and enjoying it, no need to scale down to the lactic (unless the glycolic was irritating, then in that case move down to the lactic/something gentler); both are AHAs, glycolic is stronger than lactic
is the adapalene prescribed or is it differin? either way, talk to a pro to see which one would be more effective for you
@@RezaFarhin well shucks!
@@Jezebel066 no need to use two different vitamin A products together! just choose one or the other
if the HA in your moisturizer is enough for you, then you can just stick to that - as long as you're getting hydration in some way!
