Rugby 25 has been out for a week or so now and we have the second patch for the game. Several updates and improvements. In this video I'll run down the changes.

It’s almost like they have no one involved who actually plays rugby to help direct them with how it should look and feel.
It's an improvement of what it was but still no where near the standard a competitive sports game should be. Rucks need a major overhaul there's no competition or skill required so it's just not going to keep people playing
First impression in 20 seconds of gameplay is that players joining the ruck looks a lot quicker and makes it feel less clunky.
The players body shapes are all the same, needs fixing 😔
Tackle animations need to change asap on the next big update..they should get rid of those league esque tackles, body height still way too high..and tbe passing still floaty . Rucks a bit better but still slow as the tackler stands up before the animations for the ruck triggers. They need to do a lot
The crowd don’t even move, least in rugby 08 they did
With all the news of rugby 25 I've been playing a bit of rugby challenge 4. While Rc4 had issues mainly with limited licensing and feeling much more arcady. I'm not convinced this game is going to reach that games quality. I think RC4 has underrated rucking mechanics.
I think the main problem is that they have League mad Australians making a union game. They have no clue on how bad they are and do not understand the gane. Rugby 06/08 is infinitely better than this.
No the team are all rugby fans apparently.
Better but still so much work to be done. The passing is still all over the show the rucks looks like its league
I actually do like how they run unlike rugby 22. Need to get rid of the rugby league tackling though and need to change the player sizes also.

N fifteen was great in this match as per usual
A bit better,scrum half faster at the ruck but looks like ball is still coming late out of it! Some ridiculous passes out there (can be maybe because of the ball carrier is not running straight ) ,i think they have to work on many more tackle animation so after they have a base so they can add offloads
I wish there was some actual players that put some input into this game. If only EA would make a one off Rugby Game for the modern era of games
Im ready to let rugby 25 go. Its not going to happen. Such a pitty with all their licensing.

In a time with all this head contact business - odd that all the tackles are chest on chest... because it's a shit reskin of a league game.

Unfortunately starting to lose faith in BA developers, have they played or understand rugby?. I still have a bit of faith left but shits running out. Gameplay is 1 step forward 2 steps back after 9 months of photogrammetry only delay. Did they only just start with programming gameplay at EA. Well well behind on anything remotely decent….. 😢
The gameplay from the computer is atrocious. Fucking around in their own 22.
The defence is utterly impenetrable with players floating to their left/right to close gaps in a millisecond.
I still like rugby 22 more. I know there's still more updates to come but if this is what we have so far we still have a long way to go. Slow rucking, passes unrealistic, slow game play as scrumhalf still takes too long. Something is off about the field as well
That was utterly painful to watch. There appears to be not one rugby union player amongst the development team. Im sure heaps on here would put their hands to assist in development should the team enquire.
I feel like the tackles are unrealistic, how can every tackle be a double hit and how can they drive the ball carrier back in every tackle, that's not realistic

Everyone is trying to justify this game by saying no it's only early access but we had to wait extremely long for a game that still isn't officially out yet, I understand the licensing issues but I'd still play rugby 08. If they mix rugby 22, Challenge 4 and 08 with a bit of league this game would've been perfect 😔

Even the commentators sound bored having to watch this drivel! Where are the turn overs, the offloads? Ruck has zero depth or strategy, the animations look clunky. Close up game looks good, but looks like a mobile game at distance. Passing is all over the place, no penalties, no set plays, no flat passing or running onto the ball. Scrum half way to slow, ball always slow coming out of rucks. No mauls. I mean, it’s unbelievable how shallow this game is.

For those unaware, the animations and camera angles of almost the entirety of this game looks to be based of a game called rugby league live 4. This looks like a case of copy and paste for union… I think the developers are the same people that made rll4 which isn’t a bad game but this is union 😂
Yep, and they lied to all rugby fans over a year ago when they said they were focusing on gameplay. Kept saying delays are due them wanting to release “the best ever rugby game”, to get this is a straight up slap to the face. This was their focus and they gave us a quick hash of RLL4.

For me the commentators are boring, and they keep saying the same things over and over again, and at the same time, contradicting themselves. Nothing i hate more than bad commentary. Last kick is a kick even a toddler can do, "but its not the easiest of kicks". Should have left them out and focus on the fundamentals of the game instead. Like penalties

At this point give us rugby 22 mechanics with a proper career mode... this is terrible 😢
This is horrendous! The players don’t turn their bodies when they pass. They run funny and the gameplay is just sad man. Jonah Lomu Rugby on PS1 was more fluent than this and had better tackle animations.
They should look at Madden and Rugby 8 if they want to see what a tackle looks like. If the Rugby Challenge series had rugby 08 tackle physics then it would have been an amazing series. This game is wrong and bad
It doesn't even remotely look realistic. They're bang on with the player faces but the positioning is so far off man. Players are just floating around. This is pre pre alpha. It's hard to be optimistic I don't see how they can improve this at all unless they take a year.
I’m sorry to say but this will never be a good game, however many updates. It’s rotten to the core, foundations just aren’t there.

I have the AFL game as a afl fan and I came to RUclips to see how the rugby game is going and its just as bad as a start as afl was. And it’s been over a year and a half since the real release and it’s still very bad and is still unfinished. They also make to many games at once so nothing will ever get better
Exactly, BA never been good at realistic gameplay no matter the game and their so called patches. Hiding behind early access, delaying tactics 😂
This has inherited all the bugs of rll4, a game that's what 7 years old? I don't think ba know how to make this game better, they've just copied code from rll4 and tried adding union aspects but somehow it plays much worse and with all the same bugs ie weird tackle animations and floaty passes
I mostly play fortnite. Have u compared the 1st season of fortnite to now it's latest season?

The tackle mechanics are pathetic. They only tackle high like they are hugging the player just like the RUGBY LEAGUE 4 game which that was also a joke. Why couldn't BIG ANT use the motion captures from RUGBY CHALLENGE? Those tackle mechanics were more realistic, they tackled low, you could feel a more realistic impact, from a front tackle to a side tackle to a drag down tackle, at least RUGBY CHALLENGE has that in spades against this crap.
