@@positive4ce No problem! Figured might as well be helpful after you have provided us entertainment 😄 Good list. Only had a few I would have moved, but nothing drastic lol

Haha thank you, yeah there are so many things that can be super busted like dragon hide and green armor together so it's hard to rank but but I feel like the list is pretty close on an item to item basis
Really nice explanations, thanks for putting this together! I learned a lot! Would be cool to see a video about snowballing act 1 in 4 player co-op. My group is only getting past the first boss maybe 50% of the time in our nightmare runs (and it's painfully slow)
@@MrMattersen The next guide I have going up is on getting faster clear speeds and I’ll mention co-op a bit but it should help if everyone is using the tips in it
Great Explanation, very helpful for a new Player - thanks! I'm sometimes still struggling to decide when to use my Rerolls, or how to balance Defense vs Offense..but just love this Game, excited for Updates in the Future
Glad this helped! My thought process on offense vs defense is to get mainly offensive things in chapter 1 or things to set you up like egg or coin. You want to be able to have enough things going for you to finish most of the points of interest and then let that carry you into chapter 2 and get some defense there. Defensive things to early might make your clears too slow
Great list, I'm glad you posted the long version. Really interesting to hear how your mindset has changed after doing the challenges. I see you put my favourite item Dragon Hide in niche, but that's ok, I agree :D. Btw, DH is the item that synergises best with Hourglass, since it makes it safer to stay at those low health levels rather than just heal up asap. Looking forward to the Scarlet run, gotta see how FoK wolf is REALLY supposed to look after being carried by your Mel.
That's true, dragon hide would be the thing to make Hourglass better but I normally pair it with 5+ green armor if I can and never see my heatlth drop under 70% haha. Maybe in the challenge runs though because I've had 200 armor and still been hit for half my health. And yeah scarlet run was pretty awesome, I have so much relief when I finally finished it
@@danics_0995 Thank you! And for holy grail I have it up there because in co-op there’s so much incentive for 2-3 people to have it and it’s almost necessary in the challenge runs. It use to be 10% which was a lot better as it could scale with vitality but if you’re going heavy armor builds it’s pretty good. But I also understand for solo nightmare, not super necessary
Yeah I recently started being able to beat Nightmare with my friend. We kinda already knew where most of these items were gonna rank, but I'm surprised about some like the Broomstick and Swan's Cloak. I'll give them a try next time I get a chance.
@@idkwatimdoingtbh You do have to be more intentional when you’re dashing if you take swan cloak and witches broom, but once you learn the playstyle they start to feel really strong
I'm another console player that's been waiting for the game. I've been watching your runs for months and learning so much and dying out of envy. Trying to prep as much as possible to shorten the time to graduate to nightmare and challenge runs as much as possible. Really, really appreciate it, thank you. Which of your character guides (from early access, so obviously not Carmilla) would you say are still mostly valid on 1.0 and which need a revisit? There are so many talents, magical objects and possible combinations on so many characters that I need to make a document listing each power / special / defense / etc. build on each character. I really love how you play with foresight as to what you're building towards, what you need and where you can get each from. I'd like to play like that and start playing that way without having to put in 300 hours 😅
The commitment! Thank you for the support! The game will take some getting used to enemy attack patterns and your I-frames, as well as how much time you’re able to spend at a given point. I’d say the guides are still pretty consistent, maybe not Wukong as that was the first vid I made and I’d add a lot more info if I go back and redo it. For Aladdin I’d want to emphasize how important Jinniya’s gift and master thief are, and that they work really well with sands of oblivion. In pied pipers I recommend chorus and low notes as the best build in the game, it’s still great but was nerfed a bit. Hope this is helpful! I’m going to work on a clear speed that I’m going to try to post the day the game releases on console which should help as well!
I'm fully agree considering your skills lvl . With my skill I just disagree with golden egg because I'm not good enough and I don't end up with enough gold to be worth it. But I'm bad at the game so it a me problem lol I'm just happy to understand the game enough to have pretty much the same idea of you.
@@Stross8 Golden egg is a long term item that will get better as the run goes on and the 30% dreamshards is really impactful, once you can get it going it will start to carry your runs
Voodoo doll isn't for you, it's for me. I still haven't cleared darkness with all characters, and will often struggle to get the snowball rolling. If I have a run where I'm struggling, the boss fight may be a problem. It will stretch on and on. I will periodically lose focus and mess up, so over time my hitpoints will trend downwards. If I feel behind the damage curve coming up on a boss, the voodoo doll is sometimes the best option. (This is made a little more likely by the fact that sometimes, an item will open up options and patterns to you, that I am just not good enough to consistently land. I will usually only take eternal rose if I already have some other components for a dash centered build, or if I'm feeling comfortable, and want to practice more complicated movement patterns.) Finally, I will sometimes pick up a voodoo doll as the least bad option (it's still mostly bad, but maybe nothing fits), because I've decided that this allows me to take a side quest/key boss a couple of minutes earlier, or without spending too much time. Hey presto, I have leveraged a common item into a 2-5 minute earlier epic/cursed item (if my guesstimation of my own capabilities is correct). This might be the only "real" use of it, is admittedly rare, and is yet another thing that is more common for me than for you, professional gamer beast that you are. When would YOU ever struggle with Cyclops or Omega Crab? Love your work, it's helping me a ton. (Edit (Can you tell I'm writing this as I go along?): It might not move their rating, but I was hoping you would at least comment on what I assume would be synergistic options for Goldilock's porridge and Unicorn horn (and maybe why it doesn't move the needle): Do their super effects not trigger whenever you have strength/regen for ANY reason? So Carmilla could take the talent that regenerates if you dip into health for power, stack some mermaid tears so it is more impactful, and who knows, maybe the starter that lets you reactivate trait to trade health for blood? Do Gepetto's dolls do more damage if they're regenerating due to a special bomb?)
@@blitzrep1654 Woah Geppetto’s dummies and horn of plenty super effect would be cool (I wish the base effect worked on dummies as well). But yeah for me the only case for voodoo doll is an early key boss like you said or if it’s in my chapter 3 or baba Yaga shop. My thought process is that if your boss fights are going to take a long time, then your camp clear speeds are most likely going to suffer as well. Taking an item that only fixes that problem in boss fights where you have no timer and get no rewards is counterproductive to the games design. Taking an ogre blood in chapter one might only give you 5 damage compared to the 15 that voodoo doll gives but ogre blood will be up all the time. And it will get better with time and help you in the following chapters. And as you play the game more, boss patterns will become a lot easier to read and your consistency with them will get better making voodoo doll tell valuable. If they ever decide to add a small percentage of damage to effect elite enemies as well then it would have a much better use case
Great tier list bro! Dash magic items are weak on it's own, but I think dash builds are the strongest ones if you are lucky. You can see my videos where I demolish bosses in seconds with dash builds.
@@yujirohanma7551 Agreed, any dash talent with eternal rose complete and 3x dash cooldown or dash charge is probably the strongest thing you could do right now, I think if you’re lucky with items, a dash build will outperform coin + egg but that’s just a lot more consistent. I generally completely agree with the list. Some nit-picking - I would put Green Armor to the bottom of "Very Good". Similarly, Swan cloak is on the S tier for me, maybe even SS if I am playing a hero with no other heals.

Good list but there are definitely some items that would be moved down on Nightmare, like you mentioned. Chainmail is such a fall from grace and almost never take it now.
