No it doesn’t they have to actually drive the cars now no downforce these cars drive a lot like the 90’s and it’s awesome. They have to learn throttle control now. The old car was so glued to the track they didn’t have to drive them fr. And they are still learning how far they can push these cars.
You're exactly right it's the same effect you get with a streetcar when you slam it on the ground to make it a lowrider and take the spoiler off the back of it bounces all over the place
Glad someone realizes that they should be able to save the car when it gets loose. It can be hard to drive but you need to be able to be on the limit and not be literally under the limit they have to be with this car. With this car, it literally snaps and is unpredictable. Unpredictable and snappy does not equal hard to drive.
It’s a different car for sure. Drivers are gonna have to learn to drive again instead of wide open 100% of the time like they’ve been the last few years. I love it. Makes it more of an art
@@HedgerowHeathen exactly. More finesse is needed to drive these cars. They’re not just glued to the ground. The competitiveness is there but these guys are gonna have to back off the throttle, use brake, and use the power and the wheel to manipulate the car to do what they need again. It’s great. I love it already. Just a learning curve.
NASCAR FANS: We want a car that is harder for the drivers to control Also Nascar fans: Nooooooooooooo They are spinning in practice and qualifying there is something wrong with the cars they suck REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Of course it is , but so is crossing the street. That doesn’t mean I lay down in the middle and get run over . It’s like they have a new product and will iron out the bugs as they go . Hey, they are stock cars after all. Just like new cars models , never buy the first year . Someone is going to get seriously hurt in one of these cars .
This actually reminds me of classic later 90s - 2000s racing. Very sidey and tough to drive fast and Loose setups = Faster. The car looks to have too much underbody downforce and is bouncing off the track.
That track is done. It had its prime racing. Two years off messed it up more. Cars were sliding in turn three for three days. They’re not going to pay to repave all that millions of dollars and then you wait another 10 years for it to be good again. I think the city is giving them heat because they don’t have anyone lined up to buy the land they want to sell. That lot is huge and they’re going to shrink it down considerably. In the middle of industrial, so word is the city wants a buyer before okaying the short track transition.
Too little sidewall, can't tell when it's gonna go. Interesting and should be fun to watch but I fear Nascar will add more downforce instead of sticking with the taller sidewall. I think that would help them feel the car before it completely gives out and slides. Just my 2 cents
No it won’t it’s qualifying they are pushing the car really hard and these cars are really awesome to see. No downforce which is great now you will see who can drive throttle control is very key now something they haven’t had to doin a long time I like it like this.
I think they should have kept gen 6 2021 cars and made gen 7 in 2023 Bc The cars aren’t finished in my opinion the tires fall off and the pop to easy that’s just my opinion
when they announced they are building a road race car for NASCAR .. my prediction was.. NASCAR goes all road coarse's in the future. They're trying so hard to be formula-one and going worldwide.. Americans are the only one who like oval racing.. Europeans talk crazy shit about it.. so I see them totally eliminating them in the future and going with some piece of shit hybrid motor or full Electric
Flips happen literally every year. When they slide sideways the tires pop thats a given. Rear end breaking is a mechanical issue im sure is being figured out. No ones gonna die.
This car is junk, it’s going to kill someone. This is not the solution to any problems. The diffuser and the sled under the car are also causing problems. Man, these things are just a huge waste of money.
Over reaction much? You must be new to NASCAR? Back in the day there were always wrecks in practice, qualifying. It’s the third race this car has ever done, slow your roll. Time will tell
These aren't a waste of money, they're much cheaper and standardized, furthermore it's not gonna kill anyone, it's forcing people to be more cautious. Thirdly, this is what should happen when you push a car over the limit, this car rewards skill and I love that, unfortunately they aren't given enough time to practice to have that skill for every track. So they need to give 60-120mins instead of 15 mins if they want this to work
This tire has a problem.
Oh my god, this blew up. Thank you all for this!!
no

they actually have to drive now no issues whatsoever

Yeah, I think it'll separate the real wheel men from the steering wheel holders.

crazy how much changes in a year
It’s not crashing, it’s drifting with style!
"Jeff's got into the grass" as Byron spins..... did somebody forget Jeff Gordon hasn't driven the 24 in years?
Seems so lol
I believe he said "Just got into the grass" reporting what happened to the car.
I was told he said just got in the grass
No one said Jeff! He said just got it in in grass
he said just.
1:17 that sound 🔥🔥🔥
Its just called a learning process. That's what this is. It's the only way to learn in real time

Amen, someone is going to die in one of these cars .
@@Pop_Hockenbush Let's not pretend racing isn't inherently dangerous as hell
I don't care they're spinning in practice, I do care that these flat tires are basically gonna end guys races though.

Matt “Yaw” Kenseth
NASCAR giving teams & drivers 15 mins of practice with a new car is pretty dumb…
Personally, I agree.
More time would have equaled more wrecked cars.
@@braedonshelton2305 there gonna wreck 50 times in the race. I can feel it!
Good to hear Matt back.
I’m sub 100 btw
this thing really sounds badass tho
Chastain absolutely hammered the wall.
About damn time they have a car that’s actually difficult to drive
If you’re not sideways you’re not pushing enough

Joey Slowgono making the video.
They gotta learn how to drive the cars no instead of just full throttle and little brake
Yeah this new car will take some getting used too.
They should of fixed the bumps in the corners.
I swear it took them 2 hours to qualify because of all these wrecks
What about Ross Chastains wreck?
I couldn’t find a good angle for that one.
Where is the 1 and 17?
Couldn’t find a good angle for it

Lol did these guys forget there not running 550 hp anymore 😅
crew chiefs better tighten up these cars for the race or no cars will finish the race
So happy I got tickets to this race. It should be a Shitshow
TOKYO DRIFTTTTTT
Bubba Wallace eat them Wheaties he will end up like Bruce Jenner
Be Wanda Wallace
At least Mr fake hate crime bubba Smollett crashed again 🤡🤡😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Second place last week. You must have hated it. Hopefully he kicks ass this year
@David Price, still stuck in 2020 huh??

No, they've made a lot of safety improvements since Dale died. The drivers just have to get used to the new car.
