Dear Shirley Kirsten, SO SOULFUL SOOTHING RENDITION!!!!! Thank you for my favourite Scarlatti and his delightful Sonata in as always an excellent your performance, of course, the next my big "like-thumb up-upvote" 14 for this great video, again my best wishes from Poland, have a relaxing weekend. Joanna
WOW! Oh Shirley!!! First of all, I looked at all I had missed and thought, "Where do I start"? Then I saw you were attacking some delicious Scarlatti pieces. I immediately searched to see if you had done the brilliant K. 466 and yes, you had!! I am in heaven! This is my favorite of Scarlatti's pieces and haven't played it myself in very many years. You play this so masterfully and emotionally with all the brilliance of a concert pianist and the best performance I have ever heard to date. I absolutely loved your delicious dynamics and perfect rhythm and pacing of an old favorite! Your voices are so well-stated and your pedal work is incredible. A big bravo for this one Shirley....really, really great! There is so much going on in this piece and you totally nailed it. Really feels nice to be back here again. I'll be visiting quite a lot I think as I missed too much! HUGS, ~Jackie
Dear Jackie, Thanks for such a kind and generous response to this Scarlatti posting. Your comments are special and treasured. With deep appreciation, Hugs, Shirley
@@ShirleyKirsten You are so welcome! I just can't say enough good things about this one as I know what it takes with this piece to render a performance like yours. I think this may be my new favorite from you! I really and truly loved it....really moving. ~Jackie
Hi Shirley! Beautifull performance bravo! I just have one year piano practice and this piece is my Holly Graal!!! I hope one day I can play it as good as you do :) Thanks for sharing with the world!!! You earned one more follower :)
you play very similarly to how my piano teacher taught me how to play. With grace. She would make me practise certain techniques over and over until i perfected them
Beautifully played! And so much for the idea that Scarlatti wrote only fast movements: this Sonata evokes the Empfindsamkeit of the North Germans, does it not?
Grazie Shirley , sei fantastica!
oh my goodness Shirley...this is so beautiful!!! thank you for sharing
Very touching. Marvel.
Sooo beautiful! Can’t wait for Scarlatti from you

Absolutamente maravillosa!. Ese tempo en calma es justo el que le da fuerza a esta pieza. Gracias, Shirley.

Thank you.. This one is definitely another poignant dimension of the composer's expression, as is well partnered with the D minor pastoral. K. 9

Thanks for sharing..
I love your Scarlatti interpretations. Have you ever recorded k69 , I’m working on it at the moment.
I have not studied K. 69.. But yes to K. 87
Wonderful interpretation and beautiful sound! What piano is it?
Thank you! It's a Baldwin 165 that I purchased NEW in 2015.. It does have a very warm tone, is well voiced, and regulated.
Thanks! Good things for everyone.

Thank you, Dan. I think you're right on point.
What are North German? Empfindsamkeit? Scarlatti...
Very nice. May i ask if you used pedal?
yes----a very lyrical, expressive work like this in a slow tempo requires pedaling.
