Listening to this now while I'm in quarantine. Damn it, those good old days. The smell of hair spray and those crazy tight jeans. Now I feel so young and so old at the same time.
I can still remember vividly way back 80’s Señora Del Ray released this no.1 hit song for 36 weeks and blocked Madonna’s Like a Virgin and Like a prayer. So Madonna got soooo mad and plotted to kill her (1st stiletto impalement, 2nd Studio 54 heroine overdose & 3rd assassination in Bronx) and she did succeeded on her third attempt. There was nationwide black out from radio stations to tv networks during her mourning and the newspapers were filled with headlines like “YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL found dead”. Years passed by and Madonna admitted her crimes and was acquitted and she released an album “Ray of Light” as tribute to Señora del Ray hence the “RAY” word. So sad she died at a young age of 28.

I grew up in the 80s and remember a whole bunch of the music but for some reason I don't even remember hearing this song until a few years ago. So glad I found it, it's awesome.

I can still remember vividly way back 80’s Señora Del Ray released this no.1 hit song for 36 weeks and blocked Madonna’s Like a Virgin and Like a prayer. So Madonna got soooo mad and plotted to kill her (1st stiletto impalement, 2nd Studio 54 heroine overdose & 3rd assassination in Bronx) and she did succeeded on her third attempt. There was nationwide black out from radio stations to tv networks during her mourning and the newspapers were filled with headlines like “YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL found dead”. Years passed by and Madonna admitted her crimes and was acquitted and she released an album “Ray of Light” as tribute to Señora del Ray hence the “RAY” word.
So sad she died at a young age of 28.
