There's something wrong with your review. First of all, I don't know much about action cameras but searching RUclips for a review on the Apeman A80 shows this video on the top of the list with some others. Every other video in the top search shows a much better picture than your Apeman A80. Your 1080p on the A80 looks incredibly grainy and very un-1080p. If I had to guess, you either have a faulty A80 or you don't have it configured correctly. Also a quick edit, your review would probably be better if you reviews it on a sunny day. To be honest both the GoPro and A80 footage you shot looks washed out and depressing.
This wasn't a review as much as it was a comparison of using the two cameras when attached to a backpack clip to use hands free. When stabilized the A80 I bought didn't look as bad (it performed pretty much like every video using it does on YT), but as soon as you use it hands free it's utter garbage as I've shown. Perhaps I had a bad unit but I doubt it, for my use case the lack of stability and its inability to cope with sudden movements without significant distortion along with the fake 4K make this thing barely worth $5 let alone $80 for me.
I have an A80 and it is similar quality to what was shown here. It does really well in bright light, but looks very grainy on cloudy days. It looks like the GoPro does way better in low-light situations.
I run the a80 on my side by side and it's likely the worst case scenario for it as the camera visibily shakes bad as I'm driving but if you watch my videos it's pretty smooth and I never edited it to be either
I've been using the Apeman A80 for nearly 4 years now, and my quality isn't bouncy (hands free) at all. Maybe I should look into the Apeman to see if it's an upgraded version for the A80. My 1080p with the stabilization effected added works as well as the GoPro HERO 7 if it was not stabilized. Although I do have a complaint about the case for it. It becomes very lose after the first few months in using it. The lock had came undone while I was swimming and I almost lost it. Overall I believe the apeman should get the credit for being a good camera for such a cheap price.
I use an Apeman to film my motorcycle rides. And the quality is much better and not "shaky" compared to his footage. Would definitely not pay for a GoPro compared to it.
Great video, thanks so much! I have the Apeman A80. It does the trick for me. I mostly use it for recording my bike commutes to work. If I could go back, however, I would probably shell out extra for a GoPro. The image quality is much better on cloudy days and, like you said, has better image stabilization. It would be much better for catching license plates of unruly drivers.
Wish, i'd have watched your video earlier. Since there are many videos out there, that shows the shiny side of the apeman, i bought it. But that's not real life. Since real live isn't always sunny, often it's cloudy many weeks in a row - and to be limited to 1080 to have stabilisation at all sucks too. Should have saved the money and waited a bit to get the Osmo action instead. Now i have one more cheap crap that's not much fun. Trying to make videos is time consuming. From that angle the a80 is a big waste of lifetime, the price-difference to a good camera is equalized out in almoust no time, since nobody is interested in mediocre quality videos, unless the contained info is essential. Good for child's use though. Not much spent for a toy, not much lost, when destroyed and good enough to get interested.
Record the video in 1080 and 60 frames and play them again. Then see if the Go Pro is a bargain. I have both and the A80 is the easy choice for value. This video is kind of a joke of how to steer one to a promoted product.
Your look at the Apeman A80 is really not the same as mine, because my handsfree filming on 1080p is nearly as good as the GoPro it is pretty good stabilized and for a $80 camera it is very good.
Odd how sometimes cameras look like different quality on RUclips. Idk about the a80, but when I see footage from The apeman a77, (I think that’s what it is called) it looks terrible. But when I use my apeman camera it looks better!
Like your video does a great comparason of the two cameras. i have an apeman a80 personally it’s a good action cam for the price but I’ve had a problem when I go biking the camera turns off when I hit a bump or pot hole any feedback you many have to fix this??
Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately I returned mine (I couldn't justify keeping it) but I hope you find a solution! When held steady it's a fine lil camera!
I would say the battery is loosing connection try putting something soft to cushion the impact in n you camera if anything find a wedge to stick in with the battery
And that still wouldn't be nearly as good. The A80's sensor can't do 4K and the GoPro's image quality blows it out of the water. Having two bad cameras isn't going to help...

I've just uploaded first footage from motorcycle ride on my apeman A77, mega impressed with such a budget piece of kit
It is quite clear that you did not turn on the stabilization on the A80.

Stabilisation is not turned on on the a80 this is about as biased a review as you could possibly make

I'm entirely convinced this is was sponsored by gopro

The apeman a80 is basically the GoPro hero 4 black on steroids
I am going to test my Walmart bicycle against a 500cc motorcycle.
You can buy 2 apenan a80 a 2 gimbals for the same price.
