As we have to be able for some projects provide Cobie level 2 data , all projects use archicads properties in combination with their expressions to extract the abbreviation we use for all our composite and complex profile walls . For Cobie Archicads element ID for all elements need to be unique so we can’t use the ID hence why we use the ArchiCAD properties plus their expressions. This also avoids a user creating a wall with the wrong element Id because they inherited it from the last used ID. As they have to select the correct composite in the first place to draw the wall and there is no input required by the user to label it correctly we have less mistakes.
It would be better if we can label the surface ID instead of changing element ID. The system would generate a new element ID when we create a new element.
