@Armory XDM I used to live on the east side of Tacoma, right near the Hosmer mess. When I moved to that area, about 6 years ago, the run-down complex I moved into was in the process of being renovated. Half of the apartment units were “updated”, and the other half were not yet renovated, and still occupied by the old tenants. My apartment was $1425/month. The old tenants were still paying around $750/month. All of the old tenants were on section 8. They were renovating one unit at a time, and moving old tenants into the renovated units, as units were finished and available. Management was off-site, at another complex right on 84th near Hosmer. SEVERAL run-down complexes were being bought and renovated by the Neiders company, in that area. All section 8 accommodating, as far as I know. The unit rent was based on “current market rental rates”, for that area. There were shootings, drug dealing, theft, human trafficking and other BS going on constantly, on the property. Again, no on-site management. It was a very scary situation to be living there with my 14 year old daughter. The point of my comment was that companies, like the Neiders, were buying up the ghetto properties, doubling the rent in that area, and CONTROLLING the market for that area. All while lining their pockets with section 8 money from the government. Making NO improvements, or even trying, regarding the crime going on there. Easy $, no responsibility. Sickening 🤮 If you ask me why I moved to that area, I would say it was the only place available and affordable, for me, that I could find at that time. I was new to Tacoma and had no idea what I was signing up for. I was stuck there for 4 years. Rent was skyrocketing, and I had no way out. The situation on Hosmer has gotten worse over the years, and I recall that the motel mentioned in this video was purchased by investors, to turn it into Affordable housing. I would bet it’s intended for section 8 housing.

Legalize it, tax it, regulate it, or enforce laws already in place. Oherwise don’t do anything and shut up about it. When liberal judges make it obvious there’s no consequences for crime expect more and more crime.
It is going to take voters not voting on party lines to get this fixed. Honestly, I wouldn’t know what to do about the problem on Aurora Avenue other than close the hotels between N 75th and N130th streets. Like literally ban any hotels/motels on that avenue! They don’t seem to have any purpose for being on that street and other than the average business conventions and occasional travelers, why are they there?
Charge by the hour do they?
I know what to do. Don't be soft and naive enough to let your mans beat me on the draw!
For the 1962 Seattle world fair.
This looks like a great advertisement for legalizing concealed carry.
Something I do every day
3rd Ave is a dump. Time to rip up the sidewalks
Put your freaking criminals in jail for much longer than they are now! Harsher prosecutions! For prostitution legalize it and regulate it - issue special business licenses which need to be renewed annually and have strict health code standards! For any prostitutes on public roadways you arrest them for illicit prostitution!
Prostitution falls under the slavery law which is why it's legal name is human trafficking. You would have to legalize slavery that was also taxed and regulated.
@@BLOCKBOI3RD not true at all 🤣
@@BLOCKBOI3RD it’s legal in Nevada but slavery isn’t lol
@@joekane8026 it is slavery. You have never saw pimping before if you don't think it's slavery.
@Muddy Water facts
Lol people still don't realize how local media is full of fear mongering.
The horror movie music in the background, is too funny XD
Von Hooper is obviously not from Seattle but in a "safe space" in mom's basement. Its easy to be liberal when you have no responsibilities, kids or a job 🤣
@@DM-qp7do
Making fun of safe spaces was funny in 2015... Sorry boomer ;)
Her hands held me gently from the day I took my first breath. Her hands helped to guide me as took my first step. Her hands held me close when the tears would start to fall. Her hands were quick to show me that she would take care of it all.
Reading this got me to drop a couple tears.

God I hate bots 😑
Bot life or freak!
I bet when the owner sold the hotel was dancing (squirrel dance) like Ray Lewis during his game time entrance
I Was thinking the same thing he's actually a customer 🤣🤣🤣😋😋😋
Politicians making the public pay for what Politicians caused
Wow! Sounds like were I live in NYC.
Queens village
No doubt! 😐. Be safe out here in these streets, 30 40 years ago people parents had sense. These is the crack era babies growing up.
Come up and do a story on Bonney Lake, we have full automatic weapons fire here on a pretty regular basis in a residential area and the police refuse to do anything about it! Talk about living in a third world nation!
What about Condemnation? Of the old motel in Tacoma, with the electrical and water safety.
God bless Seattle it’s started get ready for a mad max world
Y’all should watch KOMOs Seattle is Dying and the sequel Saving the Soul of Seattle. I don’t know why the solution covered in this series isn’t being talked about.
I'm a Bicycle Courier and encounter these people all the time , unfortunately most of them have owners and are now fed blue till they are useless.
I was a messenger in DT in 99-2000. One of my favorite jobs ever. What's it been like doing the job since they destroyed Seattle?
Legalize Prostitution.
3rd and Pike? Add in 4th and Pike too!
Thats genius back page on one strip. At 12:38 i think i just fell in love
Progressive city!
haven't seen you in a long time bro you look awesome keep up the great work you do 👍
Imagine some woke city official telling you that you can't evict junkies and criminals from your property. This is insanity.
I worked this Summer in Lakewood remodeling a McDonalds. Our Conex got broken into twice and $2000 worth of my tools got stolen. The streets at night looked like a zombie apocalypse with high weirdos stumbling about. It seems like nowhere is safe, Wenatchee WA where I live is getting bad too.
Crime can't be bad because Inslee is in the process of closing the Washington State Reformatory in Monroe. There's only about 30 or 40 inmates left in it, the rest got released early or moved. Massive early releases from 2020 to now.
Exasperating! That's what you get when you elect democrats. Wake up, people !!!
More targets! LOL 😂😆😆
It's Up to you to protect yourself, your family, and friends.
Inslee sucks, too.
Why are 8 out of the 10 highest crime rates in the southeastern united states and primarily vote republican?
@@robertthayer5779 Thats right, I always tell people that YOU are your own first responder.
Phone gps loves to send you through these streets! 😂
I'd bet not so much diversity with the repeat violent offenders
The community here in the Midwest would beat the living hell out of the thieves- the cops wouldn’t have anything to do!
Community members do not engage in criminal behavior.
City should buy it, tear it down. Make a city park and enforce laws....not that difficult 🤯
Did you say prostitution ? I need to move to Seattle . Ted Bundy would have a hay day now lol.
Wow man that guy just don’t care cause I know you’re going to prison for long I guarantee if you slept 20 years on him at 85% he’ll change his mind about everything
The government needs to make sure that all 50 States have the power to mandate that every single person living on a fixed income are being given a FLEX CARD, regardless of which ZIP CODE THEY LIVE IN.
Not impressed with the owners of the Hosmer St. motel, Sage Investments or their spokesperson or promises. Getting action from Tacoma city code enforcement, Mayor Woodward or Tacoma police is a challenge no doubt. I would look at if any government social services are giving out motel room vouchers.
The ONLY thing Sage investment can do is get a lawyer to put Tacoma govnmnt on notice for NOT ENFORCING THEIR OWN LAWS.
As for code compliance, Tacoma code enforcement will force the owners to move tenants out& pay for replacement lodgings up until their leases expire. $$$$ ka Ching.
They should NEVER have bought the place until it was COMPLETELY VACANT. Really stupid.
You go fix it then!!!
I personally think every major city should have a 6 block sin city. A place where gambling, prostitution and drugs can be bought and enjoyed. I'd rather have all the "bad activity" in a 6 block area, than citywide chaos. Chaos over activities that won't ever stop anyway.
That's dumb
@@henrykrinkle268 Lol. Why? Because of the imaginary Jesus who never comes down to solve a problem? This is a far more practical option than the senseless, expensive and ineffective war on drugs. More people are on drugs today than in 1971. They can't even keep the drugs out of the jails. 😂 Prostitution laws are oppressive, removes personal freedoms and autonomy of our bodies. For what? Doing a biological function that everyone does? Government is alright with a woman working double shifts, 7 days a week for $2.80 an hour at Denny's. It's also ok for her to go home and have sex with her new boyfriend she just met last week from plenty of fish for free. It's ALSO ok for that new guy to give her his entire paycheck to help her out with rent and utilities. But she can't have sex for money or a man can't pay for sex?
Stop with the bullshit and stop trying to control other people's lives with your silly unfounded morality. I personally don't like to gamble. I find it unproductive and costly. But that's none of my business. The government sells lotto tickets all day in every state in America. It literally is a racket to remove money from people's pockets. I was told a few years ago, that there are over 400 casinos throughout America. But a house with 10 guys playing poker should be raided and arrested? GTFOH with that shit. They should be out stopping or solving REAL crimes. The government and people who support this draconian conduct are thugs and busy body hypocrites. And the poor success rates of your endeavors proves my point even more.
Tacoma Home Depot has hired armed security. THANKS Home Depot.
Jesus, it’s like a warzone out there…
Tyler, Texas four corners, stayed there during a construction work in the city
If they are really interested in cleaning this area up please contact me I would be more than happy to bring crew up there fix clean and take whatever it means to be safe there don't get a hold of me if you're not serious
Much of the strength and efficiency of any Government in procuring and securing happiness to the people depends on opinion, on the general opinion of the goodness of that government as well as of the wisdom and integrity of its governors.
The greatest of the north west Oregon and Washington not the place I remember 38years ago democratic governors refused to fix this problem, , its disturbing
How tf did dude get let out if he beat someone to death then goes on to take handbags from a store years later I'm confused 🤔
If Jerry Williams was in charge we would be fine
Well, lucky for you, at this time, you'll just get off for nothing at all! But your heart will be the judge of all, and will be what you serve as far as Justice, Be ready for What is to Come
In the US, criminals have more rights than good citizens !! SMFH
Too many dealers on one corner happens all the time
Nicest i heard somebody talk about prostitution 😆
Why I do not think I will ever be in Tacoma/Seattle again ….
Hosmer has been bad for a long time. I lived off of hosmer near 92nd and alaska. We sold our house in 2004 to get out. There had been a running gun battled down our street and many other crimes. We had lived there for 10 years it was a great place until about 2002.
Legalize it, tax it, regulate it, or enforce laws already in place. Oherwise don’t do anything and shut up about it. When liberal judges make it obvious there’s no consequences for crime expect more and more crime.
Let's go hosmer,it's a slow day unless someone is running around with a machete.
😅
Most all crime in WA occurs in Olympia the other in Seattle City hall. Elect the same criminals supported by the same corporations
Seattle lookin like LA
It' s looking like every large democrat run city. Wake up, voters !
My one suggestion would be for the last decent person out of Seattle to light the fuse!
It is going to take voters not voting on party lines to get this fixed. November 8th is right around the corner and if people keep the same corrupt politicians we already have its going to be at least another six years before it starts to improve. We could easily fall back to the same depravity we were at in the 80s.
WASHINGTON STATE NEEDS TO VOTE DIFFERENT
30 YEARS OF THE SAME POLITICIANS
WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!!!
Come on man.
if someone breaks a law you can terminate their lease with 3 day notice.
Got a ring camera a few weeks ago. Comes with a neighborhood reporting app. There are reports of stolen cars and gunfire many many times a week all over the Tacoma mall area (about 2 miles away from Hosmer) it isn't just that block.
This sounds like San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose CA..... Same shit different place... When does it End?
Vote that mayor out of Tacoma !!!
