Yo like, it is kinda confirmed in the dialogue with kel that hero is a man that holds back a part of himself for the sake of his loved ones. I don’t know how he’d react to the truth but I think he’s got enough self control where sunny would be alright.
idk, for me truth sequence tells me sunny doesn't really care anymore if he gets forgiven or not. it's more important to lose the weight off the shoulders, no matter the outcome, so i don't think this might happen. very depressing tho, good job!
Considering that Sunny was about to move away and never see the group again... it makes sense, he maybe don't cares if he is gonna be forgived... afterall he is gonna go away and probably NEVER see them again. That is depressing, considering he lived his entire life in that town and Mari grave is still in that Town, every person he met is just gonna dissapear from his life... and he is not gonna be able of visit Mari grave anymore...
@@SoyFurr0 that's exactly what makes the good ending so sad to me. Even if it's the best option, Sunny lost 4 years of his life, and just as he's coming back he's leaving, and his friends are either going to hate him or love and miss him
@@Mothlord03Yeah but they all promise to stay together towards the end of the game and keep in contact. Yes they will miss him but it's not as sad as you're making it out to be
As for whether or not he cares if he's forgiven, idk how the takeaway from that part of the game is that he doesn't care. The point is that he trusts they will forgive him (and they do, omocat has literally stated that like THE theme of the game is the unwavering strength of friendship, the fact this went over the heads of so many people is so insane to me) and that's why omori puts so much focus onto Sunny's doubt and he calms down and finds strength in the friend groups promises to him. The whole build up to the omori fight is sunny being told he will have to make a choice between giving up and continuing to be friends with the group, which is literally telling us that the outcomes of the omori fight is either he dies or he continues living with his friends despite what happened
@@jarnoldmy outlook is that, if you’ve done something shitty, the main point of a confession shouldn’t be to garner sympathy otherwise you’re doing the right thing for the wrong reasons. It should be an intrinsic act of honesty, integrity and self forgiveness regardless of outcome. The good ending of omori is purposely vague as it is allowed to be left up to interpretation. If you personally feel that his friends would forgive him, then there’s nothing wrong with that. The word forgiveness itself doesn’t mean letting someone off the hook. You could forgive someone who hurt you but still walk away afterwards, and that’s what I feel the most realistic outcome would be in that scenario.
I don't know. I don't understand how to feel about Sunny. Like, he's either: really guilty and overall a bad person (but then people must despise, not pity him), or he's not to blame and it was actually all and accident (therefore it doesn't count, and he shouldn't feel guilt in the first place)
@@jekylljekyllhyde821 Yeah they don't exactly make that clear, and I think they do for a reason. I think it's more about Sunny's mind, I feel that even in Sunny's mind even if it was an accident his mind treats it like he did it deliberately. We are supposed to be asking these kinds of questions because this is a potrayal of what PTSD is like. Sunny has probably relived this event thousands of times and doesn't even know what to think of himself. What happened was not premeditated, it was a matter of impulse, either deliberate or not. I don't think he would kill his sister because of an argument. I don't think he either is or isn't a bad person I believe there is a lot of gray area. What would make him a bad person is if he had no remorse for what he did and would do it again if he had the option.
@@AwesomeAustin314are you serious? She blocked him and he pushed her out of the way and she fell because she had a bad knee. Its not hard to piece together what happened and there's no way you actually believe the game leaves it open ended whether he wanted her to die?? And the game makes it clear it not even a gray area, it's literally repeated that sunny isn't bad despite what he did and that omori is WRONG.
In my opinion, canonically there is a secret ending to the game, in which Sunny tells the truth about Mari (Good ending), but because of his friends' reaction, he throws himself off the building (Bad Ending)
she’s gonna announce it this year and it’s going to be released in 7 years even if she said it was going to in 2 lol (reference to the original omori release dates if anyone doesn’t know)
For me my headcannons is sunny wasn’t forgiven in the good ending so he decided to go Oyasumi. Personally tho that’s what I’d do in that situation so maybe that’s just my bias speaking
Thank you everyone! I wasn’t expecting this to get so many views
the illusion of control
bad ending - jump off the hospital
good ending - confess and get thrown off the hospital by Hero
Prob was gonna happen

Imagine making a mistake like that, finally letting it out after years of hiding, and you aren't forgiven. That would suck, I don't envy him.
