Deduct 15mph from the speed to get a comparable speed to face a hard ball on a turf wicket. i.e. 85MPH on the machine = 100MPH with a red ball on a real wicket. Also machine is actually easier to face in respect of having the same length each ball, no seam movement, predictable swing and if the ball condition is good or new then very consistent bounce. Ive actually face maybe 20,000 machine balls.
