You are saying EXACTLY what I was think about this situation. The only other thing I would say is tds is releasing similar updates to attract new player and old player because tds can use their population to get to new players before tdx.

tdx being a tb sequel is fitting as a huge community drama and the devs aggressively copying each other every chance they get are back just like the tds vs tb days
While I don’t think having the same ideas at the same time is bad, I do think it would be more interesting if tds tried to bring a new mechanic into the mainstream roblox td genre instead of responding to tdx competition by following the same roadmap. I think adding a new gimmick like maybe a sort of rhythm game type concept or teleporting enemies would be fun.

Ive been playing tds for 5 years at this point and, from what ive seen with their track record(most obviously them copying the entirety of tb) this copying isnt new for them. This in combination with tds adding tons of p2w has caused people to have enough and start pointing out the obvious stealing and "inspiration" they've taken from tdx.
And me personally, I respect these people for pointing out the obvious faults of below and the tds team as a whole.
I hope that TDS will change and start being more original, but i doubt they will.

This sort of childish game of slandering each other back and forth is incredibly annoying. It doesn't help when John is actively encouraging this stuff (indirectly) as well. While I believe both parties are "copying" each other - it doesn't matter. It's childish to care so much about it.

The reason why they say tds copied tdx cuz of some towers seem copied, tdx mine layer vs tds trapper, and tdx cryo blaster vs tds cryomancer, then the intermediate mode, the name seems copy since intermediate mode was original supposed to be called casual, and last tdx power ups vs tds consumables, I find it really dumb that tds released the updates after tdx does it first and not do it years ago when it was first announce, it shouldn't take years to make consumables or new mode, they just release updates right after tdx did first which is just stealing tdx thunder, and to those who bring up btd6 saying they copied btd6, your stupid and need to shut up, bringing up a real game that cost money to a roblox game that is free is such a stupid argument since it's not worth comparing since the real game is obviously better and it cost money so not eveyone can play it like a roblox game
As a fan of TDX, I find this conflict to be dumb. The concepts and ideas in TDS and TDX are not particularly unique to their respective genres; rather, they are common ideas that can be found in many other tower defense games. Furthermore, the fact that John_Roblox is a developer for both games further proves how dumb this feels.
To me they're all original. I like TDX more than TDS, I still play TDS from time-to-time and also while they do similar things it still takes time to plan them so it's just kind of a consistence.
It is basic competition but the way tds is doing it is not that good.
Id say instead of dropping something similar to tdx to compete, drop something else that has been in the works.

Maybe once a number of content creators who have all the cult like fan bases of both communities say something about this, the said cult like fans will pull the plug. Even I’m tired of arguing over the problem with military TD games and how it’s easy to trip over the lines of other military TD games because there are only so many things one can do to create something original and (somewhat) realistic in a style like this.
I never thought about Below releasing updates at similar times as TDX to try to reel players back in, but that’s just a basic marketing strategy dawg. That’s actually a smart move, but so many people just brush it off as stealing, while it takes more than 3 days to fully develop a military base rework and release it just a little after TDX adds their tanks.
Also, about the whole, “both games copied Bloons,” argument, there is a fine line between stealing and taking inspiration. I think most of us should know this by now, but apparently not. Yeah, there are things that both roblox games have that are “created by btd,” but this isn’t stealing. Bloons has a lot of content, but there isn’t anything directly STOLEN from the game.

If they actually wanna steal the players back then they need to add more "original" stuff, not original as in "no one has done it before" but original as in, "no one has done it on roblox yet and maybe I can change it up a little so it is its own thing".
