John Lennon's vocals are so melodious though... no matter how we view it. Compared to now, the songs and lyrics were so meaningful and appealing ("sweet") to the ears. Beautiful song! Talking about the lyrics 🤣 where was he when the babe left 🤣 what has the throw pillows done to you? Throw pillows are twinning with your shirt 😂
Wow awesome song John Lennon has been a great song writer and Amazing video beautiful song 👌 thanks for sharing sending my full support from Munich Germany Doings
I've always loved this song. The harmonies are top notch. Two other Beatles songs with beautiful harmonies are "Yes It Is" and perhaps the greatest of all... "Because".
This Boy was originally released on November 29, 1963 as the B side on the I Want To Hold Your Hand single. John Lennon loved the 1950's Doo-wop artists as well as Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. This was his attempt at emulating his heroes in style and vibe. This Boy with its maj7's and 6's notes woven into a pretty complex 3 part harmony show the bands rapid growth as songwriters and harmony arrangers. Best wishes with your new channel Cim, RNB
The three-part harmonies remind me of soft harmony quality of The Fleetwoods. And the lead guitar at the end might have been influenced by the sliding steel guitar of Santo and Johnny.
The Beatles were, and always will be, the best band ever! So much variety in their music through the years they were together. The had their own sound and quality, which many bands tried to copy but could not match them. Always something new and different to listen to. Great harmonies, song-crafting, and inventiveness. They still have millions of fans today across the entire world. Thanks for posting this song Cimdy.
This song was never released on a 45rpm vinyl in the US. I looked for it for years so I could have it to play in my juke box. Finally I found it in the UK and I bought it ($26 about 10 years ago) and it is in my juke box. One of my prized records along with some of my original 1960’s songs, a few of them by the Beatles. Thanks…Jim
I'm from Liverpool and went to the same school as John Lennon. I'm so happy that you love John as much as we do, and his Liverpool accent - which is known as a 'scouse' accent and is very particular to Liverpool. Lots of love from Liverpool x
Great review girl… and your just added so my fun to it with the comparison with your throw pillows and your shirt 👚… you are matching up very well lol…
It is indeed a beautiful Beatles song 🎶 ….and oh my you got so exultation into todays reaction and I enjoyed myself plus giggling along🤣🤣🤣on top of all…. the colour matching in the back🤣🤣🤗👏👍
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. The Beatles influenced everyone but they were also influenced by many…this Is an example of them being influenced by Doo Wop and what makes it extra special and different from everyone else at the time is they wrote and performed their own music.
This song has it all. The harmonies, the instruments, the plaintive theme and John’s beautiful, passionate solo in the middle. His voice is exquisite in this. 🌺✌️
Also John's rhythm guitar in what we call triplets [3 over one beat] is so clean and even it's just genius playing. it is the song's musical character.
Tha magic of John's voice was a such that he could get a song right with very few takes. Beautiful harmonies and love your outfit as well. Color really suits you.
Awesome Beatles reaction Cimdy! I get so happy when you post a new one. It always makes my day. And you could make any throw pillow fabric look amazing! Peace
This was my older sister’s favourite Beatles song when it first came out. Mine was She Loves You. I didn’t really get her choice then. I do now. You’re doing a great of exposing The Beatles to a whole new group of fans and your analysis and opinions are very well thought out and perceptive. Really enjoy watching your expressions.
John Lennon found inspiration in the music of Smokey Robinson -- "I've Been Good to You", "You've Really Got a Hold on Me", and "Shop Around" are some of his early hits.
Laughing out loud cim. Cim the fighter go and rescue the beatles. Beatles am a good girl and also a baddie which one are you looking for. Love the song
I forgot about the amazing bridge in this one! And I think John just kills the vocals on this, especially in that bridge. And the harmonies are impeccable.
Hard to believe this was a B side on a single. How many young artists today would kill for a song like this as an A side. John wrote this one and was actually released in late 63 as the B side to I Want To Hold Your Hand in the UK. Great three part harmonies and John just kills the solo on the bridge or chorus if you like. See, I told you a month or so ago you needed to check this one out. Also remember John's "Yes It Is" from Past Masters also, it's one of those not often heard little gems of his. ✌️☮️💕
I’ve been watching your Beatles reactions and I must say that they’re all pretty good reactions that you’ve done. But I’ve noticed that there’s one particular Beatle song that you haven’t done yet and I was hoping you’d react to it. The song is octopus’s Garden song by Ringo Starr from the Abbey Road album. Just thought I’d bring that up
This Nov 63 single-release was another in a series of 2-sided hits. Radio stations would play one side to the point of destruction (boredom!) and then flip it over and bring out a song like this. Fans were treated to so many wonderful songs.
Cimdy! Great reaction! I'm excited for you to do "Not A Second Time" soon! It is also from this time period, from the "With The Beatles" album. It's one of my favorites from the album and I believe it's a very strong song, though underrated. Check it out!
Kind of rare to have John singing the sad love song....usually it's your crush... baby face Paul....OMG...I will die laughing 🤣🤣🤣.....I am sorry.....but from now on.... I will now have to call you Nanya Throwpillow🤣🤣🤣......sounds like your Native American Indian name.....to be honest....I really really like both the pillows and the shirt.....and even that you match....now I wish I had never mentioned it way back when......I think it's kinda cool really....kinda artsy. Beautiful precious girl....you can do no harm. 💖💖🤗🤗💋

Wow beautiful Reaction 😍👌
My mother's favourite Beatles song.
There's a clip of them performing this song on their 2nd Ed Sullivan appearance. Much less screaming...the girls looked hypnotized.
Another beautiful song of the Beatles and nice reaction too.The lyrics are so great

Very well said Cimdy. Back then singing was raw talent not this days with so unto tune and stuff. Short song but so beautiful 😍
Tha magic of John's voice was a such that he could get a song right with very few takes. Beautiful harmonies and love your outfit as well. Color really suits you.
Beautiful song! Beautiful reaction! (I feel the same way about the Beatles as you do!)
Awesome Beatles reaction Cimdy! I get so happy when you post a new one. It always makes my day. And you could make any throw pillow fabric look amazing!

You are sooooo wonderful!
I think this was also called Ringo’s Theme. I really believe you should do a movie review of A Hard Day’s Night. I know we would all love that !
Yes, react to the movie A Hard Day's Night please!
Or just watch the movie and tell us about your experience (thus avoiding all copyright whines).

Brilliant song, great harmonies, and what a simply stunning middle eight - the very essence of John Lennon right there.
Baby Beatles... so innocent...

One of the hi-lites of the 2nd album.
