I have the 19* UW from last year and it's my favorite club, basically for all the reasons you shared. Considering getting the 17* version of this years model.

I game the 17° and 21° version of this club from last year, with HZRDUS Black shaft in both. Absolutely love them and no longer have any fairway woods in the bag. I’m a 13 handicap and agree that this club is very friendly to hit.

I'm curious how far you carry the 17 and the 21 and then what is your strongest iron and how far you carry that?
I'm also a 13hcp and I carry a 17 degree hybrid then it's my 4 iron but I struggle striking it when not on a tee so considering dropping the 4 iron for a 21 degree hybrid.

Thanks Andy. Once again a great review! I considered the Callaway Apex UW last year, before purchasing both the paradigm 5 hybrid, and 5 Wood. LAUGH OUT LOUD ! I wood love 2 get your impressions of this new Apex UW and compare it to the Callaway new super hybrid line of clubs when it’s available. Thanks

Similar to the Cleveland Hy Wood which is my go to club off tee and fairway from 200 -210 yards.

Interesting…especially when you know that Callaway has also introduced a new Super Hybrid making the choice even more difficult

Andy, you should put it heads up against last years Callaway Epic Super Hybrid.

Would be hard pressed to replace my PXG 0211 7 wood with this. I absolutely love that club. It's my 200 yard beauty. Great review as always Andy!

Just might be my next upgrade. I'm currently carrying driver-4w-7w, then irons from 5 and up.

I have a pxg 0211 3 hybrid. Would it even be worth looking into this if I already have that? Been looking into a 3 or 5 fairway wood to add

  • @jbiz447

You could keep the three hybrid for windier days. I seem to type my five wood off the tee lights off. I’m gonna try my three Eibert off the tea too but I’m pretty consistent with it but hopefully will be a little more consistent in my favor of the day I’m gonna shorten my five 1/2 an inch see if that helps me find the face better. I do in a pretty well on the fairways on par fives and I did have an eagle with my 5 wood, So it’s going to stay in my bag along with three and five hybrids I’m going to take my six iron out of my bag replace with a five big Bertha hybrid and a 😅Callaway paradigm X in the 3hybrid, has a bigger head…

I’ve not got a fairway in my bag, 19 degree 3 hybrid to driver gap, so a 17 or 19 degree version of this might be for me..

I have to say , Callaway definitely a company that has and uses technology very well, but I've gamed many different models and names of differnt Callaway lines that have come every year, but if a beat up club face bothers you , then do your due diligence on callaways wear and tear on some of thier faces they offer,, I can really speak about the drivers , fairway woods, and hybrids, the faces on this different categories get beat up some quickly, you'd almost think it's a design flaw , but it happens to all the faces , scratches, nicks, dull buff marks all of them I've experienced, that said it never interfered with performance but like I said , if your a stickler for clean club, especially the faces ,do your homework first, one more comment , Callaway come out with a new name for there clubs every year , I'd love to see an Apex driver and fairway, hybrid line names Apex, love that name, I believe they payed alot of money to buy the rights to the name and tech from Ben Hogan company ,way back when, great purchase, ! thanks for review, I have the older version AW 19° idk I perfer my 5 wood! but its an individuals choice!!
