We are glad you chose and live in Guatemala. You are always welcome here. As you may have noticed Guatemala is not dangerous, I heard there are groups of people from out of the country organizations that want to place Guatemala in a bad due its recent popularity and keep trying; but, anyway we welcome you and anyone who wants to experience Mayan life in Guatemala. Welcome and God bless.

You think you will eventually be back in Guatemala ?
We move to Xela in January ( from Nicaragua ). We are very excited !
Why are we moving there ?
Cool weather- this is a must for us.
    Fairly safe
    Decent hospitals
    Low cost of living
We here the people are friendly
Seems to check all our boxes.

Is so beautiful and rich the United Kingdom of Guatemala established since 1609 and that extends from El Soconusco (today Chiapas) to part of Panama. Guatemala is 12th producer of silver in the world and 20th producer of gold besides having massive reserves of nickel, jade and so many other natural resources too bad for almost a century big foreign multinational corporations have been taking almost everything. The Malvinas belong to Argentina, The Esequibo belongs to Venezuela and Belice belongs to Guatemala. God bless

One funny thing you need ID for is buying fried chicken online, ja ja. Specifically at Pollo Campero I mean, which is a probably better [?] restaurant like KFC. You can still buy whatever through Pedidos Ya, which is like Uber Eats just by downloading the app. Also when buying 'fancy stuff' like electronics, eg I bought a PSU for my computer in Intelaf and they asked for my ID which I feel is very weird, like, what for? In case I do what?

Guatemala overall sucks . I gave this country 2 years , the people do like to socialize with gringos , the women are distant and cold , if you are a single guy forget about sex or any type of romance here , the nightlife sucks , things are over priced , and it can be a dangerous place to live . Today a saw a woman walking down the street naked from head to toe , I actually mean nothing , and her hairy busy and sagging breasts and barefoot , this was in the middle of the day . People just told me the woman is crazy and she does that sometimes . Nobody pays attention to it . Also people being shot at while they are driving in the middle of the day . People need to know the real Guatemala , and make there decision on personal experiences not youtube videos . Best to all that decide to travel here and as always be safe wherever you go .
