Hi all, hope you enjoy the video. I enjoyed making it! 😂 This product offers a great mixture of realism & gameplay elements to produce a very immersive experience. Point of correction - the Cessna elevator trim is on a tab and the elevator would not drop at 0kts on the ground on a real aircraft. Developer will update the config to disable this in a forthcoming update.
I have had my Brunner now for around 6 months, after flighing ffb there really is no going back. Tweaking the profiles for the different aircraft is needed with the Brunner, there are pre made profiles on the Brunner cloud that other users have saved that act as a good starting point. The landing challenges are fun. The price is so good, I paid a lot more for my baby Brunner. Always vat at 20%, certainly for the eu from Switzerland.with reference to mounting on your motion rig. I have a p3. I bought some steel plate from Germany it comes in various sizes and they can cut it to specific sizes I bolted that to the rig and attached the brunner to that.if you would like a picture mark let me know.
You certainly enjoyed yourself 😄 Personally I think I still favor using the butt kicker, because I can use it for all types of aircrafts (airliners included) . I prefer to have the vibrations and other effects in the chair. That said it's because my GA yoke is an all metal, heavy duty one, which is very realistic. Most yokes are light and flimsy and that indeed kills the immersion. For people who fly exclusively GA aircraft this might be great value for money indeed.
Mark, I just wish to say your channel is by far the best one out there. Your offerings are so professional and informative to us simmers. I hope to bump into you at FlightSimExpo...and test out this Yoke. All the best! Greg
With FFB you want the emergency stop button separate like Flitesim did here. If your system glitches, trust me you want that button in a place you can quickly and safely reach to kill the power.
I’m glad to finally see force feedback in flight simulation becoming mainstream. This is the only way to fly if you want the feel of flying a real plane.
I fully 100% agree with possible immersion what we GA plane lovers can't get enough of. It's pricey and needs to be plug and play for MSFS2020 / 2024 without any thinkering at that price point. What will happen I hope but it's looking very promising.
Pretty sure a C172 has an external trim tab for pitch trim, so you don’t get that movement on the yoke when you trim on the ground. The Pa38 is the only aircraft I’ve flown irl which does that. Other than that, this looks excellent (assuming that you can set up profiles for it to work just as well with larger aircraft as with small GA).
interesting to know that PA38's trim works like that, I only knew older fighters like F4 F14 F15 etc do it in that way haha. BTW the boss of the company replied on their d-iscord: "confirmed that this option will be added in the next software update: To add: “Disable hardware trim on ground” effect and leave this box unchecked by default."
Fingers crossed that you love this and save me a bunch of money over a Brunner! Wow - the box itself seems huge at 434mm (L) x 377mm (W) x 164mm (H) [17" x 15" x 6" roughly for us colonials] [UPDATE] - purchased in the early bird special. I credit (blame) you Mark.
It's nice having a FFB sim rig for racing and it's about time to bring that same feeling to flight sim with out braking the bank. I hope they make more great products to the flight sim world.
The most important thing for me ist the resistance of the yoke: If your plane is standing on the ground, there is nearly no resistance. If you are flying slow (landing), the resistance is very soft. The resitance must be from soft to strong as you are flying slow to fast. You can feel the speed of the plane through the resistance of the yoke. Sorry for my english (i am german :)
It's totally ok to laugh and show emotions. It shows that you're passionate for this hobby! Isn't that why we're in this hobby, after all? I can only wish to be as joyful and youthful when I reach your age! I'm glad we're finally seeing more options for FFB, it's something that's been sorely missing in the flight sim space.
Very nice! I was hoping under your heavy braking in that short field landing, you would have pulled that control wheel ALL the way aft to keep the weight OFF the nose wheel and also add a bit more drag to aid in stopping. Thank you for the presentation.
Anything that adds more realistic feedback to the controls in MSFS 2020 has to be a good thing in my opinion. The scenery in MSFS 2020 has vastly improved over earlier iterations of the sim, as has the flight modelling and the quality and range of different aircraft we simmers have to choose from. ATC has improved as well. Adding fairly realistic force feedback to the yoke and rudders looks to be a game changer.
Great showcase of this yoke. It looks fantastic and I love that it could elicit genuine joy. One point to make about your stall recovery: no ailerons! This could induce a snap roll in a real aircraft, so keep wings level and use rudder only for a dropping wing until your airspeed recovers. 👍
ahahaaah i love how much you enjoy it! thats exactly that feeling that i love in this hobby... new hardware, like back as a child at the christmas evening!
I really really want to get a yoke, having spent a fortune on Fanatec for sim racing whenever I fly, using a VKB stick I long for more immersion. However because my rig is dual purpose with throttle velcro'd to a shifter plate on the side and a swinging keyboard tray to put my stick on in front of the wheel, I don't have a good option to mount one yet. I need to come up with a system to attach to the profile rig that allows it to swing out of the way for racing, but swing back in and lock in place when I want to fly
This yoke looks really nice and if it comes in at 799 usd, that's a fantastic price compared to the price of a Brunner. 😊 The functions and effects are very similar to the Brunner. I have a Brunner, Mark is absolutely right the ffb yokes are fantastic. Can only be a good thing having the prices coming down allowing more folk the chance to experience ffb.
Looks like a fine piece of gear, if perhaps a bit heavy duty for the average simmer. I fly the 172 at my local club and the loading on the yoke in normal operations is light enough so you would be unlikely to find yourself wrestling with the yoke with two hands ..... assuming the wings were still attached ! One small point, the trim has zero effect on the yoke/drooping elevator when the aircraft is stationary so maybe that's something that can be addressed in the settings.
Mark -- great video (as are all of your videos); thank you. I've got the RedBird and Yoko yoke and am hoping to get this and replace those. Your video helped convince me.
Microsoft did make the Force Feedback joystick. It gave me a very painful carpel tunnel syndrome injury, which impacted on my career as an infantryman. Even picking up a pen hurt. I was out of action for about 3 months and never touched the stick again, except to drop it (sadly) in the bin. Having said that, it was amazing.
Great video, and glad you're enjoying it! Just curious... I'm not sure how the trim works on this modern Cessna, but moving the trim tabs at idle and rest on the ground on the M/N models I used to fly should have no movement effect on the yoke. Thanks for the video!
Hmmm. The force-feedback is impressive. This unit with this handle is probably great for flying small airplanes like Cessnas, Pipers, etc. I'd probably wait for a yoke handle at least like a CH yoke...a handle that is more suited for a TBM, Citation, M500. Interchangable handles would be a bonus.
Looks like a fine yoke and undoubtedly adds to the realism. It seems they purposed this yoke chiefly for the prop planes; they don't even mention jets in the description. I am wondering if CLS60 can perform well with, say, a 737.
That would be interesting to know Mark. I flew 172’s in RL and fly mostly 737’s in the MSFS so I do some relating to how you are so impressed with this flying the 172.
I am new to simming. Former pilot and I wanted to recreate realistic feedback on the yoke. I think this yoke will be great, but viewers should be aware that it takes an extremely long time to get one of these. I ordered mine on Aug. 22, 2024 and was just told to expect it in late December. If you're in a rush to get one of these, you will be disappointed.
Nice one Mark!Yeah did some actual flying like you some years ago & in last 1 & 3/4 years accumulated more than 1250 hours in MSFS 2020.I seriously want a FB yoke now lol.Near wear I live in Fielding New Zealand there was a open day at the aerodrome & I sat in a actual real life C172 with G1000 think I might even give it a actual go again.
As much as this interests me, after being burned by a previous yoke company I'm quite hesitant to do anything with a company that only recently went into business. It does look fantastic though.
Mark great video! Might look into this down the road. Been wanting a force feedback controller to use with MSFS for awhile now. Thank you for making me aware of this. BTW love the joy, excitement and humor in the video. Never lose that! Keep up the great work! Also I see you had a stand for your keyboard to get it off your desk? If I have that correct what setup are you using to accomplish that? I have a keyboard on my desk as I fly but would love to get it off the desk to make room for other stuff. Recommendations? Thankyou. Stay well!
Very strange to have the yoke move when you trim. Trim tabs don't move the yoke, they work on the control surfaces. In some aircraft (FBW) the entire horizontal stabilizer moves with the elevator trim, for sure not on a C 172.
Looks terrific, Mark !! I dabble with MSFS 2020 and had a proper flying lesson in a Cessna 152 at Leicester airport last year and immediately noticed how different flying in real life is. With motion platforms and force feedback controls the realism is getting closer, what a time to be alive !! By the way, did you say "gear up" shortly after take-off ?? 😆...probably habit !! Cheers for a great and interesting video, Daz, Leicester.
@SimHangerFS Thanks for the review. I have recently received my CLS120. I haven't had much time yet to experiment with the settings in the software. However three initial disappointments: 1. The gearing feel in roll I find very unrealistic. 2. The plastics horns of the yoke make a lot of squeaking noises even with relatively low pitch forces...providing a rather "cheap plastic" feeling. 3. When performing a glide in (idle throttle) approach and landing the propwash effect keeps flicking the yoke all the way down. This is very unrealistic. If you consider purchase; mind the potential shipping costs and import tax. To the Netherlands these were substantial.
I'm considering to order a CLS-60 from the Netherlands. Can you give an indication on what the additional cost for shipping, import taxes and/or VAT will be?
@SimHangerFS, is it mounted to the Next Level Racing Stand Pro (not the Seat Pro/Boeing seat)? I'm looking at this (and the FC-50) and trying to determine a dedicated rig to mount it to. Thanks
I have been searching internet about this ff yoke. As far as I can discover in may there is only starting a finance gathering action to be able to produce this product. Not for long for sale in the normal ways, as far as I understand.
I will be interested in how you mount it to your H3 and what effect the extra weight has on its operation - great to see you like a kid in a candy store- excellent reactions and I'm sure the sales for these will be like toilet paper during covid- lol
Teaming the Somnium VR1 (or Varjo XR4), the DOF Reality H3, and the recently announced Flitesim FC-50 console should check all the boxes for a state-of-the-art simulator. The DOF Reality steering wheel platform and foundation, however, appears to be inadequate for the task of supporting the 40 pound, 27-inch-wide console. Can the DOF Reality H3 platform be modified to support the heavy Flitesim FC-50 console?
Did you have any weight problems with your h3 after adding it. My h6 is running into issues and after talking to some on the fb forum seems the lift supports are needed to counter the added weight. Frequently it 'slips' the cog on a motor or two starts spinning or twitching. I even used a 16x16 lightweight quarter inch acrylic too
Hello, thanks for the video. Only a Cessna172.csv configuration is included with the purchase. Do you have any idea how/where to create/find a config file for a B737? When I using the Cessna172.csv, the Yoke makes unexpected hard jerky turns... I just use it for the B737 without a csv file...
Brunner yoke is a stunning yoke, very high quality and not chunky like this one... it's refined. The Brunner software is way more superior regarding customisation... the functionality on this is better than some but not Brunner. Based on this video I still believe the Brunner series is more superior... but is it $500 more worth it! FFB gives you so much... only way to go if you can afford it. Only thing I would be worried about... "kickstarter"
As others already mentioned, nah the travel of the NG is so tiny that ruins its software. And the product itself has potential as the manufacturer behind it also makes professional level products, just like Brunner.
How is the CLS60 forces flying a Boeing airplane, do you feel it it had enough forces to feel realistic and is there any mechanical backlash feeling coming from the motors while flying ? Thank you Mark.
Hi I’m from Peru I will like to know what is your throttle system now that you are using my name is Sergio Crisostomo I do have the saitek and it is very old thank you
is the hardware trim on the left meant to replace the wheel on the honeycomb quadrant? IE: its needed to be there and not set buttons in the sim to the trim buttons on the yoke? Seems if you set a button with them in the sim, it still trims
For 777, it depends on how good the data PMDG would expose to the telemetry otherwise the software has to do it on itself..but since the real T7 has an artificial feel system that alters the control loading depending on various parameters, it's kinda like a flight sim FFB device. For the buses..if you really want to fly the sidestick buses with a yoke, you can simply set it as spring centered I believe. For the yoked buses of 300/310, I'm not sure if they have "FFB" system or just spring-centered..
my cls60 doesnt line up with the sim, slightest turn left and its at full 90 in the sim, i believe the curves need set , but in the flitesim software or sim unsure (first day
Hmmmm, I’ve been 90% close to pulling the trigger on a Brunner MKII for the last few months. This has make me pause and think. What’s the dimensions of it? I know the burner MKII is pretty long on the desk!
Could this integrate in the DOF reality setup somehow, seems like it may be too long/heavy (dof reality 6dof here), also seems to have less buttons than the Honeycomb, but that could have a workaround with other devices.
@@SimHangerFS did you end up finding a solution, i heard 400mmx4mm thick aluminum plate, however, i cant seem to find this exact plate (amazon or google in general)
Its okay to laugh and show emotion, my friend. Dont apologize for it! It actually makes the videos more relatable and enjoyable
Hi all, hope you enjoy the video. I enjoyed making it! 😂 This product offers a great mixture of realism & gameplay elements to produce a very immersive experience.
Is this force feedback doing any noise inside the case? Very earlier version did have a loud motor in it which was not a pleasure to use it! Thanks.
Thanks for Video
Have you maybe use it with 737 PMDG ? I wonder how that will work
In GA aircraft, the trim shouldn't affect the yoke at 0 airspeed and idle throttle. The trim tabs require airflow to move the control surfaces, no?
The software now has an option to disable trim on the ground.
I’d be interested to hear how strongly it’s able to resist you pulling back in a steep turn?
Mr SimHanger did you try this with 737? is it moving like a real yoke during flight?
60n force for pitch is a lot but what is the response like? In other words, how quickly can it accelerate / decelerate and speed of movement.
More like almost 1000$ more, because the MKII is what you need to compare it against. The NG travel is tiny.
As others already mentioned, nah the travel of the NG is so tiny that ruins its software.
And the product itself has potential as the manufacturer behind it also makes professional level products, just like Brunner.
When I heard Kickstarter I went to next video lol 😂
How is the CLS60 forces flying a Boeing airplane, do you feel it it had enough forces to feel realistic and is there any mechanical backlash feeling coming from the motors while flying ? Thank you Mark.
Just a vibration, not sure if flying airliners this is the right peripheral choice.
I thought the trim control just moves the trim tabs which would not directly move the elevator when stationary on the ground
Your correct, my error, the elevators would only drop on the older style aircraft with hydraulic controls.
surely trim wouldn't move the yoke unless there was airflow over the trim tabs?
Wouldn't stop me getting one!
Yes it would on the older types, but not to the degree shown obviously, otherwise you may well damage the trim linkage.
@@GregWoodsLancsit’s already fixed in the new software version
Hi I’m from Peru I will like to know what is your throttle system now that you are using my name is Sergio Crisostomo I do have the saitek and it is very old thank you
I am using Honeycomb Bravo throttle Quad.
Plan in place: 1) Sell exercise equipment. 2) Buy FF yoke. 3) Fly and get workout.
😂
I look forward to seeing your next video, you should have arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger 😂
😅
is the hardware trim on the left meant to replace the wheel on the honeycomb quadrant? IE: its needed to be there and not set buttons in the sim to the trim buttons on the yoke? Seems if you set a button with them in the sim, it still trims
@@markm75 the buttons can be configured to trim (disable wheel on bravo) or anything else you prefer. The choice is yours.
@@SimHangerFS so tjose yoke buttons can be reassigned not needed to physically adjust the hardware then. Ie use quadrant wheel
@@markm75 yes
great video! Im curious how this would work on the 777 or airbus in MSFS, and if they have plans on supporting the xbox series x
@@NanaHoshi35 thanks!
Where can I buy this? Website doesn’t have it on sale and I can’t find it anywhere on kickstarter. No official link anywhere.
Kickstarter to launch in June I believe. Subscribe to email and they send you all the details and updates.
Can you add stick shaker for the larger commercial aircraft?
I am not sure, but there is no specific setting for this in the config.
It didn’t really come across on the video but if you fly slower the controls should feel looser.
my cls60 doesnt line up with the sim, slightest turn left and its at full 90 in the sim, i believe the curves need set , but in the flitesim software or sim unsure (first day
@@markm75 calibrate in windows first.
@@SimHangerFS I did but I guess i may have goofed. Will retry. Thx
Hmmmm, I’ve been 90% close to pulling the trigger on a Brunner MKII for the last few months. This has make me pause and think. What’s the dimensions of it? I know the burner MKII is pretty long on the desk!
Details in the video, it is bigger than a Brunner😮
Could this integrate in the DOF reality setup somehow, seems like it may be too long/heavy (dof reality 6dof here), also seems to have less buttons than the Honeycomb, but that could have a workaround with other devices.
Yes, I am struggling to find a workable solution for a DOF H3 .
@@SimHangerFS did you end up finding a solution, i heard 400mmx4mm thick aluminum plate, however, i cant seem to find this exact plate (amazon or google in general)
wonder what FFB "protocol" use this joy+soft, because afaik MSFS doesn't support FFb at all.......maybe this soft can work with an MSFFB2 also 🙃
Have you tried the MS FFB Stick with XPforce?
@@moviefan8939 yes, works ok with planes....not usable with helos (or at least the one i've tried with, don't remeber which one, not MS)
Ha, where to buy in Germany?!
Hi....Is it suitable for all types of Airplanes????
It is configurable to a large extent so I would say yes it would suit most, but perhaps not all.
How about Virtil ? (Not only the devices you're sent out for free ;-)
Hotas & rudder pedals (Ace) coming up in May 😀
