Do you think I am right about a Mid Year Release? Did I miss anything that is a deal breaker for you on what the Road Glide Super Duper Ultra Limited Wish List? Sorry the fous is little fuzzy in the beginning, it gets better...
I think its a work in progress situation. It is apparent to me that Harley has taken input from customers. I'm not a fan personally of what the ultra is at this point, but if they continue to listen to what customers ask for, it will continue to evolve.
I think that the Street Glide Ultra is a nice bike but not a good replacement of the Ultra Limited. My hope is that in the near future Harley-Davidson releases an updated Limited to serve as a step up from the Street Glide Ultra and I would assume that they would do something similar with the Road Glide. Thanks for the video.
As far as the Street Glide Ultra, I feel if Harley would have put the accessory lighting in the front and the rear tour pack lighting it would have been pretty darn good. I would have been very happy with that setup. Just feels cheap to leave those out.
This is how the SG and eventually the RG ultra will look. I think the super duper will launch under CVO badge that will include more speakers and a bunch of tech features.
I saw the RG with limited package coming early on with the website leak. It certainly foreshadowed no dedicated RG limited. It was disappointing they didn’t come out with this RG super duper limited ultra this past week. I watched your live stream and afterwards made my decision. Saturday I bought a 2025 Brilliant Red with black trim and added the limited package (king tour, backrest, lower fairings, new engine guard, heated grips) light bar, side light markers, saddlebag guards. Making it basically a full dresser. I plan on adding Wilber’s Nivomat suspension so I don’t have to constantly adjust preload. I’m happy with my decision. And although it would have been nice to have this already on an ultra limited version, there is no guarantee it will be coming mid year either.
The majority of the Harley Davidson dealerships doesn’t even have room for the 2025 models , the majority of their showroom floor and storage areas are all full with preowned 2023 models Then new & used 2024 models
I do agree with you about the new tour pack not being ready. I wonder if the new light has radar built into it for blind spot monitoring and colision warning. I'd like to see remote locking bags too in the $34.000 range. Oh yeah and make chrome available on all the colors
From an old timer here, I’d say that even though they’re eyeing the competition with the Street Glide and Road Glide…. They could’ve preserved the tradition that’s slowly going away. I mean by that: 1- the Name: Electra Glide has been a staple in the lineup since 65, now there’s just no more “EG” (well, that happened since they decided to shorten the name to “ultra limited”) 2- characteristics: when you think of an EG, imediately comes to mind the idea of passing lamps and the turn signals under them (preferrably the flat turn signals and not the bullet ones). Since the redesign of the batwing fairing, to be honest, to match the looks of Indian AND to accomodate the new technology (Skyline OS screen) there’s no room for what makes an EG.. an EG - here’s the reason for the SG Ultra Same goes for the RG and its headlight…. I understand that HD have to modernize to up their game and not lose mkt share - but they can do without letting go of their tradition
Harley-Davidson makes it difficult for customers thinking there might be mid-year releases. Nobody wants to buy now for fear there is something better coming out. At the current prices you have to be careful and make the right purchase decision. I wish they would release the whole year even if it’s not available until later. Customers could put a deposit down and the dealership has a sale. Please ask why some motorcycles get multiple paint color choices and the Road King Special gets only three. Really only one because they swapped White for Red in 2025. Black and Grey are always a given. I feel like multiple paint options is an easy upcharge if the customer wants it and can really make an unchanged model exciting again.
The new Street Glide Ultra should have been called the "Street Glide Touring". I am an Ultra guy and I want it loaded period end stop. This is a high margin vehicle and if you can't afford it then buy the Street Glide Touring. For pricing I am okay with say $35 - $38K just keep it under a CVO and I want all the bells and whistles plus fully automatic shocks (just like a car with adaptive dampers and ride modes). Every time my 2022 Ultra LIMITED goes in for service they fuck something up. SO NO WAY I want those guys adding a bunch of shit to give me an ULTRA. Good news for me I am not motivated one bit to trade so will hang on a year or so going with a 135 kit. I feel like the Dodge Mopar guys right about now :)
Do you remember they used to also come with a cigarette lighter on them? They’re the only bikes with plug-ins. So a couple ports extra on the bike would also make it an ultra.
There might be a CVO Road Glide Ultra, but would they put out a Road Glide Ultra that has more bells and whistles than the Street Glide Ultra, or would there be a Road Glide Ultra Limited and no Street Glide Ultra Limited? That would surely upset those that bought a Street Glide Ultra, wouldn’t it?
The point is I shouldn't pay $32K+ for an "Ultra" that doesn't have things that should be standard including lights on the trunk, passing lamps in the front, and 4 speakers. I can even overlook the lack of unique (from the Street Glide) wheels and lack of painted inner fairing. The idea of the Ultra and the Limited beforehand was that they came fully equipped for touring.
I switched from a street glide to a road glide because of the bars. I like them both, but i knew i wouldn't have to spend a bunch of money and go through the headache of changing them out.
I get the frustration for no speaker pods on the pack but if you make the tour pack detachable, then you lose those speakers. If you put the speakers in the saddle bags, you always have them. For myself, I’ll put aftermarket speakers and amps in the bike rather than the over priced rocker fosgates. But that is me and I have no problem if someone goes that route
Less stuff would equal less weight most of the time. Seems like 38k ish would be fair for the ultra limited with all led lighting heated grips heated and cooled seat the fog lights and heat deflectors under the seat. The smaller wheel with the bigger tire also contributed to a more smooth ride. The new plastics on the bags and fairings isn't as thick as in the past. So I question the structural integrity as well.
The new 2025 Roadmaster Powerplus is pretty sweet when compared to the Street Glide Ultra. I think Indian did their homework and are hitting HD weaknesses. I'm not an Indian guy but I have to say if I were in the market, I'd probably look closely at the Indian. The new HD Ultra doesn't move my needle like I had hoped, then Indian went and fired a shot over HD's bow. Hmmm
I would agree with that. Indian seems to put more into their Touring bikes and less into their cruisers. HD is kicking Indian's butt in the cruiser segment but still behind in the touring segment
I just thought of another thing I remember the fender she used to also have fancy lights on the front and the rear with a big giant strip piece of chrome also, it said ultra or ultra Limited on the fenders. The altar was just simply a lot fancier than any other Bike.
Add on everything it’s missing and the labor for the install and tell me the price of the super duper and don’t forget the up charge for the paint and above all be honest with the price , I don’t understand the direct sneaker boy is leading HD down
Been a HD lover for years but at these higher prices for bikes nowadays they need to streamline the buying process for riders. The cost of adding back on all of these features riders want equal either money, time or both which we all are running out of!
Hey Mike been watching your videos I think you been doing a awsome job .....I do own a Ultra Classic now ......I really like the street glide ultra if I was in the market for a new bike that be the way I would go .The only thing I wish they would of done is put a quick connect trunk ...Not having speaker pods and lighting on the pack isn't that big of deal .With out them that gives me option todo with what I would like .
I noticed in the back ground your new SG looks smaller than your older SG what do you think, and on the new one it seems the fairing is pointing down compared to the other
I noted some differences in height on a video I did on the my handlebars and not sure it is smaller but shorter maybe. Do you think people would be interested in a video on the differences since I have both?
After 2024, where they released the new model Road Glide, but kept the Ultra the 2023 style (Not upgraded), I patiently understood that they had some things to work out but expected they would have released both Street/Road glide Ultra's this year. Technically it makes no sense to release one (SG Ultra) without the other (RG Ultra). Business reasons, to try and amp up mid-year sales is likely the only reason. (it sucks). I appreciate your insights and hope you are right, that the mid year (when is that?) will have Ultra's. What is frustrating, is that Harley would release a newer model of their top end bike with LESS features of what it is replacing. Think about it... When Ford releases its new "limited" explorer, it doesnt decide to not include power seats and sunroof on the new limited?!? So it seems odd that you're arguing that folks are whining that Harley removing Tourpack speaker pods, lighting, lower lighting (as well as rear bag guards, tour pack rack...etc.) is OK because of all of the other new safety features that were added in the new model. Yes, I anticipate there will be aftermarket options to add... but again, its like telling new Ford buyers, tough, suck it up, and add your own power seats and sunroof... just be happy with the new things we gave you instead.
Mike, thanks for the great video. Is it possible HD is giving a little love to the SG since the RG has the CVOST? Also, how does the SGU compare to the Ultra Classic from a few years ago? What are the changes to the softail suspension? What does it take to upgrade the 117 custom to the 117 HO? I have ‘19 Road King Special. Try to get feedback if they will update to the new center cooled engine when you are in Texas.
With HD almost anything is possible, I would have to do some research to see how it really compares to the UC but it is an interesting idea... Be watching the next few days I have some first Looks at the softails coming out this week, maybe tomorrow even that should answer these questions. on the RKS I will try but they are very tight about discussing future products.
When they came out with the Rushmore platform they also delayed the Road Glide's for two years as well!! They know or knew people were waiting for it.... So many people are whining about stuff they don't have compared to pricing, when the company updates and tries to cut the fat they whine just as much. At the end of the day only 150K of these guys are buying them the rest are just wishing they bought one and saying they are happy with the one they have.... even though they aren't!!
Trying to adapt, and still may buy this year...we'll see...Always have been a batwing guy....Not loving these new ones though......May have to get used to the fixed fairing, like the look better...Hamdling....Up in the air
Here's fantastic $30,000 bike. Give us another $10,000 and we'll make it more fantastic. Sorry, no discount on the T-Shirt. That'll be $158. You'll want to add that to your H-D credit line.
Thank you for the videos. I would like Harley to get asked what about the Triglide and Rg3 why no upgrades ? I personally want to purchase but not sure now if I want to purchase Rg3 25 or stay on 2 w/SG or RG. Is it worth spending on 114 RG3 or not ???
I think the SG Ultra will be an in between a SG and a near future SG Ultra Limited. We had this selection back in 2015, a SG, an Ultra Classic and a Ultra Limited. I would further say we will have the same choices in the RG. They are just repeating the past selection but revealing a little every year to keep interest in the brand. One day we will also get a Ultra Limited in CVO version and no matter the price, they will sell because it will be the ultimate grand tourer. The new 2025 SG Ultra looks too stripped downed, too accessory added, not fully deluxe dressed up to be the Ultra limited. The tour pak missing lights & speakers, double licence plate holder is the main example. More will come, you will see.
So the new super duper Road Glide Ultra, should have Electronic Shocks, Fog Lights, Electronic Locking Bags, Speakers, Rear Collision Avoidance/Blind Side Monitoring. $34,000… that would make it similar to the Indian Pursuit for 2025
Also, if the Road glide Super Duper gets more stuff, I’d be pissed if I already bought the SG Ultra. HD is becoming very good at pissing their customers off!
What if the Ultra is a stepping stone and we Get SG Super Duper (Limited) and RG Super Duper (Limited) later this year, they just can't show it cause the touring pak isn't ready?
Ozark The Road Glide ultra got to have everything ready for grand touring = you buy the bike from the HD dealer and the bike is ready to go and you don’t need to do anything or add anything into it
I think the question to ask is, how much more would it add to the overall current price of the Street Glide Ultra to add passing lamps, tour pack lights and rear speaker pods making it a true Ultra Limited? I think not enough to say it would skyrocket the current price since the Street Glide Ultra is already at a lower cost. And buyers would be ok with that and purchase a true, new style Limited. Harley doesn't do things for no reason. Why they did this, who knows? I'd like to guess that at some point in the near future, we will be seeing a full blown, new style Ultra Limited on both the Batwing and Shark Nose farings and the Street Glide Ultra is just a stop gap for that for now. There is a large base out there that wants it all from the factory and does not want to piece part their bike together. I don't think Harley can afford to lose it's full blown Limited base of riders. The competition is too great and there's too much to lose. I have a 2020 CVO (true) Limited that I absolutely love. I can assure you that it won't be going anywhere anytime soon unless Harley does release that full Limited version at some point. However, I do like the new technology. I don't think anyone's even talked about all this from a CVO viewpoint. Another subject for another day.. Good stuff Mike.
Assuming the Limited kit is $4k, and what do you think the trade in value of your bike will be in a few years as kits and accessories have ZERO value on trade in. So that will be flushing $4k down the toilet. A Ultra Limited will be here soon, just hold on. The sell price will be higher but you will get more $$ on the trade in.
I’m disappointed with the new Street Glide Ultra because it appears the customer got shortchanged on this model. If HD is going to make an Ultra, they should go all he way and manufacture an Ultra Limited. As far as price, it shouldn’t be more than the cost of inflation from the 2024 model.
Those lowers are awful! They look like Polaris knockoffs. They need to redesign them, add the lights back, speakers and add electric bag locks. I'd pay 35g but if they don't do all of that my next bike is a Polaris.
Let’s not forget that there is no wired intercom on this. Driver to passenger comms using Bluetooth has so much delay it’s distracting and unusable. No speaker option for the tour pack is ridiculous. I understand it’s a method to cut costs to not produce a true ultra. Why not just have an ultra package that can be done at the dealer and have it include everything. Fine example of a company not understanding their customer. Or maybe they do understand-their customers are going away and they are making models go away.
Hate to do this but I want features Indian has. I want electronic suspension, blind spot monitoring adjustable windshield. I want touring features others offer that Harley doesn’t but claims they’re the premier touring bike. I will say fit and finish and paint are at the top.
🛑🛑 In 2022, the cost of an Ultra Limited was $29,169. In 2022 the cost of a Streetglide Special was 20,000. The cost difference, between the 2022 Ultra Limited, and the 2022 Streetglide Special was 45%. 45%ish, should be the difference between the Streetglide Ultra and the Streetglide in 2025. 🤷♂️💯
Your math is off IMO, in 2016 a Street Glide Special MSRP was 22K, I know I bought one. I have recorded the MSRP at Launch time for every model since 2020 and a base Street Glide was $21430, the Special was $27,100, the SG ST was 30K, the Ultra limited $27,170 (I round up in my spreadsheet to nearest 10). I get what you are trying to say, the Ultra Cost 145% of the SG but the difference was 7740 and the percent is more like 36%. In My opinion you should compare it to the SGS because the current SG is much more like a special than the base model. $29,169 - $27,450 = 6% in 2022 So todays ultra $30750 - 27750 = 11% ... We can play manipulate the numbers all day, this doesn't take into account feature sets. etc... Black vs chrome cause for a while the Special was only available in black trim... this could get complicated to do it right...
I don’t like these mid year releases. Even for icon models. Show me what you have new for this year, then let me decide if there is anything I want. The last thing I want to do is buy a bike to only find out that the “holy grail “ bike I’ve been longing for was released 2 months later. I know there are changes year to year, and I’m good with that, but show me what’s available and stop making me guess what “might” be available. And then never is, lol.
Ok fine. It’s a good thing guys like you (ok, mostly just you!) let us know what you are hearing, guessing, and using data to keep us informed. Thanks man!

My hope is that in the near future Harley-Davidson releases an updated Limited to serve as a step up from the Street Glide Ultra and I would assume that they would do something similar with the Road Glide. Yeah I think you are spot on again about a mid year release. I think there will be a change in the tour pack
I think/hope there will be a release ... RG Limited with speakers in the lowers, Fat Boy 35th and the new style Road King CVO 🙏
Greets from Germany ✌️
As far as the Street Glide Ultra, I feel if Harley would have put the accessory lighting in the front and the rear tour pack lighting it would have been pretty darn good. I would have been very happy with that setup. Just feels cheap to leave those out.
The street glide has become the stepchild of HD.
This is how the SG and eventually the RG ultra will look. I think the super duper will launch under CVO badge that will include more speakers and a bunch of tech features.

I'll wait till 26 then go this way if nothing happens cheers
Congrats and thanks for tuning in!

Great Vid! Hey man - ask them when we’ll see a Road King (in chrome trim) with the new 117.
They will not comment on future products, I have tried before!
From an old timer here, I’d say that even though they’re eyeing the competition with the Street Glide and Road Glide…. They could’ve preserved the tradition that’s slowly going away.

Btw, i love riding the Ozarks
Your Welcome, and yeah the Ozarks are awesome!

Very informative Mike, keep the videos coming 😎
I kind of feel like they released the street glide ultra first because that is the history of how they have always done it with these two bikes
The navigation needs to be activated on all models, including the 2024 models.
The new Street Glide Ultra should have been called the "Street Glide Touring". I am an Ultra guy and I want it loaded period end stop. Yes, and CB radio and cassette deck. Loved mine. Road it to work everyday with wife on the back

Mike as you and I were messaging yesterday, I did see the new SG Ultra Saturday and I did change me mind a little.
Awesome now you need to go ride one...
@ I’ll wait for that RG ultra

The new Street Glide Ultra Limited is not "Ultra", it's nice set up, but it's just LIMITED.
I feel that a new Ultra Limited if built would sale around $33,000 to 35,000.

I am sure it can be converted to quick detach but it would add a small cost... Thanks you!
I think they also need to upgrade the seat and put a rider back rest!
I could see the plain tour pak if it had a quick release, but it doesn't even have that.
I noticed in the back ground your new SG looks smaller than your older SG what do you think, and on the new one it seems the fairing is pointing down compared to the other

Thank you for the videos. I would like Harley to get asked what about the Triglide and Rg3 why no upgrades ? I personally want to purchase but not sure now if I want to purchase Rg3 25 or stay on 2 w/SG or RG. Is it worth spending on 114 RG3 or not ???

Supa dupa with bells and whistles including heated seats rear volume controls and keyfob locking bags/trunk 40,000 cheers
theres a ultra package for the RG ! WTF people? why would they actually make the bike? in a few years all the extras will be in packages
I am just not sure what Harley is up to. Leaving the trikes as is and not pushing out the RGU just seems like they have their priorities wrong
So the new super duper Road Glide Ultra, should have Electronic Shocks, Fog Lights, Electronic Locking Bags, Speakers, Rear Collision Avoidance/Blind Side Monitoring. $34,000… that would make it similar to the Indian Pursuit for 2025
Don’t forget heated seats. I think those are standard on the roadmaster.
Well, ya got me there, Mike, lol. Great video as always.
@ Thanks you!
Ozark
The Road Glide ultra got to have everything ready for grand touring = you buy the bike from the HD dealer and the bike is ready to go and you don’t need to do anything or add anything into it
I think the question to ask is, how much more would it add to the overall current price of the Street Glide Ultra to add passing lamps, tour pack lights and rear speaker pods making it a true Ultra Limited?
We want new improved different bikes that are exactly the same haha
I think they should leave it to were you can add the limited package if you want a limited
The right thing is to bring SG Ultra CVO and RG Ultra CVO. Then they can call the bike super duper whatever😂🎉
Ask them to bring back alpine green like in 2024
Call it the “Limited” then we have: Street Glide, Road Glide, Ultra, and Limited
No Super Duper?
I’m disappointed with the new Street Glide Ultra because it appears the customer got shortchanged on this model. If HD is going to make an Ultra, they should go all he way and manufacture an Ultra Limited. As far as price, it shouldn’t be more than the cost of inflation from the 2024 model.
Will you please ask Harley if they would provide a parts kit to transition your Pan America into a Hooligan bike?
😎👍
Yup! Wired intercom and music was by far the most reliable and best quality ever. I still use it and am not interested in wireless.
$29,169 - $27,450 = 6% in 2022
So todays ultra $30750 - 27750 = 11% ... We can play manipulate the numbers all day, this doesn't take into account feature sets. etc... Black vs chrome cause for a while the Special was only available in black trim... this could get complicated to do it right...

🤷♂️😂
When you make the vid later name it "2025 Harley Davidson Super Duper model" just for sh*ts & giggles. Lol
That is a great idea for a video!
Answer to the title of this video - "just like the Harley customers - it doesn't exist"
funny comment from a guy who's photo is with Harley Riders...
I get it but for them from a marketing strategy they get multiple new cycles during the year...
Ok fine. It’s a good thing guys like you (ok, mostly just you!) let us know what you are hearing, guessing, and using data to keep us informed. Thanks man!
@ Your welcome, I get your side and I get theirs too
