This is the first time I ever cut anyone's hair in my life, and thanks to your video I have done a pretty good job on my husbands at this time of pandemic. I watched it a few times, I took notes and I played it while I was cutting it and even though I'm not nearly as quick or as precise as you are, the final result is really good. I'm really grateful!

I came back to say THANK YOU! I used this technique on my dad’s hair and it actually worked so well. He is so impressed! I ended up taking it much shorter, as he requested and both my parents are insisting that I did a great job. I’ve never done anything like this before and I was nervous. Now my mum, husband and son are all lining up. 😂 Thank you again for your wonderful tutorial...Although I can’t wait until salons are safe again, it’s not an easy job at all and I think hairdressers are hair artists and well worth the money!

Looks like 6-8 inches. If you've always had shorter hair, try 4-6 inches so it's not a dramatic change.

@@theshark7647 honestly i’m not even sure if you could convince the barber to do anything you want💀 Showing them a video will just make them annoyed and they probably won’t do it, and just screenshots won’t do anything cuz they won’t know how to do it
I’ve been trying to cut my boyfriends hair with other tutorials for years, and I always mess up. I HAVEN’T TRIED YET.... but this tutorial is SO GOOD.. that I’ve learned a LOT more already. I can go off of this one confidently. Thank you so much!

Bro is a comedian and a genius!! This whole time I’ve been hair styling standing on my head, doing jumping jacks, and hanging from the ceiling, and now, I know to stay in one place. All jokes aside, this video was awesome and informative!
Thank you for this! My 5 year old son has anxiety and when he's anxious he acts out so sitting in a barber chair is a no-go. His hair was very long and thick and getting terribly unmanageable. I did this cut on him this afternoon and it turned out great! And he really loves his new hair! I cut about 7 inches of hair off!

I just did my boyfriend haircut and he looked so good! The layering method worked out perfectly I did mess up a little but fixed it by blending the hair out, thank you so much! Will continue to watch your videos for haircuts

Great and masculine cut! i always try to grow my hair to achieve this look but i'm always getting annoyed by the awkward stage and with my hair being way too thick i just end up going for the boring casual fades :D

Dutch Van Der Linde that’s a pain in the ass yeah haha. Personally when my sides are full my head looks big af so I eventually go for the fade after 2-3 weeks of growing them
I used this video as my guide to cut my husbands hair. It’s my first hair cut given with scissors. I’ve buzzed my sons hair when he was little. I kinda got lost a couple of times but was able to figure it out. My husband’s gray and curly hair made it a challenge for sure. He is happy and so am I because he really needed a hair cut. Thanks for your videos. I’ve watched about 10 of them to prep for one basic hair cut. Great instructions.

This is the perfect video for a layered haircut. I've cut my son's hair for years but have been struggling with a collar length cut. The last stylist left him with a mullet. I had a longer hair, asked the barber to make it like that one in the video. But instead he ruined it by cutting the sides and making it a mullet. I'm so angry at him.

Today, I’ve just done the 3rd haircut for my bf, and thank you for your tutorial on layering the medium length as well as the feather effect, it works… I’m not a professional hair stylist though but the result come out better than we expected ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻 from Thailand.
I think I have to show this video next time I go to a salon. It seems like for most hairdressers layering is a quick touch up job at the end of the session.

TheSalonGuy I’ve been really digging using sea salt spray when it’s wet and then blow drying it and not putting in anything else. It makes it nice and light and makes it feel more wavy

Thank you for this, I had cut my front bangs a little shorter a while ago so that they would have more volume, but the rest of my hair didn’t look right, I did what you did and cut a straight line across the side of my face getting shorter towards the front, and wow it made a huge difference with just a little trim, you’re correct it’s all about the base.

This is the hairstyle I have, with wavy and thick hair. I have not had one haircut in the last year where they got it right with evening, layering, and there’s always disconnect. It’s frustrating, I may try cutting it myself tbh

I have the same hair and this is exactly the hair cut i wish i could have every month but they always cut it too short and i have to wait 6 months for it to grow back so i just don't bother with it anymore and i wear it in a man bun that i am very bored with . I shy from being too persistent about the details that i want because i dont want to come off as too superficial or girly or whatever i wish i could just have them watch this video before going in .
