I've heard several times that Ukrainians prefer the name of their capital city to be spelled Kyiv. I didn't know this two years ago, but I do now. And I know why. Out of respect for Ukraine I will spell it Kyiv from now on.

One does not impose spelling, pronunciation or names in a foreign language. For example, London is called "Londres" in French - haven't seen a Brit bat an eye about that. France is called "Gallia" in Greek, Hellas is called "Greece" (or some equivalent) in most other languages. Exonyms and endonyms.
However, I will write it Київ in Ukrainian.
And yes, I do understand that the spelling "Kiev" was that of the russian colonists; however, that is how it got to come to the English language; just like the capital of China is called "Pékin" in French, and not Beijing. Also, the capital of the terrorist federation is called Moscow in English, not Moskva; the second largest city is called Saint Petersburg in English, not Sankt Pieterburg.
(BTW, before anything is replied : I fully support Ukraine in this war.

@@1midnightfish Me the Mrs and 2 cats are IDP's in West Ukraine, our home town in Donbas is not occupied, thank God, but it's very close to the front (60km as the crow flies) and it's too dangerous, there's fierce battles in Avdiivka which is directly east of our town. If the Ukrainian Army can get a victory, we can go back. Cheer's, the Brits have been great since the start. There's a BOJO pub here too!

How much did Russian spend for this attack? a kalibr cruise missile costs $6.5M, a kindjal hypersonic missile costs $10M and a shaheed drone between $20 and 50K. If we account for the lowest shaheed price, the total cost is over $555 millions!

A few days ago they spent $1.2 billion on a single attack and that was 1.5% of their annual military budget. So if they are still on the same fiscal year, they just used up almost another 0.5% of their budget. That is unsustainable and the failure rate is going to mean the next attack will have to be just as large or larger.
If I am correct, the Russians fired 158 missiles and drones, estimated to be valued at $US 1.273 billion, in one night on the 28-29 December 2023.

-- 36 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze UAVs;
-- at least 90 Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 air-to-ground cruise missiles;
-- 8 Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles;
-- 14 S-300/S-400/Iskander-M ballistic missiles;
-- 5 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles;

It's not unbiased, but it's factually accurate. That's called informational integrity. He openly acknowledges his bias, but people fighting for survival tend to be biased towards wanting to live, and Ukraine knows the importance of facial accuracy, having dealt with Russia for so long.

Ukraine should be provided with an airforce--quantity of fighter aircraft, such as F-16s and longer-range precision munitions, such as the ATACMS (more of them, and the longest-range versions should be provided), and the russian military facilities inside of russia should be considered legitimate targets. It is worth noting that support for military aid to Ukraine in America is over 80% and increasing. This is because Americans can see that not only is aiding Ukraine the ethical thing to do, it is the practical thing as well. America has spent only approximately 6% of our military budget so far to help Ukraine. However, over half of the russian army has been destroyed. This is a tremendous bargain by any measure! In addition to this, when russia is defeated in this war, their barbaric ideology of imperialism will also be defeated, making Europe a more peaceful and stable place for many generations - as well as preventing a new arms race in the region. That is why billions spent today saves trillions tomorrow. The vast majority of Americans understand this. Americans also want to see Ukrainian military and civilian casualties minimized. This is why Americans are correct to support giving military aid to Ukraine.
Please write to your elected representatives to request this military aid. If you are an American citizen, please consider writing to President Biden and your other elected representatives, and demand Ukraine be given the above weapons - in war--winning quantities, and soon. The sooner we provide Ukraine the weapons it needs to liberate all of its territory, the sooner this war will be over, and with fewer Ukrainian casualties. Letters can be submitted electronically via the Whitehouse website. One can also google for ones' elected representatives - many of which have similar websites. One may simply write and submit a letter electronically to make one's desire known.
I fully agree with your comment. It's insane that this terrorist attack from Russia is still ongoing AND other countries in the world haven't stepped up to PUT RUSSIA IN IT'S PLACE! Russia is acting so cocky and it's because of the way the world has failed to respond to ANYTHING Russia does..
