I received a birthday gift of an acoustic guitar after graduating from high school and played a variety of electric, acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars over the next 17 years. Then I got out of it in 2014 or so and haven't played anything since. However, I'm now 39 years old and want to get back into playing. I have something called dysautonomias health-wise. Essentially, a couple of parts of my middle brain aren't processing information as well because they're receiving far too much unfiltered information that should be being filtered before it receives them. As a result, I basically suck at doing some singular tasks like driving (can't at all and never have been able to), remembering street names/directions, etc. However, I excel at multi-tasking and doing many things at once, which according to the doctor is "why I'm so smart" and yet feel like an idiot sometimes when I struggle with full-body malfunctions and basic things that most people don't struggle with. I feel like I might do much better on a digital piano/synth. I got discouraged with piano/keyboard during my guitar days because the keyboard that I tried years ago wasn't touch sensitive or weighted. I'm hoping to get an 88-key weighted and touch-sensitive digital piano. Been looking for one to get as a beginner, but yet don't want to buy a crappy one that I'll have to upgrade later on when I play better. Got any brand recommendations? I've been looking at Roland specifically for their exceptional sound sampling from real pianos, since I don't have room for an actual upright piano. Been looking specifically at the Roland FP-series and there are quite a few underneath that. Ever played any and what did you think of them? I'm currently trying to figure out if the trade-off between 88-keys is worth it because a lot of the synths (unless they're a few thousand and up) don't have full 88-keys. The ones that are like $1,500 and $2,000 have the 88-keys lack a lot of the synth and sound abilities. Any suggestions for your personal favorites? I can't really tell what equipment you use. Also, I'm curious if in addition to your professional career creating stuff like gaming themes for companies, have you ever thought about making a personal website connected to your youtube where people can pay a fee to commission you to play whatever their favorite songs are and get like an MP3 of them or something. I'm not sure how sketchy or questionable that would be legally when it comes to selling some of the reproductions of the frequently-requested gaming themes that people like for you to play, for instance. Just thought it might make an interesting side-gig for decent income and also making people happy for a few bucks to wing a song out of nowhere, which you seem to be pretty good at doing with little notice due to your talent. Thoughts?

I can play by ear but I have to constantly rewind and listen so closely. I wish I had a good piano teacher near me.

Legend of Zelda guy... I am SO happy that the games and the songs from them that I loved back in the 80's are still loved and recognized by young people today. This music that inspired me to courage and the desire to do right and help those in need, that embodied the spirit of these silly little 8-bit characters that barely look like people but somehow we were able to understand their heroic spirits because of the music that heralded them.... it makes me happy to know it lives on in a bleak world that needs more heroes.
Both your Zelda and Pokemon are instant ringtones. And if there was some auto-tutorial or something online that would convert midi files to follow-along lessons, then I would beg for you to upload there. You have a unique rendition of songs that really adds mojo to it.

Fantastic Frank. I First heard that being played on an upright in a Youth Hostel near Aberdeen in 1961 and it's remained one of my favourite pieces.
