Sargassum - is it only the hotels who clean up outside their own part of the beach? So I'm staying near the beach road and can bike to a clear spot. Is the area of NON seaweed a large area? I love Tulum and this is a return for me. Just wish to know the true situation, as so many videos show completely opposing situations from massive heaps of sargassum to almost clear beach. THanks for posting!
It was spotty but the issue is getting way better. Right now they have installed nets and barges to keep it off the beach. So you should have minimal issues if you book for august september.
@@thelava_co Thanks for the reply. I went in 1998. Now booked for next week ( 25th August). In 98 there was NOTHING! Yikes! I really appreciate the reply. Many videos on the subject, no consistent answer, yours is the most reliable!
@@thelava_co I just saw on another video that the beaches are actually closed? Is this true? I am finding a blockwall any time I research this otherwise I wouldn't bother you!
@@tordyclark I have not read reports of any beaches being closed in the Mayan Riviera. I know the there is a hurricane in Cabo San Lucas right now and a tropical depression in South America heading for the Yucatan. But I have not seen or heard any reports of beaches being closed.
Cool! Where is that abandoned hotel?
