Thank you, Joan, for your beautiful and powerful music. A year after "Song for David," I was discharged from my forced conscription (draft) into the Austrslian Army. Thank you, and thanks to David (RIP) et al.
this is just so very beautiful, angelic and heavenly ❤ i was a young child in London at this time and am only just having such heartfelt appreciation for Joan Baez ❤
Gracias por esta hermosa canción. Realmente la amo. Ella es responsable de que a mi hijo lo llamara David. Saludos desde Cuernavaca, México, la Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera.
Just beautiful. You can tell this song was still a "work in progress" at the time, as evidence by the lyrics that differed a bit from the version she would ultimately record. What was cool about this movie ("Celebration at Big Sur") was that they showed the performers enjoying one-another's music. Here we get to see Joni Mitchell enjoying Baez' song, and then later in the film, we see Baez and Mimi Farina boogying to CSNY's "Down By the River."
@Mar Thivierge: Hello, dearest Mar 🙂 Do You know what movie it was, where this clip was cut out from...??? Or can it be possible , it was on the "Woodstock" DVD...???
@@Raindropser3 The movie is called "Celebration at Big Sur". It's a film of the 1969 Big Sur Folk Festival in Big Sur, California. It was held just one month after Woodstock, filmed September 13- 14, 1969, and is available on DVD and most of it is on RUclips in pieces. Enjoy!

all this evokes a different era, less cynical, less saturated, when people generally knew how to contemplate, were more emphatic.
