  • We built the iconic 1959 Topps baseball set, and in this series, we’re going through every card to talk about the players, teams and people who made up major league baseball in 1959. Today, we’ll cover cards 260 to 269 in the set. This includes Early Wynn, the fiery 1959 Cy Young Award winner in his 19th MLB season, who would go on to win 300 games and make his way to the Hall of Fame. We also discuss All Stars like Venezuelan trailblazer Chico Carrasquel, pitcher Bud Daley, star hitter Tito Francona, and a multi-player card with Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale.

I miss collecting cards. I was just starting to get back into it when the pandemic hit and prices started shooting into the stratosphere.

Enjoyed the bios on players that are forgotten. Actually my father was a USO escort officer while in Nam for MACV when he was a Captain. I have somewhere one of his patches & very difficult to find this patch. Good job & take care.
