Love the quiet personal pursue, what a blessed person Shadow is. His compositions feed my soul since ever and i am already 44 and i listen to his new and old sounds with all my heart and ears always beating expectations and surprising us all. Unique persona and master musician.
Thanks for using that quote LunaRumms. It's what jumped out at me after watching this clip of the man who continues to make my ears beam. It's brilliant when you admire the human behind the music. Dj Shadow saved my life..
If only he would release another Endtroducing sounding album. Hidden Transmissions from the MPC Era, 1992, has some interesting stuff, but it was a far cry from cohesive
+Llord Llama He's commented on this a few times. I think he's moved on in terms of the type of music he wants to make. If you like Endtroducing, and want an album that sounds like Endtroducing, then listen to Endtroducing
JusT Such a ReaL Person, Shadow """ I've been a dj , musician, 🥁 Drummer ect. For the past 35 years and only 5 years ago got my studio into Dream Shape ,, I'm probably the same age as shadow aswell and know Exactly where he's coming from, that it's a dying Art 🎨 that rummaging for Hours through stacks of vinyl every chance you get is lost in this world of yer ""phone 📱 does all the work "" now ,, Nobody Sweats for music anymore 😢 🎉❤❤❤jaffa Jenkins Dawless jams..... my channel 😊😊
with all of these samples how does he get legal clearance? it seems like a lot of work retrieving all of the licensing for each specific sample and underlined composition. id love to try to do what he does but to publish it legally seems impossible for an upcoming independent artist. I want to make a movie and I wanted to in my own style use samples but my budget isn't that big.
afaik i once read an interview with shadow in which he mentioned that for one album ("the private press"?) he produced about 30 tracks. but he couldn't clear the samples for almost half of it. so yeah, it poses a problem for him as well.
As long as you aren't big time it doesnt matter alchemist talks about how they only come after you if you're making big money. Otherwise dont worry about it too much
The Human Abstract (David Axlerod) + Sekoilu Seesty (Pekka Pohjola) = midnight in a perfect world... And we thank you dj shadow! Those songs are great

Copyright law pretty much exists to make people's lives miserable so that record companies get more money
