It's not silent, we hear about it well, very great for our Tanzanian siblings, the growth of any African nation causes an effect of developing the neighboring nations (that are also African)
African nations should unite economically with currency, open trade, united military, etc... Unity brings prosperity, subordination brings chaos

The forces that labeled him, took his life. The boom being noted now is a result of hard decisions made by the Magufuli government hands down. Many corrupt people in Tanzania hated him and thus his death!

Your knowledge of economics is a little bit limited though... first of all am kenyan, Ethiopia has a bigger population double kenyan one, 70m workers vs kenya 20m workers, more workers more economic output ....back to question of TZ passing Kenya , first of all kenya has been in some kind of recession from when campaigns started for polls in early 2022 to now, the economy contracted plus the previous regime messed the economy alot ...at the moment kenya hasn't grown for like 2years ...plus the bad loans is haunting them ...the real question can Tanzania pass kenya ? Not anytime soon ... Kenyan has far better education and industrial base, better banking, digitization than tz, ...etc etc ...ke economic just. Needs to pick up and start growing, they will recover and even wid 7:00 en the gap...

@@africainsider . You should know that when Tanzania's GDP was at $47 billion in 2015, that of Kenya was $70 billion. In 2021, Tanzania's GDP was $70 billion while Kenya's was $110 billion. Tanzania's GDP increased by $33 billion while Kenya's increased by $40 billion from 2015.
The forecast for 2023 as you've claimed in the video is that Tanzania's GDP will be at $84 billion (a $14 billion increase) while Kenya's will be $112 billion (a $2 billion increase). According to your conclusion, based on these increases, Tanzania's GDP will overpass that of Kenya in about 10 years to come. That's a mad talk, to be honest. So, let's get real
Now, this December of 2023, Tanazania's GDP is $75 billion (a $5 billion increase) while that of Kenya, even after a recession since 2019 and overburdening debts is at $113 billion (a $3 billion increase). Now tell me, how will Tanzania's GDP bypass that of Kenya given these facts. As you've seen, Kenya is growing almost at the same rate as Tanzania, that $14 billion leap in Tanzania's GDP has not happened as you've seen.
So, unless you're assuming Kenya will stagnate then Tanzania's GDP is not going to pass that of Kenya any time soon.

    • @rmmvw
      @rmmvw Год назад +5

To be honest.. GDP is a useless measure of the well-being of nations... It's just a dick measuring contest between rich people. The important measure here is GDP per Capita, as it boils down to how much economic power the average citizen wields.
Of course Nigeria has a higher GDP of all, because it is one of the most populous countries in Africa, but is the average Naija living better than a Tanzanian? Per Capita GDP explains that.
(I have a master's degree in economics if anyone questions my credibility)

President Samia has a large influence in the uptick of FDI that has occurred in Tanzania. There is a grudge against her and fear that she is pushing a form privatization, that does not benefit lower income Tanzanians. However the future will tell. So far overall, Tanzania is becoming a much more stable and appealing investment stage than Kenya and other east Africans countries

Some of the issues I see with Tanzania right now tho is a lack of advanced education compared to that of Kenyan students. Namely in the strategically important majors of the future. However recently India founded its first ITT-Madras outside its country in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Also Tanzania currently lacks employment opportunities in scale. They also lack enough energy and internet connectivity to promote a future productive economy (tho large FDI is being made in that sector).

We are all East African so the growth of TZ or any EAC member is welcome. But you’re always comparing Kenya with TZ . There’s no competition here. Every country higher development is a welcome news. Also you forgot that you cannot possibly compare TZ economy versus Kenya . So for a country to overtake another country economically it means the other being a failed state. Is Kenya anywhere near that even if annually it grows by 3% and TZ say 5%?
TZ can even grow by 7% versus Kenya
    5 % but that doesn’t mean they’re overtaking Kenya.
Kenya level of development is far a head for now comparable to TZ. For example most developed western countries they merely grow their economies by 1-3% yet Africa has mean average of 5%. Does it mean that Africa is overtaking the West? Japan growing by mere 0.1% . Does it mean a country like Rwanda growing at 7% is set to overtake Japan? You need to understand economics specifics bro. So this notion of yours TZ overtaking Kenya is a popular fallacy. But I understand you for purposefully narrate it controversially to generate views and comments on your You tube so as to make money but deep in your heart you know where the truth is.
Bottomline the growth of any EAC country or any other African country is a welcome news and no unnecessary comparisons.

Not necessarily. If you do the math since now Tanzania has a faster GDP rate, by the next 10 years it shall surpass Kenya. By 2028 it says Tanzania shall have approximate GDP of 130billion USD while Kenya have 150billion USD. Closing the gap of today which is is approx. 25 billion USD gap to 20 billion USD in the next 3 years. And unlike Rwanda and Japan, there GDP gap is far bigger than Tanzania and Kenya. So yes in the next 10 years it may surpass it.

      Let me correct you.
TZ GDP is currently at $84 billion. Kenya’s GDP is at $112 billion this year.
In 2021 it was $70B vs $110B respectively.
You can blame elections but are we currently doing better economically?

You used the wrong pronunciation for Tanzania. Please stop using Ugandan/Kenyan pronunciation when saying Tanzania. Also, electricity in Tanzania is not affordable; it's actually very expensive. Separately, the current president of Tanzania is not "Madam Suluhu." Her name is Mama Samia. For those reasons, I downvote this video..

Let's stop blaming and taking responsibility for what is happening in Kenya.
We have to produce and buy our products. Stop waiting for others to invest in you. Start by value addition on small scale then expand to bigger industries.
