Hey Seth,,, How much set back and What prop you running on it? I just put the same motor on my x19 Not getting the speed and rpm’s im looking for with pt tro4 25p
How do you like the mercury 200xs I have a x19 and am looking for a larger motor. I really would like a 250 does your boat sit to far in the water or do you think the 200 is to heavy for the boat? Thanks
I love my mercury. The stern of the boat does sit significantly lower with the 3.0L 200 Mercury (505#s) compared to my old 2.6L 150 Yamaha (418#s) but I also added a 10” jackplate which is quite a bit of weight. However, it’s definitely not too heavy for the boat. It runs great and still drafts very very shallow. I have fished some extremely shallow stuff in my boat
I've got to tell you that I'm not really impressed. I once had a 2007 Bass Cat Pantera 2 that weighed 1425, plus 180 lb fisherman, all my tackle, empty wells, 50%fuel, 80 fortrex on the bow and ran 76+ with a 200 hp 2007 SHO at 6000 rpms. I'm eyeing the Xpress 19 for my Florida home. Maybe it's the 4 blade that's slowing it down, my 'cat ran a 3 blade but I don't remember the dimensions. Did you measure prop shaft to pad height?
This boat was setup to go as fast as possible. I’ve been into fast boats my entire life. The design of the boat is ultimately going to be the final determining factor of the speed and efficiency. The bass cat is not really a fair comparison because it is way faster than an Xpress will ever be because of it’s design. It’s a performance glass boat, which gives it a huge advantage over the aluminum because of the perfect and smooth pad design and aerodynamic bull design. The Xpress is by far the fastest aluminum boat on the market but if fast is what you are wanting then you’re gonna wanna look into glass boats again. I sold this boat a few years ago and bought an Allison XB2003 that runs 91 with a 225 pro xs, 36v Ultrex, full fishing load and 2 people, because I wanted more speed. I’ve got a few videos on my channel if you’d like to check it out. The Xpress is an amazing fishing platform that can compete with most cookie cutter glass boats that are on the market today. But if you’re wanting to be at 80 mph or more with a fishing load you need to look into a basscat eyra, Allison, bullet, gambler, or possibly a 20’ phoenix with a 300
@@SethLee No thanks on THAT much speed. I'm older now and comfortable cruising around 50 MPH from spot to spot. It just surprised me that the speed wasn't greater given the weight of the boat and how aerodynamic the 19 appeared. Given that the Xpress has a pad of some sort (I haven't looked under one yet to see it), I thought I was comparing apples to apples with both boat's weights and speed.
@@richerwin6397 the Xpress does have a pad but the all aluminum construction really limits it’s speed. It’s impossible to get the aluminum perfectly smooth and straight for top end performance, and the welds on all the angles/joints (especially on the pad) cause a loss of speed because the can’t be ground down completely smooth without loosing their strength. But if you are just wanting a good fishing boat to cruise around in and not be the fastest on the water then the Xpress is the way to go! They ride great and take rough water just as good as a glass boat. They also have huge front decks. It’s also nice to not have to worry about banging up your gel coat constantly, the aluminum is tough and can take a beating!
This motor is not flashed. It’s a stock 200 Mercury Pro XS. Mercury’s cannot be flashed, only the 4.2L Yamaha 4 stroke engines can be flashed currently.
I'd probably keep that 4 blade. You could probably go 4-5 mph faster with a 3 blade Mercury Tempest, but you would be alot more likely to come unbuttoned from the water and looping that thing out at 85+ would majorly suck!
Rowdy Broomstick I have a 25p Tempest Plus as a spare but it’s just not enough prop, I bang the limiter with it at WOT. I want to get my hands on a 26p TXP or a 27p Tempest soon
Eric Mitchell If you would have watched the full video or read the description it clearly states that the boat is being renovated and the lids are removed to be refinished.

If your 200 is now 332 flashed could a 90 Mercury be flashed to say 150hp?

Oh okay good to know thx you have a very fast boat🌻
Are you making this boat as light as possible? Seems to be lacking an interior?
The video and description clearly state the boat has been completely stripped down for renovations.
@@SethLee excuse me for not reading the description.

[Ooooohh Kay. so, why are all the compartment lids off of the boat!? Hmm!

Ya with all the lids off
