What's hilarious is that between the end of this show and Improvaganza to the revived American Whose Line, Ryan and Colin didn't hang out at all and both said that they just went to live different lives, which is to be expected, since they went from British Whose Line to American Whose Line with little to no time between. It was akin to Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters, they were just co-workers. Hard to say now though, Colin usually speaks high praises of Ryan without being asked about him.
mtnetsurfer I’m pretty sure he realized from the start, “with a badly timed bald joke!” But that probably was a lucky guess to say even if he didn’t know yet
"It all started with a badly timed bald joke!" "My god! It's horrible!" Its amazing how he managed to deliver such perfectly timed comedic lines without even knowing what was happening on the screen.
Mix some teamwork together with the audience reactions. Ryan will always ensure that Colin figures out Newsflash or Press Conference. It's a turn based puzzle!
"Are these things capable of reproducing" was a great question, with an hilarious answer. Did anyone notice the random line "that was too close for comfort" came right during a clip of Ryan pushing his head through Colin's legs? More perfection.
@@Dead25m Mostly when I see people make this comment they're talking vibes. And sometimes people who seem close on TV are just work colleagues or worse, there's active animosity (look up Abbot and Costello if you want proof of that). So I like to inform people that the vibes in this case are accurate. They are actually close, and have good chemistry off the set as well as on it.
Drew wasn't good at any of the scenarios, but he was the perfect host because his laughter is so contagious, it gives us permission to enjoy the antics even more!
The thing that makes a good team truly is a strange magic. Somehow he was this bridge between us and the comedians. Like - their minds operate in a place where you kind of need an ambassador to (1) sometimes bring their cleverness down to our level and (2) drag them back into a TV appropriate land as they were starting to sail for more distant shores. Drew Carey just seemed to be the right guy for the job. It worked well.
The most underated part of the clip where Colin is superimposed over himself is Ryan's joke about him not knowing that Kid Rock is just one guy. That unintentionally got all of us ready to die from laughing at Colin.
For people who don't know: the Kid Rock joke came from a greatest hit game earlier in that shooting when Ryan said Kid Rock is a band and they made several joke about it afterwards. This one by Ryan IMO was the best of them all.

I'm actually amazed Colin got his own newsflash when he did. Ryan and Chip were giving him nothing to work with up until the "sunglasses to help with the incredible shine" hint.
An essential part of a good comedian is his (or her) willingness to be the punchline as long as it's a good joke. Jay Leno is willing to poke fun at his own chin. Conan O'Brien is willing to poke fun at his own hair. David Letterman is willing to poke fun at the gap in his own teeth. Colin Mochrie is willing to poke fun at his own hairline. Ryan Styles is willing to poke fun at his own dorky resemblance to Doogie Howser.
Leno makes fun off his chin because it's really not a big deal at all. It's always come off to me more as a gesture towards self depreciation than done in earnest. Conan on the other hand makes fun of pretty much every aspect of himself.
Conan makes fun of his Irish heritage playing off an exaggerated Irish accent and making references to their reputation as drunks. He also uses his height as a punchline.
