Colin once said in an interview that the biggest difference between the British version and American version is that the American version was set-up to get big laughs out of the audience, so I wouldn’t be shocked if many of these bits gave contestants prior knowledge so they could set up smarter jokes during improvisation.
You can just TASTE the difference in the way Colin handles the subtle hints and keeps the joke running, whereas Drew just straight up asks if there's a monkey behind him, lol. 😂
I miss the original Newsflash where it wasn't just "try to find the grossest thing possible" and it was actually watchable. Yeah there were a few that are hard to sit through (maggots...) but most are just silly.

Something that irked me whenever Brad was one of the broadcasters was when he'd ask Ryan or Colin to use "descriptive nouns" or "be as exact and descriptive as possible for our viewers." I know he was just trolling to get a rise out of them, but sometimes I'd roll my eyes along with Colin and Ryan and think, "Just give them a hint, you dingus." 😂
Yeah he was an actor not an improvver and he got thrown into doing some of the games, which explains why he's not the best at games sometimes. Imagine never having played a game of basketball and then being thrown into a game with the best players in the world. Thats how I see it
