That actually looks fun, super fast. That pool is very dark though. Wish we could see the underwater picture better

I think they uhhhh need to get uhhhhh new uhhhh commentaters uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Uhhhh he speaks more then one language. How many languages do you speak? Uhhhh?
i mean the native english speaker is doing it as well lol
@REALLY! Short Shorts
The commentators sounds like he knows nothing about swimming and is BSING his way through.lol
They need longer pools for that
with sharks in it

I’m a swimmer. Technically they do not they do all swim strokes, styles etc. there are 50m races and it would be unfair and unnecessary, they would need a bulkhead to put in the middle of then pool. (If it was a 100m pool). Whereas, if you have a 50m pool all distances can do it (25m is not a distance in meets or championships).
Maybe in ocean
Wow! My friend just sent me this link! This is what we did back in Ukraine in Odessa in late 70s. Monofin was a rarity, but we used our own designed flippers, glued from rubber flippers "Dolfin" and carved textolite copper plates used in electronics. Oh, those days! Great memories! But what these girls are doing now is superb!
Next sport that should be admitted into the Olympic==> finding pennies at bottom of pool.
And holding your breath under water
They are the least impressed commentators over a new world record
Every time a swimmer went in, they were about 3 seconds ahead of WR and every time they finished it was 0.2 seconds. Also that WR line seemed waaaayyyyyyy off?!?!
True
That world record line currently holds the world record. Unfair advantage tho, as doesn't have to breathe.
Finswimmer here: the WR line here is not computed the same as in classical swimming where your last lap etc is not as fast as the other. But here they don't take that into account which sets this off a bit. Was confused too at first :)
The reason they are ahead is because as they first go in their first lap is going to be faster than their others. The world record line is an average speed of the world record.
That's one hell of a back workout
abs and hips too they are doing dolphin kicks
I wonder if I'll end up having 6 abs 😂
@Space QuackHD I can't relate. I don't feel a thing except my back turning into a solid stone
@@AlbaderBohamad No offence, but your doing dolphin kicks wrong. You should try kicking on your back, and instead of trying to pull your legs with your back, focus on doing something similar to a ab crunch, and really force your legs up. Once you get the upkick, focus on the down kick, don't use your back, just your hamstrings to pull your legs.
How do they not get scoliosis
I NEVER KNEW THIS EXISTED OMG IM SO HAPPY
I DIED when I saw their one big flipped 🤣🤣
Amazing relay !
0:35 It seemed to me alone that Italy was drinking water
Yeah you do a little. Timing breath when snorkel is above water and are speed would be difficult
Does anyone know what type/brand of snorkels they use? Doesn’t seem to have a valve from what I can see.
How do they breathe through the snorkel when it's being submerged frequently and, presumably, fills up with water during that time?
They blow out the water before breathing in. You can see it when you look closely, there is always a little fountain coming out of their snorkel
They breath in a very short time frame. And they need first to blow out all water before they can breath. It's amazing. Finswimmers have huge lungs and a lot of power.
Really good. The monofins take quite a bashing on the turns
very impressive
How are they even breathing through the snorkels???!!
Breathing with mouth
Just like any snorkel through the mouth
It seems like they're underwater more than above water! Learning how to breathe at just the right moment must be part of the training
@@liachang126 exactly by practising you learn when to breathe. Most of the time the snorkel is filled with water
But they also blow out the water before breathing in. You can see it when you look closely, there is often a little fountain above the snorkel
Espetacular
I think it's time to change my sport from swimming to this 😂😂
Muito legal!!!👏👏👏👏
Sei molto brava ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Bom dia.
When you are stuck at home and want to be a mermaid...I don’t even like water.
Pellegrini?where are u
Ive never seen this before and my first reaction was THEYRE GOING SO QUICK WHAT
Awesome....from India....congratulations Russia
Is there a reason why they must circle swim?
Is this a real?
NOMBRE DE LA DISCIPLINA ACUÁTICA Y SUS CARACTERÍSTICAS? Ayuda
alguns nasceram para nadar,
muito interessante.
Can one do this in YMCA?
The real mako mermaids
What goggles are they wearing? I want a pair.
I want tickets riGHT NOW
What? What is this?
Amaizing
Somebody give them some longer snorkels for christ sake
The longer the snorkel the more exhaled air you breath right back in, getting overall less oxygen and less performance. I guess the occasional water coming in to be spitted out again is worth the few % more oxygen
you don't actually breath that much in this sport. Muscles are used to work without air and athletes too
We are evolving to be fastest mermaids😉❤❤❤❤ omg omg just loving the spirit
They are almost as fast as Michael Phelps without fin.
Jimmy Vegas dolphin kicks underwater is the fastest water movement without any equipments. Michael Phelps does butterflies which isn’t even the fastest stroke.
r o y c e butterfly is the fastest stroke of you master the technique perfectly
mattie_ sizer Caleb Dressel swam the fastest 100meter freestyle and butterfly. His freestyle time was: 46sec and his butterfly time was: 49. Same person.
mattie_ sizer butterfly is not the fastest stroke no matter how much you perfect the stroke.. you very clearly have no idea what you’re taking about because if that was the case people would swim fly during freestyle races considering that during freestyle you can literally do whatever you want
Jimmy 41se for the girls first 100m of a 200m for 100m Phelps fastest in relay I think 46.96 , 7 sec is a big difference.
How many sports do we need?
Swimming competitions are getting crazy. What's next...Platform diving in the Winter?
Hello what is the name of this sport ?
Is this Olympic?
If not, I think it should be!!!!
I didn't know this sport existed.
The way the streamline hands fit together is different from swimming. 🤔
By the way, Their goggles are cool. I want this.
No, Their streamline position is the same as normal swimming
Fantazija !

It's crazy this sport exists and even more insane that people showed up to watch it!
Why did I get this video and what’s the point of this racing, worlds fastest mermaid? Is that a snorkel or a periscope?
Why don't they drown at every turn of the bell? Do you have a snorkel ball or something?
For some reason half the races don't have English commentary...
....20th edition of this?? How? How??
You may as well do real swimming
To true
They would if they wanted to
mattie_ sizer snowflake alert
I mean, it is real swimming.
That’s what I’m sayin. Flippers. Snorkle. Tf
Poetry in motion.
I wonder if this sport will make the Olympics?
5 mph in water…amazing.
That is a really hard sport
Shit where i try this ?
Whose down!
Imma buy those Fins now from aamzon ha
Looks so fun
Meldonius won again ..?
i see the players of Russia and Ukraine having warm hug.
lol
Why not use longer snorkels?
Why should they? These work perfectly, and the longer the snorkel, the more water comes in and the harder it is to blow out the air.
@@2ts706 why are they banned?
Wow imagine Michael Phillips racing with fins
Holy crap they are fast
I like swim
What happen just just normal swimming
finswimming with surface, would be more interesting in the sea & around the island
Mermaids 🧜♀️??? Ariel is that you? 😝
They need to put the shark that chased Ariel and Flounder in this pool to make it interesting. 😂
😄
How fast...
Cant believe this is a sport
Can someone explain what the HEECK this sport is
👏👏👏👏👏
Exactly
That is the most mermaid like sprouts ever 😂

The best.... Uh commentator uhm... Ever? Uhm
A-a-a-alright,Russia!
Had no idea that this existed until just this second
Algum BR aqui? Kkkk
When I was 11 years old, I could swim the length of an olympic pool underwater up and back. I could also hold my breath for 2 minutes.
No, you couldn't.
Wowo !!!
The judges should have checked the Russian fins for propellers.
If sports such as bicycles are in the olympics, i don't understand why can't this game...
