Thanks for checking the video out. I don't really like to dive too much into music theory when producing. I think it's good to learn theory, but I'm not thinking about any theory or rules when I'm creating because I like to be free to create and express emotion. That's just my personal preference though.
My last reply to your messages never really felt right to me. Though I wasn't intentionally being rude, I still feel that if you requested a music theory tutorial, it was for a reason. So your comment a huge part of why I made this video: ruclips.net/video/AjSaxe8dmFs/видео.htmlsi=jwnLo9g0gsv5GFoL Thank you!
EVERYONE!!..... DON'T BOTHER CALLING THE FIRE DEPT. THIS 🔥🔥 IS JUST TOO HOT TO HANDLE!!! BROTHER MELO!! BLESSINGS MY BROTHER 🙏✊🏽 SALUTE!!! Yessir! Love both! First one reminds me alot of the 90-94 era R&B production, mixed in with your sound and the current R&B bounce. The second beat, IMO, is more closer to the "Melo sound," based on what I've heard from you in past videos. Some of my favorite 90's R&B songs: Dru Hill - Promise Aaliyah - One In A Million Faith Evans - Soon As I Get Home Mary J. - Not Gon Cry Tevin Campbell - Can We Talk Monica - For You, I Will / Angel of Mine Ginuwine - So Anxious Tyrese - Sweet Lady R. Kelly - Down Low (Live To Regret It Mix) 112 - Love You Like I Did 702 - Steelo SWV - You're Always On My Mind Jodeci - Feenin TLC - Diggin On You Maxwell - Fortunate I could keep going for days! I got a question - after making beats for all these years, when did you become confident in your "sound?" Was it immediately? One thing I'm trying to do this year is to reach out to more upcoming R&B artists to work with, as i feel I've gotten to a point where I'm comfortable in my "sound," but I still get insecure at times. Would love to get your 2c on it here, or perhaps in a future video.
Thanks bro. I really appreciate it. 🙏🏾 And that's a great list. I think I'm going to make a playlist from these comments lol. Honestly, I'm always trying to move forward with my sound, so I can never be comfortable and feel that I've "gotten there". But what's helped me to gain confidence in my music over the years has been a few things: working with artists and seeing the looks on their faces when their songs are played back, validation from those I look up to, and then one that's especially important - comments like the one you just made. But the common denominator in all of these things is putting the music out there to see what kind of response it gets. I've heard your music and I think you should most definitely be working with artists. (You have what it takes bro. 💯) I think it would be a great idea to find 1 or 2 local artists you really believe in (and whose styles fit yours) and build with them. Putting whole albums together with indie artists has been one of the best ways for me to sharpen my skills while learning to be well-rounded. Thanks again bro. I Definitely think that question would be a good idea for a video. 🙏🏾🫡
Bro! I can here that Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis vibe all in here bro! Even Guy too.........Shessh! Sorry Im just seeing this........playing catch up! Blessings!
I appreciate it my brother! That's definitely an honor. Man you know I understand. I have to catch up too lol. Blessings to you and your family bro. 🙏🏽✊🏽
You keep that 90's R&B sound alive brother, for real! ✊🏼💫 The melodies of those beats are simply beautiful... especially the second beat is amazing. Some of my absolute favourite 90's R&B songs are... Joe - All The Things (Your Man Won't Do) Joe - Good Girls Jagged Edge - He Can't Love U Jon B. - Someone to Love Boyz II Men - On Bended Knee
I appreciate it bro! 🙏🏾✊🏾 That means a lot because I really enjoy your music as well. And those are some really good ones (90s songs). I wouldn't even know where to start naming mine lol. Thanks for the feedback bro!
Yeah it sounded just like the EP I would have used too. I just love stacking them and making them sound smooth and warm al together. I just watched the second beat, and i just HAD to get out my little keyboard, load up my fav lead sound, and match the audio level and JAM!!!! The second beat truly thundered into my soul man!
@@JSoulKeys I do run my final masters through external hardware. but I usually don't take the time to do so with most of my instrumentals. I usually just process those in the box.

Great work, I really loved the 2nd one. Unsolicited advice, you alternate a bar with snare hits on beat 2 and 4 with a bar with hits on beat 2 and a syncopated 4. I keep wanting to hear the snare hits on 2 and 4 repeated and then broken up later with the syncopated bar. Don't know if that makes sense, but it does in my head, LOL. Regardless, you know I love your work!
Thanks bro! And your advice is always welcome and appreciated. Listening back, that definitely makes sense. Thanks for coming through and supporting as always my brother! 🙏🏽✊🏽
