When I go back to Taiwan sometimes the older shopkeepers see that I look younger and switch from speaking Taiwanese to speaking mandarin and I have to ask them to switch back. Then they get very surprised that I can speak Taiwanese but not mandarin. It’s pretty funny

我發現很多台裔的朋友，雖然移民，仍保留台語母語的能力，甚至表達能力比華語強（例如早期的 團體L.A BOYZ），黃仁勳也是 ，還有我所接觸到的人都如此，可能他們的父母祖父母都希望子女保有與台灣的情感連結吧

我遇到很多澳洲第二代臺裔，即使他們可能對台灣的瞭解度是零，但是他們的閩南語程度比在台灣的同齡人要好，因為第一代幾乎都在家和第二代講母語。
金紙 I call it "hell money" 😂 It's money for the dead basically. I explain it that way.
My translation: 金紙:Ghosts 💰 💸 for pray ancestors.
In SG, we call it "hell notes". Maybe every Chinese culture in Asia have a different English translation for it.

I was confused when you called "Hokien" as Taiwanese. It is spoken in many other places outside of Taiwan.
In Taiwan, we just name it Taiwanese. Indonesia and Malaysia are sharing the same language too, they also name it in there own way.

去澳洲幾年基因就變了長得跟台灣人不一樣。那四百年前來台灣的漢人基因怎都不會變。 怪了。
我台灣出生的，跟他手毛差不多一樣多😂而且還不是我母系那邊的俄羅斯和韓國的基因，是我爸這邊的台灣基因。
