    So you do brackets first of course. 8/2(2+2)=8/2X2
    But you always always always work from left to right after that. I don’t care that it’s multiplying the bracket, it is not the bracket itself. Therefore,
    8/2(2+2)
    =>8/2X4

    Answer to the math problem is 1. Technically multiplication and division are considered to have the same weight, but Multiplication comes first. BEMDAS (or PEMDAS), not BEDMAS. If the creator of the equation wants the division to be solved before the multiplication, they will use brackets to indicate this, so (8 / 2) * (2 + 2) would be 16. but 8 / 2(2 + 2) is 1

      no, sorry, it is 1. Multiplication and division only technically have the same weight, but multiplication is still handled first, and so is addition. It is considered courteous to use brackets when there is ambiguity in an equation, but when brackets are not present, multiplication is always handled before division, and addition always before subtraction. The equation could be writen as y = a / b(c + c). When solving for y, the equation condenses to a / (bc + bc). In the case of this equation, we happen to know the values for a, b and c, so its just plug in and go.

    I asked CHATGPT and here's the ans-
    To solve the expression 8/2(2+2), we follow the order of operations, which is commonly remembered using the acronym PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division from left to right, and Addition and Subtraction from left to right).
    However, there can be ambiguity in this expression due to the placement of the parentheses. Some people interpret it as (8/2)(2+2), while others interpret it as 8/(2(2+2)).
    Let's solve it using both interpretations:
    If we interpret the expression as (8/2)(2+2):
    First, we simplify the parentheses: 2+2 = 4.
    Then, we perform the division: 8/2 = 4.
    Finally, we multiply: 4 * 4 = 16.
    Therefore, the result is 16 if we interpret the expression as (8/2)(2+2).
    If we interpret the expression as 8/(2(2+2)):
    Again, we simplify the parentheses: 2+2 = 4.
    Then, we perform the multiplication: 2 * 4 = 8.
    Finally, we perform the division: 8/8 = 1.
    Therefore, the result is 1 if we interpret the expression as 8/(2(2+2)).
    Please note that the lack of clarity in the original expression can lead to different interpretations and results. To avoid confusion, it is best to use clearer notation or include additional parentheses to indicate the intended grouping

      @spamfilter32 Год назад +1

      in math with multiple components there is an order of operations, where each part (+, *, / etc) is an operation. Normally we perform all operations left to right, but some operations have greater importance then others, so parenthesis (or brackets) are always done first. Then exponents (square, cube etc.). Then Multiplication, then Division, then Addition, and finally Subtraction. So for the equation a + b + c you will just go from left to right, and for a + b - c you will also go from left to right, but in the case of a - b + c you will add b + c first, then subtract that from a. So in the above equation y = a / b(c + c) the parenthesis is done 1st, then you multiply b by the quantity c + c, then you divide a by that amount. or y = 8 / 2*2, which becomes y = 8 / 8 which equals 1.
