Hahaha! I did the pageant circuit as a child -I went for the dance competitions, but we found out all the money was in pageants -so I learned to walk a T pattern and entered them when I was already competing in dance. It was so much fun! I got to meet girls from all over the country and stay in hotels and wear pretty dresses. It was a long time ago.
Thank you very much! I will get some as soon as possible! I braid my hair every time it gets wet. I have to do 2 - 4 braids and It still stays wet for 20-24 hours unless I take it down. Your videos inspire me to not cut it short! Thank you so much again!
I don't have nearly enough hair to attempt this style, but I loved the look of that first rope braid you did with the english braid mixed in. I'm going to see what I can do with that.
Heather, you look beautiful in this video and I love the braidy hoopla. I keep wanting to try this kind of style, but never do it. Maybe I'll take the plunge!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE this... and my absolute favourite part is the first rope braid you did, with the English braid.. even if I can't find the time to try the whole thing, I am SO trying that braid!
whenever i have long tails, i tie them off with a clear elastic and then braid the tail separately forming a new braid with more even sections... nicer to deal with when it comes to up-dos!
It seems like those long tails could be braided, maybe even with a different braid than the main part. That is, do the braid, put the clear elastic on, then re-separate the tail into equal strands and continue the braid or do a new braid.
Thumbs up AND likes. That is amazing. Also, nice that you break it down as "just try different braids and pin them up" which makes it much less intimidating than it looks. (And it looks SUPER intimidating in the opening pictures. Was sitting here and literally said "holy crap" when they started)
They are hand carved leaves on a bit of twine. When I got my new Poe hairfork from Keoma, it was wrapped up in paper and tied with the twine and two of her hand carved leaves. I figured, hey! Choker!
You are awesome! Just that very first braids combo you did is beautiful!! I might not have enough hair that's all the same length but my sis is gonna totally be my guiney pig! Woot woot!! Thank you! 3
Amazing hair style Torrin.... You should totally see my screen. I'm a web developer and I'm catching up on your videos so I decided to have my main work related preview browser on the left of my screen, my script on the upper right, and your video playing on the bottom right. Multitasking! Yes! Lol.
I probably will - I spotted a ton of hairstyles that were interesting. I really, REALLY wished that the bluray people would have done a bigger chunk of behind-the-scenes stuff dedicated to hair and costumes. It's just silly not to when you've got so many, you know?
Avoid layers! Your braids will shred like mad and when it's humid? It'll puff and get bigger. Not everyone loves cones, but if you want a bit of weight on your hair? Try a coney leave-in conditioner or a serum. I think it'll help with the bigness & I know it will help with tangles and give you more slip. Also? Try braiding it when damp. It'll give you good waves, but it also might help tame some of your volume. It's worth a try, at least.
Then please feel free to be blocked from responding to my videos. I realize I am not for everyone, but common courtesy and manners dictate that when you aren't digging something, you simply move on. So thanks for he input, but you are not my kind of people. Next!
I just take care of the ends as best I can and try not to torture it too much. It takes awhile, but it grows eventually. From chin to waist was pretty quick - after that the ends seem to get damaged more easily and I have to trim more to keep it nice, so it takes a little longer.
This looks so beautiful on you! You are the queen of hair. At this point in me life I am terrible at pinning, but hopefully someday I'll be able to do this style. I love it so much. Thanks for this vid! :)
I'm debating it. It's just perimeter braids with additional accent braids added in, but my perimeter braiding is shaky at best. I may still attempt it at some point.
hehe oh you remind me so much of my French teacher :P you just have that awesome personality of yours and I absolutely love your videos ^_^ I will definitely try this on my hair. thanks for you awesome videos ;)
I'm so glad I found this video, I was looking for this kind of look for an upcoming school dance, And this worked well with the undercut(the nape of my hair to the level of my ears is all shaved off) that I have on my hair. I just added rick rack (color of my dress) and pearls on a stand. Thank you so much.
All those braids...wow. Reminds me of the etsy store of Tressa the Hairdressa. Lots of braid headbands in styles I've never seen before. Maybe you could show us how to do some of them?
I do have a general hair care video -and I answer questions about my hair in a few different Q&A vids. Short answer though? I switch it up between Pantene, Aussie stuff, and Nexxus Humectress conditioner -I also clarify with Suave clarifying shampoo once a month.
I love this one. How long is your hair now? I chopped mine off (37"). Now I am trying to grow it out. I told my husband next time remind me of how much pain in the butt short hair is. I just love all of you videos. Keep up the good work :)
I never thought about doing rope braids, it's a really good idea. It gives the idea that not every single piece of hair is in a braid. I did that, and it didn't come out as good. Good job! :) Btw, I absolutely LOVE your hair, especially its length. I'm so jealous, it's been years I've been trying to grow it, but it isn't nearly as long as yours. How'd you do it?
every time you amaze me! I had a question about growing out my hair. I have very thick hair and I find that it's just to big (I have hair up to my lower chest) does it ever get heavy enough to just flatten out or does it just get worse? Do you think layers make it worse or better?
Have you done a hair care video that shows what shampoo n junk you use? Ive been using 2 different brands (for at least a month each) and they've poo poo'd on my hair so much that Ive debated on going back to the more expensive stuff ($25+/bottle) since it made my hair look healthier. It's getting very depressing :'( I know everyone's hair is different, I just wanted to do everything I could to help make it less gross!
I have tons of hairs, just like yours, but they are straight and flat. I basically have hairs growing in different directions rigth on my hairline (how do you call it in english?), and I can't cut bangs because it would be messy and all over the place I have long pieces that frame my face but they always look sloppy because my hair is so flat :( Last time i tried to grow them they were waistlength but they were so awful and flat, I always surrender and cut layers but then I regret it :(
Phoenix Evans I have tried. My problem? I can't get it even. It's one of those styles that requires you to stand behind someone - and since I can't stand behind myself, it's a no go for me.
Hey just so you know La Dolly Vita has done the battle hairstyle and she does have shorter hair. here's here tutorial give it a shot. And good luck! watch?v=jwe1mZUnQ7Y
Give it a try and see - I didn't consider it because trying to create shapes was easier with pinning as I went. I've never tried sewing down my hair as I went and tried to make shapes. Let me know how it works out for you?
*cries* Why? Why did I have to do that idiotic mistake that left three inches being cut off my hair????? *sobs* It isn't fair! Heather creates a lust worthy style when I have armpit length hair again and not my uber Katniss hair. *sniff* By the way, I am blanking on some Katniss Arena nails. Got any ideas? She goes into the arena with the nails from her interview from Caesar, right? (blank moment) I've been working on Mr. Mock N. Jay too long. All the clay is going to my brain. I swear.

No matter what you do with it, your hair always looks magnificent.
I don't have nearly enough hair to attempt this style, but I loved the look of that first rope braid you did with the english braid mixed in. I'm going to see what I can do with that.

Oh my gosh this is the best braided hairstyle I've ever seen... :O
They are hand carved leaves on a bit of twine. When I got my new Poe hairfork from Keoma, it was wrapped up in paper and tied with the twine and two of her hand carved leaves. I figured, hey! Choker!
Yes!!! That's what I'm talking about! Playing with aspects of whichever style. I love it when you all come up with your own things.
you r such an artist. maybe i wear such knot at the next family holiday. whats that jewelery ting U r waering that looks nice!
You are awesome! Just that very first braids combo you did is beautiful!! I might not have enough hair that's all the same length but my sis is gonna totally be my guiney pig! Woot woot!! Thank you! 3

Oh, and I love your shirt/dress. So fancy! We must get you a crown, STAT!
Then please feel free to be blocked from responding to my videos. I realize I am not for everyone, but common courtesy and manners dictate that when you aren't digging something, you simply move on. So thanks for he input, but you are not my kind of people. Next!
I love it! I will try this but it will be way more sedate on me as I do not have our glorious hair. Yes, you should have a crown.
I totally have flyaways -just like everyone else. The camera just didn't pick them u -but trust me -they're there.
I just take care of the ends as best I can and try not to torture it too much. It takes awhile, but it grows eventually. From chin to waist was pretty quick - after that the ends seem to get damaged more easily and I have to trim more to keep it nice, so it takes a little longer.

You have so much patience! The final result was awesome, as each one of the braids.
Greetings from Chile :)
I'm debating it. It's just perimeter braids with additional accent braids added in, but my perimeter braiding is shaky at best. I may still attempt it at some point.
I do, but it's from long ago, back when I was in pageants.
I need to braid my friend's hair right this second!!!!!
Wow, that's sooooo beautiful and intricate! You're so talented!
Braid-a-paloozas is now my favorite word. :)
This is awesome Thank you for taking the time to do this. You are lovely and your hair is amazing!
I maintain at around 46 inches or so -sometimes a little less. :o) And you are SO right, short hair is a total pain in the butt. Happy growing!
I seriously contemplated that -but laziness won out and I just ended up tucking them away.
You are NOT annoying, but trolls are. YOU are gorgeous, your hair is luxuriously beautiful and I loved this video!
hehe oh you remind me so much of my French teacher :P you just have that awesome personality of yours and I absolutely love your videos ^_^ I will definitely try this on my hair. thanks for you awesome videos ;)
I watch all your vids, but don't always comment. Just wanted to say you look incredibly beautiful today! Thanks for everything :)
I'm so glad I found this video, I was looking for this kind of look for an upcoming school dance, And this worked well with the undercut(the nape of my hair to the level of my ears is all shaved off) that I have on my hair. Wow you did an amazing job its absolutely stunning, wish I had the patience to try it!
All those braids...wow.
Reminds me of the etsy store of Tressa the Hairdressa. Lots of braid headbands in styles I've never seen before. Maybe you could show us how to do some of them?
REALLY impressive! Love it!
*insert super thudpile* Braidapalooza is an understatement!
I do have a general hair care video -and I answer questions about my hair in a few different Q&A vids. Short answer though? I switch it up between Pantene, Aussie stuff, and Nexxus Humectress conditioner -I also clarify with Suave clarifying shampoo once a month.
Thank you, Aleesha! You have made my week. You, my darling, are awesome and I appreciate you!
Do you plan to do any of the other braided hairstyles from the Snow White and the Huntsman movie? Such as the ones of the ladies in the villiage?
Pageants? Please tell us more!
FLAMIN' NORAH!! AWESOME!!!!

Can you please do Ravenna's wedding hair?!?!?!
every time you amaze me! I had a question about growing out my hair. I have very thick hair and I find that it's just to big (I have hair up to my lower chest) does it ever get heavy enough to just flatten out or does it just get worse? Do you think layers make it worse or better?

increíble, excelente trabajo! :)
you have the hair to wear this hairstyle naturally. I'm pretty sure that Charlize Theron needed extensions, wig or something like that for the movie.
gorgeous as usual! :)
Fabulous!
omg you're so cute and talented i adore yoU!

Okay! Thank you anyway!!!
Omg! That is too cute!!
Love it like always
Please tell me you have a tiara?
amazing! brava!
You look wonderfull in this video :)
Aw, you are deserving and quite welcome!
His long does it take for your hair to dry, without assistance?
Awww, thank you!
Hahaha. From time to time, yes I am. :o)
Four or five hours if it's just left down to air dry.
not all of us wear crowns... me: pfft, yeah... thats what you think...*adjusts crown* :D
OOh I am extremly extremly extremly extrmly sorry about that I meant to do it to someone else not to you
Hey just so you know La Dolly Vita has done the battle hairstyle and she does have shorter hair. here's here tutorial give it a shot. And good luck!

In MY life* Apparently my fingers are feeling Irish today.
Wow ur amazing
Thanks! :)
wow !
Would it be possible to tape part of this hairstyle so that you don't have to pin so much?
Give it a try and see - I didn't consider it because trying to create shapes was easier with pinning as I went. I've never tried sewing down my hair as I went and tried to make shapes. Let me know how it works out for you?

Charlize Theron "Ravenna" Hairstyle Beauty Treatment Milk Bath.
You look more attractive and beautiful with bared arms!!
love you.
"20-30 pins in there" . . . definately not a style to wear to fly to New York.
