There is an interesting history to this stadium. Chavez Ravine, where Dodger stadium sits, was an Hispanic community. Under eminent domain the residents were forced out for public housing. The housing was never built there. The City of Los Angeles made a deal with the Dodgers, and a stadium was built.
its what L.A. does best. pretend to take away from the haves (the original residents of chavez ravine) for the have-nots. until a corrupt deal for more $$$ rears its head.
The Dodgers are actually named after many of the people of Brooklyn. Way back in the day, the pedestrians scurrying around a busy Brooklyn New York had to dodge the congestion of traffic, and they called them "Dodgers". Thus the name Brooklyn Dodgers. True story.
They are named for the kids playing stick ball or baseball on the street and once the trolley was coming they would scurry aside and dodge it, then get back in the game. That went on all day. Real true story.
Great video. Nice stadium that's respected by true baseball fans. I'm a Diamondbacks fan but can appreciate this stadium for what it is. Lots of history there. Thanks for the video, Adam!
Excelent video it brings alot of memories.. my sister in Law and my bro took me there for my birthday.. we had soo much fun.. my sister in law is no longer with us.. she passed away last year.. thank you for sharing your tour at Dodger stadium..
Beautiful Dodger Stadium!!!!! Long time fan since 1975!!! I miss the traditional Organ in between in innings and During the game!!!! Bring back the Organ!!!!!!!
i used to go to the games with a small transistor radio and listen to Vin's commentary and the immortal pregame intro....It's time for Dodger baseball, sponsored by Farmer John. Good times man. LET'S GO DODGERS!
Love these older videos I've never seen... they are so much more focused, just straight forward and down to the nitty gritty. Crazy to watch this and not hear anything about the Rays yet😊
When I graduated high school in 2000, I was lucky enough to travel the country over the next 3 years and see a baseball and football game in every single NFL and MLB stadium. I have continued to keep up with this trend since when a new stadium opens. In my opinion, the best stadium in all of baseball is AT&T Park (San Francisco). There isn't a seat in the stadium that doesn't have a fantastic view from it. As far as fans go, hands down, without question, the nicest fans in sports at Green Bay Packer fans.
I love Baseball Stadiums too! Grew up going to games at Detroit's Tiger Stadium, saw the Expos play at Jarry Park in 1976, Giants at Candlestick - it was windy and cold, Mets at Shea, Angels in Anaheim and the Japanese Swallows at Jingu, Ham Fighters at Tokyo Dome and The old Nankai Hawks at stadium in Osaka. Memories!
I had a rough day working a job like you used to work. Coming home to this video immediately lifted my spirits and quelled my bummed out mood. Thanks man.
My Grandfather was a hardcore Brooklyn Dodger fan. He was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and lived through that era in baseball. He never got over them moving to LA.
Check another one off! The stadium is not abandoned and the faucets work! When I went to pharmacy school, I could easily see the lights of Dodger Stadium. The street there, Zonal Ave., runs along a line that points to the stadium nearby.
Here in AZ we have a similar tour at the Diamondbacks stadium. This was cool however, because this stadium is much older and has so much history. Yay for baseball season!
Awesome Adam!! I'm a Texas Rangers fan but as a huge baseball fan thanks for this video! Keep up the great work bro!! Will always be a huge fan of yours
Went to my first MLB game at Dodger Stadium in September of 1962. Saw them play the Saint Louis Cardinals. Hard to believe that Dodger Stadium is now 59 years old !
Incredible video. Jay must have been in heaven. I'm a Giants fan but I can appreciate the history of the Dodgers and their stadium. Can't believe you didn't drop at least one Naked Gun reference. Leslie Nielsen as the umpire was one of the funniest moments in movie history. Thanks again Adam.
Adam....................I'm so glad to have stumbled upon you when searching "behind the scenes" of Disney years back. You had me at shunkkkk-Kaa-kaaaa. Proud to be your follower. Keep up the excellent vlogging my dear!!
Arizona Diamondbacks take you on a personal tour but you have to listen to a season ticket spiel...... And LA has SO MANY PLACES to explore so this should be fun for all of us Wooites who are living vicariously through you.
Me too Woo.....HUGE Baseball fan!! great stuff...I believe Dodger Stadium is now the 3rd oldest ballpark left....behind Fenway and Wrigley. Sad really....Ebbets....Shibe ...polo grounds....all long gone......
Nice video Adam, you inspire so many urban explorers to make videos on RUclips. P.s I make lost and abandoned videos because I started watching you a few years ago.
I loved your humor in this one. Sometimes you can be as spontaneous as Robin Williams or Howie Mandel. I got a good laugh today because of you, keep it up.
I’ve had hot dogs at the Phoenix Stadium(Cardinals), San Diego at “The Murph”(RIP), Angels Stadium, Dignity Health Stadium, the Rose Bowl, LA and SD Sports Arenas, and The L.A. Coliseum. Of those, NOBODY even comes close to a Dodger Dog. Grilled with brown mustard, onions and relish: absolute heaven.
When they built dodger stadium they should have made it face downtown LA so you can see the skyline not the woods I'm from Pittsburgh we got pnc park best stadium and view in baseball ........go pirates.......great video Adam thanks for sharing. ...
Great job on this Adam. Weird I was just thinking about how I went to my first of many games at this ballpark in 1974, the year you were born, it would've been around July/August. When you opened the video walking through the parking lot, it reminded me of a film Elvis did there called "Spinout" in 1966, the year I was born. Kinda cool.
cool video adam. Here in the uk baseball isnt very popular but I really enjoyed watching this glimpse into this stadium. I hope you do more adventures like this.
Great video.am heading there tomorrow to L.A. on holiday from Glasgow,Scotland(home of the Glasgow Rangers Football Club)...not been to a baseball stadium before but this looks awesome..cheers!!!!!!
I was born, raised and still live in Brooklyn in 1979..... Dodgers are still a sore topic 'round here for some old timers. But O'Malley tried all that he could. Damned Robert Moses.
Great tour, and peek inside! Not to show my age or anything, but I remember when the word Dodgers was preceded by Brooklyn. As a young brat, I was horrified when they moved to LA. Like... How dare they?
Even though I'm not into sports (with the exception of Golf) I've always enjoyed stadiums for some reason. This might tie into my love for retail and buildings I guess.

Ah government. People continue voting for more of it.

The Dodgers are actually named after many of the people of Brooklyn. Way back in the day, the pedestrians scurrying around a busy Brooklyn New York had to dodge the congestion of traffic, and they called them "Dodgers". Thus the name Brooklyn Dodgers. True story.
its in the video

Yes, I know that. Dodger fan since 1967.

My 83 year old mom that just came back from Angels camp in AZ is enjoying this vlog very much. Love baseball!
Great video. Nice stadium that's respected by true baseball fans. I'm a Diamondbacks fan but can appreciate this stadium for what it is. Lots of history there. Thanks for the video, Adam!

2020 World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers. It’s Time for Dodger Baseball.
The history of that stadium, its location, and how it was built is fascinating.

My guess abt the holes, and I'm a pretty good guesser, is that they did a retrofit at some point for handi-capable seating.
Baseball is the best sport ever thanks for the video.
I had a rough day working a job like you used to work. Coming home to this video immediately lifted my spirits and quelled my bummed out mood. Thanks man.
@Anthony Cavitt Yes to only the first part. lol

Adam, there used to be a last row of seats in those sealed bracket holes. The top deck seats were red back then.
I love it when you do these Arnold Schwarzenegger imitations. Greetings from the Netherlands
cool video adam. Here in the uk baseball isnt very popular but I really enjoyed watching this glimpse into this stadium. I hope you do more adventures like this.

Beautiful stadium, great place to see a game, I saw a 1974 WS game against the A'S, have a dodger dog or 2!
I was there for a Giants game in 75.
Even though I'm not into sports (with the exception of Golf) I've always enjoyed stadiums for some reason. This might tie into my love for retail and buildings I guess.
