I get that United are looking to loan players they sign… but the truth of the matter is the new dude is probably much better than what we got… the likes of Maguire, Scotty, Lindeloff are not good enough..

@@ixoh7754 - We won't have the next MBappe because ETH can't manage SUPER STAR PLAYERS. Our biggest stars all had friction with him. He is the type of manager that does well with Players that aren't big name players but once they do get too big, HE WILL HAVE ISSUES WITH THEM.
A Manager that cannot manage SUPER STARS, Cannot be the BEST in EUROPE or the WORLD. You have to have SUPER STARS in your club to be the BEST CLUB IN THE WORLD. And ETH CANNOT DO THAT! Remember Sancho and Ronaldo vs ETH.
We are changing everything at the club from the TOP DOWN, So WHY ON EARTH Keep the Manager? He CANNOT GET ABOVE 85 POINTS to win the League and will NEVER GO FURTHER THAN UCL Semi-Finals.

The weird thing is this isn't a new concept, this was what Sir Alex was doing for years. Bring in numerous young players each year, mold them into what you want, and supplement the squad with one maybe two ready made stars who slide into the starting 11.

This strategy plays to the strength of ETH. He develops player and identity when they are really ready. Ajax is the perfect example, where he didn’t have world class players but turned prospects into world class players and got to the semis of champions league. Even at United Hojlund, Garnacho and Mainioo are being handled to almost perfection. If we can grab a couple of those player and be grown by ETH the way he wants and add to this core. Boom we have a amazing squad

This is exactly how it should be man. Identifying top young prospects & bringing them in & developing them. It's what we do best what we're known for. Aaron Anselmino only 18 sign him then loan him to Nice for a season or two & Camarda from AC Milan we can't sign as he's only 16 due to Brexit unless we agree to keep him at Milan till he turns 18 or we loan him to another European club but these are exactly the kinda players we should be signing. No more pissing money up the wall on big names on extortionate wages.

We did with SAF and Royal Antwerp.. back then they were called Feeder clubs. With FFP and PSL the sensible way is to get them young and relatively cheaper and blood them in. The critical issue though is this works when the team has a stable foundation of core players that the younger generation can learn from and take over from Man Utd hasn't been built like that the gap between the older guys and younger fellas is soo big

I think the thing nowadays is that success in football is about spending BIG.
Because every winning team is splashing the cash no matter what, either in wages, transfer fees or bonuses.
Real Madrid spent 45 million euros in Vini Jr in 2017 market. Adjusted to inflation it is 72 million in Endrick in 2024.
We also gotta take into account the amount of money payed in wages for any of these players.
How much is Madrid paying Rudiger and Alaba in wages+bonuses, players who came in with no transfer fees?
United just need to make great scouting and negotiations hiring great players for fair prices.
What we have been doing is just paying tons of money in fees, wages and bonuses not looking at what we were buying. It is as if by paying a lot we expected the player to be great.
United just needs proper football knowledge and everything just fall into place

Another way to do this would be to combine youth academies. A multi-club structure is not a necessity. There are many examples of clubs that have combined youth academies, usually a lower division club with a higher division club but each will have their own ownership and management.
An example in the Netherlands is Feyenoord and Excelsior. Another one would be FC Twente and Heracles Almelo. Not sure about the exact details on how the partnership works but it's an option.

I wouldn't call it a feeder club...it's just a shared youth academy...separate scouting departements still....so if you don't scout the player they are technically still destined for the other club, meaning...if he turns out to be a massive talent you still have to pay a transfer fee. Naturally you won't get the ridiculous transfer fees you otherwise might, but it's also not a case of ohh we like you guys so you can take him of our hands for 1 million pounds....but again I'm not entirely sure how it is all structured and if British FA regulations prohibit these kind of partnerships regardless....worth looking into I think anyway

Sounds good until you hear we're hell bent on signing Olise, when we've got wide options that we either can't or won't sell to accommodate him??? Proof is in the pudding, and where are Berrarda and Ashworth to implement these changes, if they're likely???

Given that they're in charge of sporting decisions, we should at least expect a sporting director by now. It's not like Ashworth is the only one. First and foremost, they should have killed all that bullshit rumors & news regarding southgate and made a statement.

We're looking to sign players in the wrong places, whereas we have genuine hardcore prolific Mancunian players such as Mason Greenwood. A natural born striker and a son of the soil. Rather than rejecting the phenomenal talent we have, we ought to cherish such talent and give the opportunity for the young man to flourish in his home place. No one is perfect. People evolve. Love conquers all and forgiveness breeds the chance for a brilliant Mason Greenwood to give his best for the club he loves.

    • @Njpro
      @Njpro 2 месяца назад +1

I agree that people should have an opportunity for forgiveness. However, people are not willing to let the aura of such a bad thing to cloud United.
The average football fan doesn't forgive or forget. As hard as it may be to accept, I think Greenwood will be sold. It may just be the best for all parties involved for him to start fresh out of the spotlight of the premier league.

Sam, how can you possibly assess strategic recruitment, without mentioning the strategy and strategic objective!!!
You are a nice guy Sam, but level MU before Ratcliff.
So tell me first why it's essential to sign star players instead of building an effective team/squad without star players? Bet you dont have a clue!
