My husband developed shingles on his chest and side about three years ago when he was 57 years old, and we are Whole Food vegans living a healthy lifestyle, but he was under a tremendous amount of stress I think that caused the outbreak. Fortunately for him I had some Valtrex on hand, because I unfortunately have HSV-2, so I got him started on it immediately.
It was pretty miserable for him for about 2 to 3 weeks, but then it passed and he has had no lingering symptoms. He did however decide to get the shingles vaccine anyway after the fact.
I’ve seen in the advert for the shingles vaccine that it has an increased risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome occurring.
I do not plan on getting a shingles vaccine, I just feel that every vaccine is poking the beast of your immune system and if it goes bad it can be very very bad, and since women are more often diagnosed with autoimmune disorders to me it seems prudent to only take vaccines when really necessary, it’s just my personal risk benefit analysis. I did get the COVID-19 vaccines and booster because it was a matter of public health not just my personal health.

Even though I decided against receiving the COVID vaccine, because my conscious wouldn't let me, I am going to get the Shingrex vaccine, because I have seen what Shingles has done to family members, including my mother when she was in her mid 60s, and I do not want it.

I share your sentiments as well. My conscience and research led me to opt out of the same vaccine as you. In addition, I was only 3 months out from getting my life back from having been bedridden for 9 years as a result of a CDC and FDA approved medical device inside my body. Thankfully, that was effectively removed. I had JUST gotten my life back. No way could I participate in a trial with so many hidden horrible debilitating side effects. I’m just so grateful I opted out of that and that this information is finally less squelched. I pray for all my family, friends and loved ones who have that in their bodies. As sick as I was for 9 years, for me, I would prefer death over lifelong irreversible side effects from the risks that one presents. Plus, I had the C-bug at least 3 times now. I’ve had head colds far worse than that for me. Thankfully, I’m not a high risk individual, plus, there are very safe and effective treatment protocols available. My heart goes out to the many who died and so sad that for most it was the treatment protocols that killed them than the bug itself.
And like you, I’ve seen what the shingles has done to family members. It’s horrible. To my knowledge, this is more of a mainstream tried, tested and true vaccine. Because of so much push, divisiveness and silencing of scientists and medical professionals of the C-one, I’m definitely doing my research first, even with this one.

I am having a terrible allergic reaction to the 2nd Shingrix shot, it’s been 3 days with migraines, body aches, chills, lethargic, my arm is swollen, it’s throbbing with heat and I have a huge red circle, it’s hard to the touch. I feel very weak, Never again! I read that it lasts up to 7 years but I will take Lysine pills daily to prevent another shingle outbreak. Please do your research , my mother in law got shingles and she had been vaccinated, so the vaccine is NOT a guarantee you will not get sick!

I’m here doing research to help explore the pros, cons, options, etc. Like he said, 3 days of this is better than months or years with the shingles as his dad had a year long run of the shingles. It was horrible. However, I’m curious if there are other options, natural preventions, etc.

After being WFPB for 4 years now and loving it, and after doing much research on the topic, I have a question that I can't find an answer to. If vinegar is a very good house cleaner, and it destroys bacteria, why then does it not destroy the bacteria in our gut? Or does it?

A few hours later I developed a little soreness at the injection site (right arm), and a few hours after that my entire right arm was a little sore. The next day I felt a little out of it and tired. Shingles, monkeypox, etc...while the vaccine side effects are low, some can be more serious...you don't know its longer term effects and if there are some severe cases. My friend's mom had the covid vaccine and then got a rare serious condition (guillan barre) shortly after. Anyways, I'm more vaccine neutral, got the covid vaccines, but will have to do more research on this one.
