    funny that I love Nikon cameras as of late. I bought both Z-fc and Zf for my own use and agree with many things, especially Zf, which is more or less Z6 III minus the EVF. AF is really one of the best on the market that I've tried over the past few years.

    I used a manual focus Nikon F3 film camera back in the 1990s and early 2000s. My nephew uses that camera now. I choose the original Olympus E-M5 back in 2013 after one year with the Nikon 1 system. If Nikon had launched the Z-mount back in 2013 with similar type of IBIS as Olympus, I might have chosen that system. I guess most of armature photographers consider the cost of all the lenses in addition to the cost of the camera and it becomes much more expensive to jump to another system. Overall, I am pleased with the OM-1 and a mixture of Olympus and Panasonic lenses for my use. However, it might be difficult to attract new customers to Micro4/3s when the cost of a full frame very capable Nikon camera is similar to the OM-1 Mk.ii.

    One thing I really like on some of the Nikon bodies like the Z6 III is the screen on the top of the body. I can quickly glance at the top and see what some of my settings are before I bring it to my eye. For me, it's not a make it or break it feature, but it makes it more fun for me. I also like the way the Z6 III and Z6 II vertical grips handle the batteries. You don't need to take off the handgrip to get to the battery in the camera body. Both batteries are in the handgrip E-M1X style. It makes it more convenient when I need to swap batteries

    Hi Robin :) I am 72yo. and I have been shooting Nikon (and other brands a little) since My Nikon F in 1967 (still have it) I came to mirrorless late with a Z5, then in mid 2023 a Z6II.. The cameras were in all aspects (except the AF in Canon n Sony),,, great cameras,,, Z9 came with the great AF but most of us could not afford the price or weight...... I have had the opportunity to shoot the Z8 a lot and it is Great (but no camera is perfect) ..... But when the Z6III came I knew I had to try it,,, and I went into debt to buy it (could return it),, BUT after using it I can not let it go.... It is about as Great as it could be :) :) :)

    I own two of these cameras. Buffer is wonderful and finally got the Dummy Batteries for both cameras. It will overheat when I am streaming on a Live Show. I just turn it off and it cools down quickly. I like the Heif files better than Jpeg and there is a crop to them but the images are great. The RAW are fantastic. 24.5mp and you can still crop. I made two mistakes with these cameras. Setting to 20 per second and silent shutter (No Sound). Lot of files. I didn't see any bad ones and they were all sharp. But I did try to pan with a White Tail Dove and 2 out of 6 were not sharp but the subject and I were moving. Also I usually am Zoomed out and then when the subject is in view I zoom in. Guess what I forgot to do in my excitement. Great Camera and I love doing 6K 60 H265 10 Bit to the SD card for video. Why do I do this? It works! Cheers!

    Nice camera! just looking at video reviews from people I trust like you, Robin, it seems that Nikon have released a series of excellent cameras with great "colour science" sensors, lenses and stabilisation technologies over the past couple of years. Great to see them ""back on track."
    Although I'll be using a Canon 6D for the foreseeable future, I've always had a soft spot for Nikon.
    This is because my film SLR which my Dad kindly bought for me in my teens was a 1975 Nikkormat FT2 with a Nikkor 50mm f/2 lens. I loved that camera, and was upset when it finally jammed beyond repair a couple of years ago after over 40 years (!) of moderate use. The 50mm lens is still operating perfectly, and I've purchased an adaptor for use with my 6D...

    I am racking my brain here. I don’t shoot video and I feel I just bought the z6iii wasting my money and should have kept my and maybe have kept my OM-1 with the 40-150, 12-40.
    I now have the NIKKOR 180-600, 24-120, and the 105. I just felt I was missing something with my Micro4/3. All of my pictures seemed soft when comparing to FF pictures. I guess I pixel peeped too much (which I guess was a habit I picked up from watching too many RUclips videos. But really, shouldn’t the m4/3’s pictures be just as sharp and crisp as FF?
    I do shoot wildlife, I shoot landscape, and I do shoot macro.
    so I’m your honest opinion, should I trade my z6iii back to the OM-1?
    Or just keep the Z6iii and get used to it?
    I’m no professional, but I do love to print and I do love to post my pictures.

    Thanks so much for this video since you are looking at this camera from the same performance/stage shooting perspective that I work in. I too am very interested in this camera. I wish you had a chance to use this in one of your performance shoots because I'd like to know about its rolling-shutter behavior in stills. In my nightclub work, with rapidly moving performers and spinning dancers, I often get facial distortions (a bit more off-putting than body/limb warping) that I can only attribute to rolling shutter (using electronic shutter from between 1/120-1/200 sec). This is with every body I have tried (A6700, A7CII, OM-1Mk1, G9M2). I don't have the $$ for an A9-III (who does?) and I'm interested in seeing how the Z6-III does in comparison to my other cameras.

  • @anthony-qm3pn
    @anthony-qm3pn 4 месяца назад +1

    There are some complaints that dynamic range with the Z6III is not quite as good as the first generation and second generation Z6 cameras, seems like faster read out speeds improve auto focus and smooth out operation camera overall at the expense of dynamic range and image quality, seems like this is a problem overall with stacked sensor cameras, maybe these types of sensors need more powerful image processors that are not available right now, I do not know I’m not an engineer, just something I have noticed overall with all the cameras from all the camera manufactures with the same complaint.

    Hey there, i just traded my Zf in for the Z6iii for the better ergonomics. But… though i am not a big video guy, i just need an all a rounder camera for wildlife (flying, running, and stills) and for mostly landscape. I am not a professional, but i like good quality images so i can print and post on social media. Will this Z6iii (even though so many people say DR is bad) would it be good for a wildlife, nature, landscape camera? I don’t have a big budget, just want a camera that is great for what i do.
    I think most of my photos have more landscapes than anything else, so knowing the tracking is good, for that rarity bird in flight will be great.

    • @williambuford6136
      @williambuford6136 4 месяца назад +1

      The ZF had better DR, but if you are shooting landscapes you have many different ways to get that DR back. That DR trade off gives you a camera with improved autofocus and video features. Hey the D700 was a great camera and the Z6iii has better DR. Also once you are at 800 ISO the Z63 is about the same DR as other current generations cameras.
