He uses those of us who are broken, lost, messed up several times and the ones who attempt to do good but stumble. We are only human and that means that we are still learning to walk after crawling for so long. Sometimes our legs get wobbly and we stumble, but as long as we get back up and try again that shows the commitment in our hearts.

There’s a lot hurt and broken people in the world. So beaten down by the pain in front of them, so entrenched in the mistakes behind them, that they don’t even know where to begin, or how to start that slow climb back towards the light... and sadly most of those pointing the way to Jesus just say, “Stop Serving Sin... Duh.” And we wonder why the world is lost. I find no pleasure in preaching, no pride in standing high above the world and pretending I’m good. Most days I just feel like the chief of all sinners. But to tell my own story, to confess my deepest sins in song, to express my regrets and come alongside them who are in need of Christ and say, “I’m right here with you, I understand. I’m broken and bruised just like you. Walk with me and let’s learn how to stop serving sin together.” In this, I find the greatest joy, the most immeasurable peace, the deepest purpose.
