Films about soldiers where done and dusted even before the current bollywood trend in 90s and early 2000s in tamil...that genre needed some re invention before it could be sold again (a story arc that is almost the same for all soldier movies and BIOPICS in general) and also generation of audience has changed (with young gen not having seen that side of tamil cinema)...both these worked for Amaran

You proved again tamils can't appreciate their own without demeaning another. Twood and kwood mostly known for masala films only. Both make good films but not many. Our MAJOR movie was like this where a keralite's story is picked and made by telugu crew. We aren't bound by geographical & language barriers. We appreciate and support every industry unlike the jingoistic Tamils. So keep the pride to yourself & let us keep the nation first than language/state first.
Jai bhim is twisted by dravidian/Christian ideology where a Christian is replaced with some dominant caste to not to show xtians in bad light. Vijay danced recently with meenakshi & even other actors do it. How old was rajnikanth when he romanced aishwarya in robo. So stop lecturing others like you're saints.

@@maruthupandianm184To be honest, it is the opposite. They have story and a lot of songs and plot irrelevant things to ruin the story. And most big starer movies are made not to tell story but to present a fan service about the senior actor and they will literally cast a person who is old and looks old for a young character. The fun part is the female lead always has to be younger and whiter.

Tamil people may not enjoy biopics, but Tamil Nadu has the largest number of freedom fighters and soldiers in India! Islamic kings ruled all parts of India except Tamil Nadu. But they could not set foot in Tamil Nadu! That is why many cultural temples and culture are still flourishing and growing in Tamil Nadu. So do not underestimate their bravery.

All the performers in the movie were incredibly outstanding in their roles and special mention to the heart of amaran sai pallavi she indeed is what a incredible performance and we all can agree that no one in the indian film industry could have pulled out her brilliancy in this performance. I just thought of one thing that Major Mukund would definitely be immensely happy and proud while watching this from heaven.

The movie is awsome. The only issue with this kind of movies is the production design, I come from an army backround and my god the costumes and the uniforms looks bad, sometimes i think do they even do a little bit of research. The only army centric movie which got everything right was URI.

    • @SugoiNobita

May be the costume design is an artistic decision. They don't have to replicate the real one, you know.

    • @Praveen-cj2iz
      @Praveen-cj2iz 2 месяца назад

@SugoiNobita when you are making a movie based on army officer, you can't take artistic freedom and show people some random uniform just because they don't know. The uniforms are fixed, they barely change. The badges each officer wears, the number of stars on their shoulder. Each has its own significance. So they must respect that and show the uniforms and costumes as close to reality as possible !!

Imagine if he was actually a Muslim and they showed him as a Brahmin. The movie wouldn’t have seen the light of day.

For TN audience to understand, think of tamilians were portrayed in Chennai Express or any of the bollywood movies before 2000. Amaran was more painful to watch because it wasn't even comedy and it truly breaks my heart seeing all the applauses for her in this comment section.

Salute to the director for a nice portrayal of 44RR Sacrifices.
But why is a 'Brahmin' Mukund's identity to be changed, while his wife's faith is hailed.
He did BCom in 'Kanchi Mutt's'
Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Vishwa Vidyalaya (SCSVMW), while his Diploma in MCC is elaborated..
Many instances preceeds like Deccan GR.Gopinath 'lyengar' became Maaran in 'Soorarai Potru' in the Secular Media.. which will not do justice to a true Biopic.
Anyway such pioneer's achievements & heights cannot be shadowed by such intentional depictions.!

Can you even see how cheap you people are? And from where did you get the idea that her religion was hailed? Your hearts are filled with so much hate people, so sick. He's a human, an Indian and a tamilian that's what a fellow human cares. There are thousands of Christians and Muslims in army too. They together are fighting for our country. But people like you are fighting over caste?? You think you are superior? No in our eyes, you are low for bringing caste and religious politics into a beautiful movie made on someone's life.

Because most Tamilians are brainwashed into believing that all Brahmins are evil, Cholas are not Hindus, etc, etc, So any portrayal of a Brahmin as a good human being is believed to be frowned upon. Though I feel the common people would not mind much, but the political dispensation ruling the state would. Similar to Pakistani and present day Bangladeshi mindset who deny their history, are easily brainwashed, who change their ancestors lineage artificially to suite their narrative.

As a malayali, Sai Pallavi's malayalam accent was the only thing that made me think this is a movie. It felt really cringe and took out the emotions in most of the scene except the climax which she doesn't talk much.

Have you watched all Tamil movies as you startup with such tagging on tamil cinema in intro... Go watch. We have versatile styles of movies. This shows that you have watched only commercial movies. We experiment different plots either in story or making, technically far advanced... Compare Tamil cinema and other language cinemas from far back or atleast from 90s... You'll know

Personally I felt that movie was a dishonest, shallow and corny attempt, riding on the nostalgia element. I have a very similar opinion of that director's earlier movie 96, as well.

No one thinks Tamil is mass commercial movie or sticks to any particular genres ...Everyone speaks abt Malayalam this year last year Kannada and Telugu ...but in Tamil all kind of genres are coming a large mix of drama, thriller, comedy, crime, action etc ...Tamil has all kind of genres this year Thangalaan is magical realism worked well when it comes to South only Tamil can pull all kind kind of genres ...Malayalam can never pull off a proper commercial mass movie, Telugu can never pull off a drama movie like Meiyazhagan , vaazhai, Kannada can never think about movies like naduvula konjam pakkatha kanom, pariyerum perumal ....so when it comes to South Tamils are the best ❤

Are you brave enough to answer this question?
The depiction of Late Major Mukund Varadarajan in the movie raises questions. Why wasn't his Brahmin background shown? And why does he call his father "Naina"?
    Possible reasons:
    1. Creative liberties
    2. Avoiding sectarian representation
    3. Focus on patriotism over caste
But here's the truth: every community celebrates their heroes, whether Sikhs, Muslims, Christians or others. Denying authentic representation to Brahmin heroes like Major Mukund Varadarajan is shameful.
    Let's discuss:
    1. Representation matters
    2. Authenticity enhances storytelling
    3. Inclusive narratives unite us
    Speak your mind!

@priyap9358 you are right But why hide it. The film makers dont have to glorify Brahmi. Community. Just have to show a scene where he is talking to his dad in the way that can be identified. Every other cast, religion is shown right, in fact glorified.
