This show was never been this beautiful. Everything looks great af! The stage, the production... Also, the idea of showing a little of some portuguese cities on every's countries presentation is just genial. PORTUGAL IS THE BEST! We may be a small country, but we're full of talented people.

Awesome show Portugal!! This was a true bloodbath though, so it was obvious a lot of people were not going to be pleased no matter what the result would become. I'm personally happy with the results, and thought the whole show was superb. Spread the positivity!

People should stop complaining about the result. Eurovision is not only about the songs, it is also about the performances and the staging. For me, the songs from Belgium and Greece are very good but their performances were just not as good as the studio records. So sad that Belgium and Switzerland didn't make it to the final, they are always in my top 10 favorite, but I am happy that Albania, Ireland and Finland are qualified.

Greece is one of my favourites this year, but to be really honest her live performance desappointed me, I think she was not at their best tonight. Yanna, I wish you all the best and never give up to sing!
Really happy for Albania passing through ❤️ Eugent's voice was great , performance was simple yet kept you hooked. I loved the lyrics too. Hope we get a good placement in the finals this year. Whatever it is i'm proud of them 🤟

This was way tougher than any in 2019 or 2021 for sure The final Top 3 in the grand final were from this semi and only 3 of the other semi made it into the Top 10! Also only 1 of the bottom 10 in the final was from this semi Also some big robberies, but you can’t say any qualifiers were bad!
For the first time ever, Eurovision 2018 has two finals. The one on Saturday and this one, a true and utter afinal. Fantastic songs were left out unfortunately. Only 10 spots were available. Concerning the show, fuc**** well done Portugal! If this is the first semi... hold your horses for Saturday, m’dears. Lisbon 2018 is going to be memorable, for decades to come! Oh, last note, I’m from Lisbon ;)

I really enjoyed it. What an amazing show. I thought the stage so good and the hosts are good too, however, they were nervous. But they're going to improve it while they get used to it with the next galas.
At least my favourite passed (Estonia) Very happy with Albania and Lithuania. Very sad with Belgium, Greece and Switzerland and Armenia( voted for them, 2 times in Switzerland and 1 in the others). 6/10

As for me, my favorite's Albania - really good song, Switzerland - this women have a strong voice like Linda Perry... Why the jury did not notice this? Finland - very good performance, Estonia - very good vocals...I'm really sad, that Switzerland did not pass in the next round 😞
I was so shocked when Greece and Belgium didn't qualified. I really thought those two would end in the top 5. I was shocked Ireland did, not that I don't like the song, I just didn't expect it to qualify.
We can all agree that most of them are very good in this semi final and having 10 slots directly to the grand final is not enough. Congratulations to all qualifiers and to the non-qualifiers!!!

I didn't like Albania but I think Lithuania was the upset of the night. I think it could surprise a lot of people on Saturday and super happy Ireland got through.
Many people did not approve Albania, although Albania has had an exceptional performance. This is due to the fact that the music is dying in the world. Before, there was a great diversity of rhythms and genres that were successful. Now it is prevailing only the electronic beats and American hiphop. Albania played rock, so despite having performed very well many people prefer Greece or Belgium with the usual electronic beats. Macedonia also had a great song with a performance not worse than Austria ... But almost always the electronic wins. Sobral won last year for the unusual, perhaps for the emphafia of the competition that was a festival of electronic music, pyrotechnic circus and politically correct ballads.
I really liked Greek song and I probably heard million times and each time I had goosebumps! But for what I heard and saw last night I was truly disappointed! It sounded empty and performance was dull! Because I knew that Greece can do much better as I said I'm very disappointed! Cyprus was on fire. Amazing performance amazing vocal amazing energy! Right now it's my No.1

I 100% agree with "Best red (blue) cartpet ever", but 1st semifinal was the most boring and uninteresting ever (I do not mean songs, but everything about the show as a whole) - there was no opening act, no interval acts, almost no funny jokes (оnly green room host tried to save everyone from boredom) and the worst ever interval clip "Planet Portugal".
I think you need to be portuguese or at least know a few things about Portugal to understand "Planet Portugal" It was funny but only for a few. Defenitly there are some things to improve but its just the first semi final and the first ever Eurovision in Portugal. For me, 2016 in Sweden was amazing. I love it, but if you compare Sweden 2016 to Sweden 2013 its a big difference. 2013 was bad.
Don`t you think that using humor understandable only to the Portuguese in the video, addressed to all the rest is strange? In addition, I do not think that Portuguese humor is very different from any other, at least all the jokes were pretty clear, they were just not funny or too old and cliche. But I do not blame Portugal, I know that most scripts are written by authors from the EBU. As for 2013 - I do not agree, this is one of my favorite years and the organization was good.

I don’t agree on the hosts. They weren’t funny at all and it was really awkward a few times. The production wasn’t really good either. But let’s wait for the finale...
Very happy for Albania, they slayed the live performance! Ireland qualifying got me surprised, I mean I like the song, and Ryan's voice, but i thought there were some more deserving acts. Aaand Greece got knocked out as well... Just wow... Sadly the live version wasn't as mesmorizing as the studio version, but still was one of the most unique songs in Eurovision. I wanted FYR Macedonia, Switzerland to qualify, but I guess, this year is really stacked.
For anybody hating on Albania I just want to say that we still love you! Music is meant to connect people, no matter the language. So if you think that the song was boring because you don't understand the lyrics, I suggest you simply relax and enjoy the amazing vocals of Eugent. Frankly speaking some of the performances were great and some were good, but there was no bad performance. I liked the whole show. I was expecting more on Greece as the song was good but for some reason this performance just didn't click for me. I also would have liked for Switzerland to go through since the performance was simple, but the singer was very confident on stage and had a beautiful voice. Anyway good luck to all the countries on the next semi final.

I'm in shock, this song was the best for me this year. Deep spiritual song about the Greek people and Greece itself, it was amazing. I do not understand why they appreciate not the song, but the circus on the stage. For me, Greece was the winner this year. This will be the first final, which I will miss. I didn't like Albania but I think Lithuania was the upset of the night. I think it could surprise a lot of people on Saturday and super happy Ireland got through.

They were not on my list before the show but completely convinced me and I'm happy they got to the final
Many people did not approve Albania, although Albania has had an exceptional performance. This is due to the fact that the music is dying in the world. Before, there was a great diversity of rhythms and genres that were successful. Now it is prevailing only the electronic beats and American hiphop. Albania played rock, so despite having performed very well many people prefer Greece or Belgium with the usual electronic beats. Macedonia also had a great song with a performance not worse than Austria ... But almost always the electronic wins. Sobral won last year for the unusual, perhaps for the emphafia of the competition that was a festival of electronic music, pyrotechnic circus and politically correct ballads.

I really liked Greek song and I probably heard million times and each time I had goosebumps! But for what I heard and saw last night I was truly disappointed! It sounded empty and performance was dull! Because I knew that Greece can do much better as I said I'm very disappointed!

I 100% agree with "Best red (blue) cartpet ever", but 1st semifinal was the most boring and uninteresting ever (I do not mean songs, but everything about the show as a whole) - there was no opening act, no interval acts, almost no funny jokes (оnly green room host tried to save everyone from boredom) and the worst ever interval clip "Planet Portugal".
I think you need to be portuguese or at least know a few things about Portugal to understand "Planet Portugal" It was funny but only for a few. Defenitly there are some things to improve but its just the first semi final and the first ever Eurovision in Portugal. For me, 2016 in Sweden was amazing. I love it, but if you compare Sweden 2016 to Sweden 2013 its a big difference. 2013 was bad.
Don`t you think that using humor understandable only to the Portuguese in the video, addressed to all the rest is strange? In addition, I do not think that Portuguese humor is very different from any other, at least all the jokes were pretty clear, they were just not funny or too old and cliche. But I do not blame Portugal, I know that most scripts are written by authors from the EBU. As for 2013 - I do not agree, this is one of my favorite years and the organization was good.

I just rewatched the best semifinal ever and I remember how nerve-wrecking this was... so many good songs!
Very happy for Albania, they slayed the live performance! Ireland qualifying got me surprised, I mean I like the song, and Ryan's voice, but i thought there were some more deserving acts. Aaand Greece got knocked out as well... Just wow... Sadly the live version wasn't as mesmorizing as the studio version, but still was one of the most unique songs in Eurovision. I wanted FYR Macedonia, Switzerland to qualify, but I guess, this year is really stacked.

For anybody hating on Albania I just want to say that we still love you! Music is meant to connect people, no matter the language. So if you think that the song was boring because you don't understand the lyrics, I suggest you simply relax and enjoy the amazing vocals of Eugent. Frankly speaking some of the performances were great and some were good, but there was no bad performance. I liked the whole show. I was expecting more on Greece as the song was good but for some reason this performance just didn't click for me. I also would have liked for Switzerland to go through since the performance was simple, but the singer was very confident on stage and had a beautiful voice. Anyway good luck to all the countries on the next semi final.

I'm in shock, this song was the best for me this year. Deep spiritual song about the Greek people and Greece itself, it was amazing. I do not understand why they appreciate not the song, but the circus on the stage. For me, Greece was the winner this year. This will be the first final, which I will miss.
