I guess this is for pop collectors / casual collectors or something. It does seem silly and desperate though. His mainline is failing IMHO. We start the Spawn collection off with an amazing Violator. Then it just goes downhill. He basically wants to be a statue maker, again like he used to be. We're still waiting on proper top tier Batman villains yet he's drowning the line in low tier filler. Where's even a normal sized Bane, Swamp Thing etc. ? Easy money shots he's not taking but lets makes Red Hood and Nightwing for the 20th time then jokerize them.
I bought the Todd's Mods statues and they're okay for the price point. (No more than $15) The way I see it, he does a lot of Batman figures because they sell and then use a portion of the profits for new characters/molds/sculpts. There is A LOT of reuse which, when blatantly obvious, sucks, but is way more tolerable than his damned platinum line(s). I enjoy the line for now but we'll see what happens with the new platinum shenanigans he is supposed to be rolling out this year.
Completely agree with reuse. As long as it makes sense I’m ok with it. I don’t want 10 Batman’s that all look the same and only have a different color scheme. At least switch up accessories, hands, head sculpts etc etc.
A few days ago I realised that there is no proper Harley Quinn figure as you said but according to some leaks McFarlane is gonna make Poison Ivy, Black Canary, Zatanna and maybe Hawkgirl? I just hope that they look good and that they don't have no face expression like Starfire or bad hair like the recent Reverse Flash
Yes, I did mention it in the video. However, it is very outdated and it does appear to be closer to her animated first appearance rather than some of her most iconic comic book looks.
The only thing I liked and looked right was swamp thing. Of course I just got a lobo big set with two of the same hands. Luckily it came with a chain to cover it up.
It still grinds my gears that the multiverse line is 7in scale, it loses all utility for my collection for real like there is no domestic 6in Dc line and that sucks
I like McFarlane as much as the next person but at this point I feel like he's just monopolizing the DC line. You can tell he really just wants to make statues
An so he could selll spawn side by side Batman I love Todd tho he just ain’t been hitting the same lately I dropped out of the multiverse line :/ sold a lot of good figures but I was just done :/ at the point
Todd has a peculiar taste, I get what I like from the 7 inch releases, it can be DC Multiverse, Page Punchers or the digital line and that's it. From what he released in the last five years, I liked the Dark Detective from all Batman versions they released, when he released the first Batman Hush in the two pack with that weird expression I pretty much gave up, but he redeemed himself with the standard single release and the Knightfall Batman. I like the Rebirth Superman and the Hush Superman. It almost seems like he doesn't care, but it's probably what some people say of an attempt of keep people invested by not giving a definitive version of the characters.
The criticism is not keeping his hardcore, loyal fan base engaged. He’s losing a lot of them because they seem to prioritize expanding the consumer base rather than keeping the one they have already built.
I honestly thought they were going to be bigger when announced. But they don’t live up to the “hype”. Huge pass just like the kong double pack. Terrible work from Tod.
Man even the 2 packs are at Ross for 3.99 got the spawn ones but shortly resold them it’s hard with toy lines I mean full super 7 lines droppping at Ross for a 3rd the price is crazy it’s like why pay to high if it’s gonna be on such a discount later that’s my mind set unless it’s something I kno I can’t miss or just high demand t
But look at the absolute trash that Hasbro puts out under the Marvel Legends banner. Little or no paint apps, constantly reusing parts, terrible proportions and articulation but people still pretend that they’re good.
Its not aimed for anyone, statue collectors already have diamond select and plenty of other options, mcfarlene can barely do action figures and now hes trying to make statues instead of focusing on what works for him (action figures)
Todd McFarlane makes what he likes and shares it with you. He likes Batman and Superman. He doesn't do requests and he isn't concerned with popular opinions. One of the most popular sayings in business is "Sex sells." Instead of making a sexy female figure, Todd will give you a shirtless Batman. Whatever we want, he is constantly looking for ways to subvert our expectations. That's just what u have deal with if u collect any properties from him. You'll get what you want when Todd McFarlane wants it himself. When he wants Black Canary....
McFarlane DC Figures are 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩! Before McFarlane I built 6 entirely different DC Earth's! Since McFarlane took over I have bought exactly 6 DC Figures! My DC Earth's; Earth 1: Justice League, Main DC Earth 2: Justice Society Earth 3: Crime Syndicate v Young Justice Earth 6: Futuristic/Kingdom Come style Earth 23: Expanded Watchmen style Earth 35; Created Equal, All Female style
The "seems desperate" ship sailed with the NFT line.
what does this even mean
@@J1ngler he refers to when Mcfarlane shifted to having NFT's for their BAF's instead of just selling the damn BAF's with the actual figure

I totally agree with you.
You summarized my point perfectly. He should focus on his main line first before trying to expand with this nonsense..

I do like them but I wouldn’t pick them up. I don’t see the value in buying statues.
I don't hate these things but I also have no interest in buying them either. It honestly looks like something you'd find at Five Below.

We definitely need more female characters in the DC Multiverse line. Let’s hope we see more of them in 2025.
McFarlane has made a comic accurate Harley , there may have been one lol I own it

The quality control is out of control with McFarlane😢

He’s half-assing figures and some sculpts look shotty
I like McFarlane as much as the next person but at this point I feel like he's just monopolizing the DC line. You can tell he really just wants to make statues

if McFarlane makes more Batwoman figures, i'll buy em, idc if they're statues :3
Oh no a new pocket in your display for a figure you don’t have to buy, the horror 🙄 imagine that being a legitimate criticism that’s crazy
The criticism is not keeping his hardcore, loyal fan base engaged. He’s losing a lot of them because they seem to prioritize expanding the consumer base rather than keeping the one they have already built.
Comic Poison Ivy is coming and a silver age two face 👀🫣

Oh no, something that's clearly not aiming for me that I don't have to buy, the horror! They must be getting desperate!
Its not aimed for anyone, statue collectors already have diamond select and plenty of other options, mcfarlene can barely do action figures and now hes trying to make statues instead of focusing on what works for him (action figures)
these are awesome
I just collected 80s kenner super powers and dcuc lines. Never had dc mcfarlanes

And guess what a lot of collectors hate that bullshit from him and don't try and defend this bs
I guess only time will tell if this will stand with his fan base. They clearly showed that they were not interested in his 4 inch page punchers line…

My Walmart here in NJ doesn’t even bother to carry McFarlane dc multiverse anymore, actually both Walmarts in my county,🫤
