Glad to have been a part of this for all these years. You took an entire year worth of gameplay from me
So you have over eight thousand hours played, damn. But the eight thousand hours are worth it
You mean they gave you a year of SE:)
I'm a scant 2,100 hours in, myself.
Wait where did Xocliws comment go`?
I have nearly as many hours in SE
Godammit I feel old now
I can't believe it's been 10 years. This complication has actually completely changed the way I see the timeline of this beautiful game. I guess all the years just blended in together. Lets make it another 10 years, yeah? (SE2 on the new VRAGE *cough cough*)
Its changed everyone's view that's had to wait that long for this amount of progress. At least its not filled with ads and microtransactions, not considering DLCs with mostly just skins and toys except on rare occasion.
What an incredible journey it's been! I'll never forget racing home from college to jump on my PC and get back to designing more ships and speculating on the forums what would come in the next weekly update. I pass my 8 year anniversary at the company this week but for me, it truly feels like 10 years of living and breathing Space Engineers!
Thank you to Marek, all KeenSWH team members - both past and present, as well as the whole community for making the game what it is today! So... how many hours do you have in the game as of September 11th, 2023? I'll start - 6801 hours 🌟
Bonus Question: What was your favourite Space Engineers trailer of all time?
3130 hours
7500 hours, not including the 4000 hours outside of the game, making the space engineers enhanced modpack over the course of 6 years. Best game ever made - Deathfather
156, but I am still new to the game
965 hours and playing since the end of 2013, I am a big fan of the game and have been with it for almost its entire lifespan thus far. Playing Lego in space has always been fun, and as you might expect, each DLC brings me back to the game, I play it again for a week or two to try to build a few new ships and cars and this video was a nice trip down memory lane.
If I may make a suggestion though, as of today, many things regarding rotors, pistons and especially merge blocks in combination with the former two, still require workarounds for them to function, some of which requiring intense knowledge of ingame block behaviour. To this day I dont understand some things, like how to properly connect multiple pistons to the same subgrid without some expansive merge block workarounds that may or may not work, or be able to then "merge" them to the main grid using connectors so the grids dont mess with the ship behaviour or to create a custom hangar door. I still have no idea how to create vector thrust engines as shown in this video without using player made scripts either and believe me I experimented a lot. As a school teacher, the amount of time I can afford to and actually am willing to spend on figuring out all these things is limited. So I would really appreciate if you could adress these things sometime in future updates. Other than that, I am happy with the creative mode.
I played survival a few times, got into space most of the time, and I dont remember having ever found the ressources necessary to create ion thrusters ever since the introduction of planets even with the aid of large ship ore detector blocks. I read somewhere that I find that platinum ore on asteroids, but even after hours of searching and cartographing each visited asteroid with GPS commentary, i came up with nothing in survival. Maybe I was unlucky, maybe it can only be found at the core of the largest of asteroids, beyond the range of the ore detector, but either way it just feels like a grinding hassle.
The random AI encounters improved on the gameplay fun by providing enemies that are more engaging than the wolves and spiders, but not enough to make up for the time spent searching and grinding for ressources and moving constructed building pieces from the assembler to the block you want to assemble, even at maximum construction speed and carrying capacity. Though I am not sure if it would even be worth it to give the survival mode a serious overhaul at this point in the games lifespan from the company standpoint, given the necessary work that would be required versus the additional income generated by an overhaul.
Started playing December 2019 and have now racked up over 7100 hours. I still play it daily and its my main game for now and probably for any foreseeable future. I found my favorite game type with SE and nothing else feels as good to play. Favorite trailer is difficult as I like them all really.
Here's to another 10 I'll certainly still be playing, favourite game of all time.
This game rally needs to be recognized by millions of people. The amount of times I told this game to my friends they get surprised what the possibilities you can do. This game is truly one of a kind.
SEModder4 here! I'm glad to be one of your fellow mod makers since August 24th, 2014. I can't see myself modding and creating things for any other game for the rest of my life.
ALL. HAIL. SPACE ENGINEERS! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for your mods, know them well. I'm only a small modder and didn't have done much in the last years (the blackhole mod with (or without) damage is the last one from me, for example).
Fantastic to be apart of the epic journey of Space Engineers. Thanks for everything! Here is to the next ten :D
Started playing when I was 10, I am now 20 and in college. I hope to keep playing till I’m 30. Keep up the great work!
Wonderfull to see how far SE has come since 2013. Been playing since release on and off and always enjoyed it. It's my go to game for when I'm away from home with my laptop and I don't think I'll ever stop...until whatever comes next for SE. Keep it up Keen!
I purchased back in Jan 2014, and there have been few games over my gaming lifetime that have consumed as much of my time as Space Engineers. I’ve spent almost 3500 hours on it, gotten my kids into it, and had tons of fun. Looking forward to continuing to enjoy this fantastic game and what is in store for the future. Congratulations KSH, and the community who have put their hearts and souls into this game for a decade of fun!
Dang. Has it really been that long?
Hell of a journey.
Thanks to the devs for making such a phenomenal toyboy, and the many thousands of hours of fun.
10 years of playing this game and I don't regret a single day of it. Well done you made something truly special.
I remember finding this game while I was awaiting the release of No Man's Sky. It was some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Years later me and a few friends made a server and played on it for weeks. Racing rovers, building bases, blowing each other up. Space Engineers is such an amazing and under rated game.
It has been a joy watching the development of this game. I still remember when multiplayer first came out and for the first time my friends and I could play together. It's been a blast ever since. Onto another 10years!
Has it been ten years? Wow, this game has come further than most in that time!
my mind tells me no, but my beard tells me yes!
Only now I've realised that I've been playing this game for soo long, at least 3-4 years. Time flies soo quickly.
Happy anniversary, fellow Engineers!
What a long way this game has come!
And still more to come, i heard a rumor that the next update will give a purpose to exploration, can't wait!
God, time flies past when you're playing SE.
Playing this game since early 2014 and still is my favourite creative outlet! Couldn't really grasp how long that's already been and had to stop the video a couple times like "wait...that came that long ago already!?" :D Looking forward to what's to come, the time just flew by!
Its been a hell of a journey. As a day one buyer I have been through all the good and all the bad times, but it honestly was worth it! Still my 2nd most played game in recent times.
Cheers for another decade!
I cant overstate how much fun this has all been. I remember playing since 2018 and its my most played game of all time at this point. All the memories ive made cemented into my mind till (hopefully) the end of my days. May the future be bright and glorious
Started in 2014, 4000 hours later I'm still playing. Looking forward to the next 4000!
I may not be the best, or oldest engineer out there, but when I started playing in 2020, I knew this was a game I'd stick with. I'm proud to have seen the progress the game has made in the 3 years I've been a part of this community, and I look forward to what's to come.
Such an amazing 10-year celebration! Felt honoured to be at the Keen Software House for such an occasion! Here’s to 10 years more!
Time flies so quickly :) Glad to be a part of the engineering player team :)
Space Engineers has been and shall always be my childhood game
Here is to the next 10 and beyond ❤
10 more years of awesome to come🎉🎉🎉
Watching this makes me feel old, as I was there from almost the very start. Well done Engineers, let's keep building and adventuring for another ten years.
I can't believe its already been 10 years! Been there from the start, have to admit, my first year i played on my fathers computer, but i got the game for myself back in 2014 ^^
It has been a fantastic journey so far, and I am excited to see where SE goes from here. 💙🥳
Been watching videos on this game since about 2015, itching for the Xbox launch. For awhile I thought it might not happen, but it did, with full support to boot. Phenomenal work, I'm eager to see what the future holds for us in Space Engineers.
At just short of 2500 hours since 2013 or 14, it has been an incredible ride. From playing alone to meeting a large group of friends that I can now call some of my best, to running our own servers and helping new players enjoy the game. I'm excited to see what comes next
I am very glad to be with you all this time! Thank you
i am playing this game since before oxygen and planets were implemented (what was effectively the version given to us in the deluxe edition as a bonus) and it is still a blast to play. Here's to many more shenanigans with spaceships :)
it's been a hell of a ride, I dont regret any of the 1500+ hours I have on this game
Crazy to see how far it's come...so many joyful hours of creation and destruction for me. Here's to another ten!
Got the game back when it released on Xbox. So many hours gone.. but every single second was worth it. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I think one of the last lets-plays I really watched was actually a lets-play on Space Engineers. The game looked really fun, and the team playing it were cool too. :)
I really want some of these more recent bits of footage on the main menu, I've seen the 2017/2018 stuff enough times to know the sequence off by heart. Also happy 10th Space Engineers!
I remember playing this when it first came out. Doesn't feel like that long ago to be honest, but its awesome to see how far this game and it's community has come.
And heres to another 10 fantastic years, although I can be critical of SE at times I do truly love it and want the best for it and the team that makes all of it happen.
It's been a wild ride! I first got on in 2014.
I think those whom judge this game too harshly did not experience the bulk of this ride; the game has improved 100 fold.
Awesome game!
I've been playing your game on and off since 2014 and have made memories i wont forget for a long time.
To another 10! good luck.
I am happy that I have seen this excellent development for over 6 years, and wish many more years of success.
You were my first greenlight game, it was amazing to see the concept back when everything came out. You made my childhood memories of building ships and mining asteroids a reality. The friendships made in that time, though many have come and gone, have become some of my fondest. Thank you guys.
Such an emotional time. I'm so glad to have been here for the ride......oh hey my refinery is done 😂
(Seareasly tho keen it has been an honor to be along for the ride)
As someone who has been here since 2013, I can say, it's been a priviledge and an honor, while I've moved on from this game, and the friends I made and enjoyed this game with have moved on not just from the game, but from me as well - I'll always remember it fondly and with love. Long live Keen, Long live klang.
This pulled me back a few years.. Still there's a lot more to do folks, but hell of a ride so far!
Even with all the ups and many downs, the game is always good to play every now and then.
I've been playing since some time in 2014ish, and even though it's an on-and-off obsession I count this as one of my favorite games of all time. Just top tier open-ended gameplay and community/dev interactions!
I remember first stumbling across this game back in 2014. It seemed so magical, to build your own spaceship, and be able to walk around it and do anything you wanted with it.
All these years later, still got that feeling. My builds may be awful, but theres no feeling like flying a spaceship you built.
Joined in Aug 2019, have played 5327 hours. I could had an online degree by now! LoL. I just love to build and SE doesn't take up shelf space in a small apt. Thank you Keen, keep evolving!
You guys have created one of the greatest sandboxes ever, and in turn, your sandbox has allowed an amazing community to flourish. Thank you for sharing this experience with us.
I am so happy to be part of this great journey since the very beginning.
I really miss the days of Machinima's, I would honestly love to see some sort of story or plot to develop with this game. It seems like this game would have a lot of open toolsets which would allow you to create some really interesting scenarios
the return of Shack W4sted and Morph,s group survival would be ideal in my opinion
Hello everyone, this is Megaman, 10 years have already passed and still today there is a lot of passion through this game.
Broken, crashed, repaired, redesigned ships and much more...
I can only say that this game is life and I'm happy to have bought it that day 10 years ago.
Even today everything is still to be discovered and I hope it remains like this, an infinite Cosmonaut adventure, thanks again to all the staff.
still one of my fav games to play, will always be building and surviving. Fantastic 10 years, and here's to another 10. Well done.
I joined in 2014 right after I got out of the military. This game was so cool back then and I have had such an awesome time watching this game evolve over the years. I own all the dlcs and made some pretty incredible builds over the years. Keep up the amazing work keen.
I've been looking at your intro for almost 5 years and I still haven't seen those three long slope blocks in game, teasing me !!! seriously though it's honestly strange To see a game I've been playing for almost 9 years and have been enjoying ever since Flash before my eyes 😊
Incredible to see how little the game has truly changed since 2016. I don't mean that in a bad way, either. All the bones. The core gameplay. The vision. It was all there. All these years later, and the building is the same. The loop is the same. The mechanics are the same. It's just nowadays, the game runs so dang well. It has a level of polish that didn't exist just a few years ago. The textures, the shaders, the exposure, the environment, the models, the skins, the combat, the designs... Just so consistently improved little by little over time.
Congrats SE, and KSWH. You delivered on that original promise 10 years ago. Even when you broke multiplayer and added planets that lagged the game to impossibility, a couple times. You learned, you applied, and you delivered. Im happy to have played the game since, I think, early 2015, on my crummy laptop at 720p, and now at max settings at 1440. It feels just as nostalgic, and just as fun as it did so many years ago.
Here's to the next 10.
I bought the game 2 days after it was released to early access on Steam, I couldn't be happier with this game and the progress it went through. I remember us begging for planets and the devs saying it's not possible, then bam, it happened! Good times for the last 10 years, here's to 10 more! Happy 10th Anniversary Space Engineers!
I play a lot of games and the 2000 hours of Space Engineers I have on Steam is nearly double my next closest game. Keep up the great work!
Loved every single one of my 1400hrs so far ;) Great memories!
Thank you Keen for all you have done over this last decade. i got se at the end of 2013 and I've put alot of hours in this game. it has been an amazing journey playing my favorite game and here's to the next 10.
This game is up there on one of my highest hours from all my games, I absolutely love it.
Yeah, it is still on the first place for me.
One of the best games i have ever played with +800h. Great memerys from a great game ❤
Happy 10th Anniversary! Much love to Keen and all my fellow Space Engineers. Keep building!
Your game was the entire reason I downloaded Steam all those years ago and was introduced to many other games I hold near and dear to my heart. Space Engineers will always have a special place in my heart as my first ever game I downloaded on Steam.
You have about 2 years of my life on this game and I’ve loved all of it
10 years went by fast. Thanks for making the game of unlimited creativity ❤
10 years and still one of my favourite games. Here’s to the next 10! 🍻
Definitely one of the best games out there, i have been playing since 2016 and to this day its always managed to impress. Thank you for defining my childhood!
I bought the game back in 2014 when i didnt have a PC to play it, i first played it in 2019 and no matter what happens i will be here till the end of the journey
This is what Star Citizen hopes to be when it grows up. This is how games should be supported. Thank You
Best game! Best community! Best developers! What more need I say
This game has become much more of what i have hoped for when i bought it 10 years ago. Every thursday i smashed the f5 button to see the new blocks ❤
Will the plushies get a comeback? I missed them out last time
I've had it since week 15. Long way since it began... here's to 10 more 🎉
Legendary game, developers and community. Sad I slept on this game for so long but very happy to be so vested into the greatness of being an Engineer!
It really blows me away that we've had planets in the game far longer than we've not had planets. Seriously, only 2 years into the game's lifetime we got planets, and 8 years of that we've had them. And got more added! Keen always has my respect for continuing to work on and love their game for as long as they have.
I remember well that the year planets were introduced in SE was the year I stopped saying to others, "That's not going to happen, that's way too hard to put in." ;D
After we got planets I thought everything would be possible, even water. ;)
Man, it’s still insane to see where the Art style and gameplay has really gone, from that little green asteroid station in 2013……
got this game back when some of the textures weren't implemented yet! I can happily say this game shaped my childhood and current creative ventures, thanks for this amazing one of a kind game. :)
If the world of Space Engineers were really so alive, I would play this masterpiece endlessly.
Thanks Team Keen, for all your hard work and dedication. This game is probably my most played game of all time and is always in my Steam launcher. All hail Klang!
Thank you, Keen, for such an amazing game! But also, thank you modding community. This game wouldn't be the same without you all.
I first got introduced through watching Captain Shack's many modded survival series. That was years ago. Now I have 1300+ hours of playtime and so many memories with or without friends and blueprints of grids I have built over the years.
I hope to get this game up to 2k hours and beyond someday.
May Clang be with you as you explore the stars.
Man already 10 years?! Congrats! Played this for 10 years and will be playing it for well another 10
I'd like to take a moment to appreciate the quality of models and textures for the new blocks you guys have been releasing these past few years. The game's art style has come a long way, and It's looking really good!
It's been an incredible journey watching Space Engineers evolve over the years.
No game has ever (or probably will ever) have as large an impact on my life as SE has. I'm genuinely grateful for all the people who've been a part of making Space Engineers possible and for the community that made it so special.
Looking forward to discovering all the new things we can do as it continues to grow (and of course to see what will eventually come of the VRage3 engine) :)
A decade and 12,000 hours later :D you’ve grown so much red ship 🥲🥹
Words cannot state how much joy this game has brought me over the last 10 years, thank you Keen for so many amazing experiences that have come from this.
10 years and still going strong! 👍🏻💪🏻🧑🚀👩🚀
Though I haven't played in many, many, many years.... I'm glad y'all are still working hard and supporting this game. It's incredible to see. Heck, I remember way back in the day when the forum argued if planets are even canon or not, or if it was set in the Miner Wars universe... And when I first started the first "PMC" on the forum... Damn. Good times. Good times.
Watching this brought back so many memories! I am so glad and proud to be apart of the journey from the beginning to now! Looking forward to more in the coming years
Started playing the moment it released and haven't stopped this is definitely my top game
I’ve clocked over 7,000 hours into this masterpiece of a game since I got it all those years ago, and you know I’ll be sticking around for more, and VRAGE 3’s development has me super stoked for the future. Here’s to another 10 years!!
Glad to have been there every step of the way
To another 10 years!
Still one of the best games iv played. Play it when I can. Here's for another 10 years
And still my favorite space game ever!!!
It's nice to know that my favourite game is growing with me. Space engineers and Keen Software, without you, I would not have had a childhood, and even if I did, it would certainly not have been as good as with you)))
Never disappointed by your updates, this game is close to my heart. Can't wait to see NPCs and some kind of end game to make this game the ultimate gem.
Proud to have been an engineer with you for 10 years!
*Long live Keen, long live Clang!*
I’m happy to have been here for the journey! I’m excited to see what the future holds!
