You anyway have to pay TCS (0.5%)+ GST(On dollars purchased) + Bank charges. They why are you paying through flywire(with 25$ extra charges). Instead you can go directly to bank and initiate an wire transfer to university directly mentioning your student Id. I don't see any cost benefit
As you said in your video it is not saving money. It is TCS tax collected at soruce above 7 lakhs it will be 0.5% if it is from Education loan , if you send directly it is 5% and you have to claim it back by filing Income tax returns
