OK, I felt pretty stupid until I read through some comments and a guy said he's been doing it wrong for 45 years. I'm guessing I couldn't have been doing it wrong for more than 44 years! Just putting away Christmas decorations and have maybe a dozen various sized extension cords and thought there had to be aright way to do this- been doing the around the arm stuff and wondering where all the tangles were coming from. Glad I use extension cords all year long or I'd forget this by next year! Thanks for taking the time and making a great right-to-the-point video.

this is how my pop taught me to roll extension cords. i LOVE the daisy chains though, because we ALWAYS had ASS long cords, so the lil advantage of the end next to each other and the rest tied up was always a must for me. thanks for the video:):)
I use the pull, twist, coil method for anything 50' or less. The continuous slip-knot for longer cords. Before the time of cordless tools, i worked steel building construction and we had 20-100' cords in the back of the truck that never tangled (don't mix looped cords and rolled cords, they'll tangle with each other.)
Funny, came to watch how to properly roll up an extension cord, but found myself more interested in watching the dogs playing! Still a good video, will replay to concentrate on how to roll up extension cord.
The Daisy chain , French braid, crochet stitch method works but if your cords get very cold all those little loops get a memory that’s hard to straighten. My rule is long cord big loops. Also avoid long cords. If cords or hoses are straight and free to roll over as you wind them you’ll get less tangling.
Been doing just that for many years and my 100' cords have no twist to them, hang in a nice consistent group of loops. I use a velcros/nylon strap to hold it together and hang on a hook.
I teach kids that start work at the plant I work at this method when rolling up air hoses. They will twist up too if you don’t roll out the twists as you go

I prefer this method than the "over-under" technique, which also works, but saves a little bit of time and I prefer it cause my hands are like a catcher's mitt.
Very good video. Good quality as well as content. I had just learned how to do the method that “French Braids” the extension cord. I like that way, but I am only 5’2” and weigh just under 100 lbs. I practiced, today with a 50’ 12 gage monster. I did find it difficult to find a place to hang it that didn’t strain my rotator cuff. I feel very comfortable with your presentation and I anticipate practicing your method tomorrow, if it stops raining. What are your thoughts on the over-under, figure “8” method? Great video. Next time, you have to show what happens when you toss the cord out in the yard. I really wanted to see that!😊
