- PowerPoint Tutorial: How to get one video to automatically start after another? This tutorial by means of triggers and bookmarks will show you how. Getting one video to automatically start after another is great when you aren't actually there to present your presentation.
This question was raised by a client who literally asked: "How to get one video to automatically start after another?" in other words how to automatically play a video in PowerPoint?
I found it peculiar that PowerPoint didn't automatically start one video after the other has finished playing on the same slide. So with the help of triggers, you will see how this is possible.

How would this work if the videos are on different slides? Is there a way to auto advance to the next slide when one video ends?
Good question! You would use a transition and then get the video to start when the slide appears. Great RUclips Channel BTW let me know if you fancy some sort of collaboration 😁😁
Poorly prepared, poorly executed, difficult to follow.
Yeah must do another of these
@@computertutoring I found the presentation well done. PowerPoint is not intuitive when it comes to setting up animations and transitions.
Also, the ability to not fade from one slide to another is beyond maddening.
Maybe the newer version has this but I don't use it enough to pay for a subscription.
Thanks@@SThompsonRAMM_1203
supper !, it is working and simple trick thank you a lot.
Cool so glad it still works its been a while
Clear and concise. Great Lesson. Thanks
Unfortunately, this is not working at all for me. I'm not sure if it's because I am on a Mac using PPT 16.75. Right off the bat, I do not see a playback tab. Help! I have 5 videos that I would like to automatically play one after the other and then repeat. Thank You!
Sorry it's not working the playback tab should appear when you have the video selected. What appears when you select the video?
thanks for the lesson. This really is helpful for my upcoming project.
Is it possible to give 5 second pause time in between the videos
In the animation pane, click on the play trigger for the second video. Then use the Delay option at the top on the Animations tab to add the amount of delay you need. Will add details and pictures by Monday on the accompanying page www.computertutoring.co.uk/how-to-get-one-video-to-start-after-another-is-finished-powerpoint.asp
What if the first slide is a video and the next slide is a picture or text slide, can you trigger those to play?
This solved my problem! Thanks!
😀 Thanks for saying, I always find that getting videos to work with each other in PowerPoint can be tricky
how this work for video at next slide because i want to play full screen
Sorry Couldn't get this to work between slides, however you could add the videos you want to run in succession on the same slide and then add a fade out effect in the animation pane. Then, using the animation pane you can drag the fade out effect to before the video plays. Unfortunately, this does mean you have to place all the videos on the same slide.
How does this work if the video is an online video? The bookmark button is greyed out.
Sorry I've only been able to add bookmarks to local videos
HI IT IS NOT WORKING FOR ME
Sorry to hear that. Will double check that it's still relevant as it's an older tutorial
