the Impulse 31 is floating to dry which means that you got to trim it so that he is lifting up his nose a little at full throttle.
Also you can move the lipo's a little backwards to get the perfect central point,
I run a Impulse 31 v2 myself with a leopard 4074/2200 kv on 6s with a 180 A esc and with a cupped and ballanced prop.

Have a Spartan myself. Change out the motor cooling sleeve to an aluminum. That's where your taking on water. The stock cooling sleeve leaks like a sieve.

FYI the Spartan is leaking water via the stock rubber cooling jacket guys. Replace that and make good use of the RC Boat Bitz dual water inlet rudder to keep things cool. I can't imagine it getting so much water inside with all that tape around the hatch. It's definitly the cooling jacket. Keep up with the great job!!

Although I once went to a hobby store searching for an RC boat with a 50$ dollar budget. The guys got so mad at me yelling stuff like "these are not toys! the cheapest thing we have costs 300$" and technically kicked me out of the store. hahaha
Kyon I think that back in the day the RC "game" was so niche that a lot of the users began to feel like they had to "protect" their hobby from people who didnt understand the complexities of these machines - and simply give it a diminished "toy" name. Some of them did it in a derogatory fashion without ever realizing how much skill some of the machines take to operate. This seemingly made those hobby enthusiasts need to feel defensive. But, to me - in this day and age - there is so much in the way of folks feeling angst and apprehension about how the world goes - that I simply want to showcase how much fun and excitement these "toys" can bring. The more smiles, the better I say! I think both parties are correct - they can call it what ever they want.. as long as Im still allowed to play :~)
